I am a middle aged woman who loved Little House and Melissa Gilbert. And I LOVE Maks like nobody's business. But damn. They should have gone. See, now I'm going to start getting annoyed at her for staying past her time.

I know that many people don't like Jaleel for a variety of reasons, but I enjoyed he and Kym on most weeks and will miss their dances. I actually feel sort of bad for Melissa and Maks at this point. They have got to feel like they are dancing on borrowed time and I am sure that some of the enjoyment is gone. Melissa actually makes me nervous when she dances. She just doesn't look comfortable or at ease to me.

I think it's less about Maks fans and more that people for whatever reason just don't care that much about Roshon and Jaleel, considering that both of them have landed in the bottom two before.

This is a really good point. I have often wondered who Roshon's assumed fan demographic is and if they are likely to watch this show. His performances have been pretty solid, yet he has consistently been on shaky ground with votes.

Melissa should have been the one to go. She is the weakest dancer by far, and I don't find her partnership with Maks all that enjoyable to watch. But if it couldn't be Melissa, then I'm okay with Jaleel. But, dammit, the unanimous decision against Jaleel actually had me feeling sorry for him.

I'm glad Roshon was saved, but honestly, the boy is on borrowed time at this point: IIRC, he's landed in the bottom two THREE times now. There is no freakin way he is escaping the double elimination next week.

So Maria and Derek have received the encore twice this season. Yeah, they're not being propped at all. Especially when you consider that the winning team dance typically gets the encore the following night.

Finally... someone asked Mark to prom? Gurl, get some taste.

Tonight's lesson: do NOT piss off Maks fans.

For a season that started off with so much promise, it's gone downhill so quickly.
Roshon and Jaleel hitting the Duel was genuinely surprising, but the double elimination next week will just get rid of him next week, clearing up Maria's path to the finals.

So Maria's the first dancer this season to get the encore twice? The favoritism is even more jarring because IIRC, the winning team dance usually gets the encore.

For the first time, I did feel bad for Jaleel, though I won't miss him. I'm totally on board for Roshon/Donald for the final 2 now, though. I'm tired of all the maneuvering to hand the Ballas/Hough boys yet another trophy.

It was great seeing Karina dance to Gavin's performance. She and Louis were working it.

I can't believe Melissa is still there. She has outlasted her time by a couple of weeks. I hope the judges will give her appropriate scores next week so that she will go. Seven's were too high for that mess last night.

But on a happy note, Katherine and Mark are back to dance again. Can't wait to see what they do next. I am sure she will be amazing!

I agree that is was time for Melissa to be sent packing as she is the worst dancer left of the whole bunch. I don't see any improvement with Melissa. No way should Jaleel have been sent home before she got the boot off the show. That was mind boggling. Melissa better walk the plank next week.

Hilarious! I think I scared my kid when I actually cheered after Tom said Melissa and Maks were safe. Maybe I was a little loud!

WTF Len? The dance duel is cruel?! Since when? I don't remember the judges having a problem with the duel until this week. Too bad, so sad - that's what you get when you take the decision out of the hands of the fans!

Melissa better get her helmet ready. She's going to be fodder for the double elimination cannon that is coming for her next week. I predict Roshon will be joining her. Even though I feel he is improving, I just don't think he has the fan base to be safe.

I don't think Melissa cares much for Bruno. That makes both of us.

Loved Gavin. Loved Karina dancing to Gavin singing.

You'd think someone with injured feet would want to rest them as much as possible.

Was it just me, or did Kym seem to be struggling with finding something to say about Jaleel? In the end what she said was nice enough.

Is next week another awful theme week, or do they just get to freaking dance?

Though Melissa is on borrowed time, I'm glad she made it past Jaleel. I also don't feel one molecule of sorrow for him being unanimously tossed in the dung heap. Good. Free Kym!

Great ending for me.

I was surprised that Melissa was safe but glad she outlasted Jaleel, esp. because she was rightly offended at his stupid "eating cheesecake like a divorced woman with 3 kids" remark. What an asshole. At least poor Kym won't have to get felt up by that jerk anymore. The outfit she wore for the dance duel was the same one she wore for her rumba with Tristan last season. Not that I've watched that a million times, or anything.

The dance duel bummed me out again even though I was happy with the outcome. This show is supposed to be fun. I'm glad it's over now.

How awesome is Tom? "Life's a bitch."

Gavin was great. I wish Karina had danced with anyone else but Louis. Actually I wish she had danced with Tristan again.

I had paid no attention at all to the ballroom battle but it finally made sense why they have been shoving Louis down my throat all season. Quite glad his team came in last. When the winning female lifted the trophy in the air, did anyone else think she would grab the mic and say "I'm Cha Cha DiGregorio from St. Bernadette's?"

The bottom three are the weakest dancers and all cannon fodder, so it doesn't matter to me at all what order they're eliminated.

The Steelo piece was incredible. I was a blubbering mess. Well done, show.

I hate watching Louis as well. Not sure why. I understand he's a great dancer but he just bugs me. Oh well, there's a lot of subjectivity for an untrained viewer of a dance. He just doesn't do anything for me. OTOH, Karina absolutely enthralls me - the way she moves is dramatic magic for me. I don't think Louis is a good "frame" for her - maybe he's just too short and not handsome enough (imo). Tristan was fab - and even though I'm hating on him big time, I'm sure Derek would look good with her (have they danced together before?) Tony's another one whose pro turns don't do anything for me. Oh well - enough kvetching.

Jaleel didn't say ONE good thing about Kym. And he was standing there, struggling for positive things to say - mentioned the other couples, for heaven's sake. I think he hates her. And she ought to hate him - what a narcissistic pig. I hope I never have to lay eyes on him again.

Not surprised about Maria and Derek's encore, but I keep wondering why they cast Derek in such a negative light in the practice edit last night. They didn't have to. They tend not to, though with Shannon Elizabeth, it happened - and Brooke's tell-all didn't hold back any punches either. It's just interesting to me that they gave him a negative edit. I don't know if I'll ever be a fan of his again - I wasn't much of one anyway, but I liked his self-deprecation and charm.

But knowing the dark side, the entitled barely concealed tantrum when he was called out 2nd in the marathon (after Tristan and Gladys were thrown under a bus) - I've just had it with the teacher's pet feeling he's not getting ENOUGH propping for God's sake. SUCH a turn-off when the most propped person ever on the show gets pissy when he doesn't get perfect treatment. I've got all fingers and toes crossed his movie is successful and the only reason is I want him off the show. I couldn't bear to look at him tonight.

Oh well, at least it makes Katherine's anointment easier to swallow, but this season sucks for me, since Gladys' ouster. I don't care who wins. I think it's without doubt that Melissa and Roshon will be the double elimination - yawn. I guess I'd like to see either Donald or William win, since the golden boys are on my last nerve. Why does the show have to revolve around them to the extent it does? Strictly doesn't have uber-pets like this, and it's disgusting to me.

I've never seen an ounce of enjoyment from either of them while they're dancing. While Melissa is certainly more spry and agile, in terms of her overall performance she should have gone before Gladys, much less still be hanging around now. I had high hopes for her, but really, she's just never been particularly good.

Happy Jaleel is gone, though, and happy, too that Roshon gets another shot. He's a goner for sure next week, but for someone I couldn't stand at the beginning of the season, his maturation as a young man and progression as a dancer have won me over.

So the winner of the ballroom battle (AKA potential future pros) was the couple with guy dancing with his mouth gaping open? I'd rather seen any of the troupe members promoted to pro -- and I don't find any of them at all compelling.

The Steelo piece was incredible. I was a blubbering mess. Well done, show.

You were not alone.

I was disgusted with the screw up during the Ballroom Battle judging. Why didn't they cut to commercial and give the judges a few minutes to make an informed decision? Judging at this level is much harder than the crap dances they see from the rookie celebrities. The differences between these semi-pro dancers is much more subtle. The judges needed a couple minutes to collect their thoughts and instead they get Tom jumping up and down about to piss his pants over time. All they had to do was cut to a commercial. It's just not right for these semi-pro's to spend months preparing and then get a rushed judgement.

Ok, Jaleel has left the House. I know Kym has to be happy. That Classical week rehearsal package really bothered me with all his groping.

Maria not only has gotten two encores, but Katherine and William have not gotten any so far.

Melissa has never been in the bottom two so no opportunity to even do the dance duel. That is some fan base she has! I kinda feel vindicated in a way, like she outsmarted TPTB at their intention for the dance duel.

Next week's "theme" is probably just the Instant Dances.

I'd hope to see Katherine do the Viennese Waltz. I predict that could really be a perfect score for her.

Barring anything weird happening, Roshon and Melissa are goners next week. Roshon's been in the bottom 3, three times so far. Homeboy just don't have a fan base. Melissa will probably get the lowest scores by a big margin, leaving her impossible to avoid being one of the 2 eliminations.

Agreed! I'm so happy that the judges didn't have the chance to send Maks home. I'm sure Carrie Ann would not have passed up the chance even if the other couple sat on the floor and refused to move.

Now that the dance duel is over, I'm not sure what it accomplished. The true front runners, William, Katherine, and Donald, didn't need to be saved. We can't even be sure the duel saved Roshon because he might not have been the actual lowest combined total any week. The duel didn't really do any good, but it was sad and uncomfortable to watch. I hope we've seen the last of this twist.

The problem is that you assume the judges could have picked up on those differences with more time. Carrie Ann looks so uncomfortable those rare times when she actually tries to talk about the nuts and bolts of ballroom. Really, the most she and Bruno could contribute to the deliberations is, "Who should win, Len?" It comes down to whether or not Len had enough time.

I thought Louis' couple were the best - especially the girl. The other girls' kicks and flicks were sort of substandard, to my untrained eye. I think they saved Cheryl's couple because she's still in the comp and - well, you know, prop prop prop till you drop - it should be DWTS' motto.

I thought the season was poor from the start, they just hid it behind smoke and mirrors and the judges proclaiming this was the best ever. They have the same failures as many other recent seasons - they focus on their favorite pros and treat the people strapped to them like afterthoughts, they have little interest in the dance and are more interested in stunts and melodrama, and they are so obsessed with getting the result they want that the viewers are pushed aside. I doubt I will remember anything Katherine, Maria, or William have done this season, yet they are the show's ideal, no matter what.

The dance off is always a waste of time. It just encourages people to vote more for their favorites and less for the rest, which means that poor Roshon has now filled the Aaron Carter role of knowing the viewers don't want him around and that he is gone as soon as the judges stop making the decision.

Jaleel must rank very high among those who came across horribly on this show (I'd put David Alan Grier, Ricki Lake, and that Pussycat Doll who flopped on X-Factor as the other four). Goodbye and good luck to him.

Now that the dance duel is over, I'm not sure what it accomplished.

It made the judges feel powerful and the show got to give viewers even less of a voice.

I loved Steelo too. Holy shit, I cried and cried. I know the Mr. was wiping something from the side of his eye---prob not a tear b/c my lovely husband is a stone cold machine....

I really liked Chelsie's red hot outfit she wore for the dance duel.

Wait, Brooke has a tell-all? Was it good? Tell-all, really?

This season, I would love to see someone else win that hasn't won already. And at this point, I don't care who their partner is. I've been disappointed w/the winners so many times on this show, that I'm just ready for a newbie to take it home, just like Karina did last season.

I don't care for Derek but I do wait for his choreography. I wish Maks would pick up some pointers.

I cannot stand the way Melissa's dress fit her. Something was so not pleasing to the eye and I have yet to pin point why.

If the judges hadn't been so rude to Melissa and Maks, I wonder if the fan base would have mobilized enough. I doubt I would have voted so much for them. Which then makes me wonder if that was somehow their plan to end up saving M&M for whatever reason. Convoluted.

Maria and Derek didn't deserve the encore and it wasn't danced as well either.

Yes, show should have gone to commercial to give the judges a little more time with the whatever it was called.

Can't wait to see what nonsense next week brings.

Melissas dress did not cover up much, and while she is not fat in the slightest, she does not have a dancers body. They should have focused more on Maks' body if they wanted to "distract". I think part of the reason William said he didnt want to take his shirt off is that Donald and Maks are contenders and William may not get all the oohing and ahhing he is normally subjected to.
