THE WOMEN COMPETE TO OPEN A FASHION SHOW - The models go to castings for the opportunity to open a fashion show for one of the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize finalists with fashion's elite, including Marchesa's Georgina Chapman in attendance. At a photo shoot, a few of the women struggle while modeling heavy Hello Kitty couture gowns.

Yay! Seymone is gone! I was so scared she was being set up to win. I actually like everyone who's left, in general. With Seymone's departure, the remainder of this crappy season is looking up a bit for me!

I knew Seymone wasn't going to win. I just thought she'd be strung along alot further. This episode was okay. Now once they get rid of Ebony and Alisha it will be better.

Tyra can stick her branding up her ass!! Why the hell do they go after Eboni for not looking like a child in her photos? (Not that she had a good photo this week) They hardly ever bring up the other girl's brandings and I dont remember them. Sure the hell cant remember from their photos! And really Kelly? Eboni disrespected the judges for not wearing her pig tails?

I guess Tyra's going to spend the rest of the season force-feeding Alisha, Annaliese, and Eboni.

Laura - last week your attitude was skank about Kyle. This week your happy dance at her dismissal, while not unexpected, really portrayed you as a bitter hag with a withered soul. And I can't believe no one told you "to find the light" in your Hello Kitty photo.

Kelly Cutrone's teeth really are quite unattractive. I guess I've never had to look into her gaping maw as much as this week. Nightmare inducing.

Seymone - you are tiresome and not attractive enough to make it worth putting up with you. Even your exit footage was painful.

Anniliese (sp?) and Ebony's HK photos did suck, but when you look at all the crap around their neck and head it certainly explains a lot. I'd like to see anyone find a way to have a dozen stuffed HK head's surrounding your head, neck and shoulders and manage to pull it off. Given Mr J's feedback during Anniliese's shot, it sounded like there would be plenty of photos to pick from and they chose the one with everything bunched up around her neck?

I actually found Georgina Chapman's experience to be relevant and her comments quite lucid. She most have lost a bet and had to appear on the show.

Must get a lot of food stuck in those gaps. The bug eye glasses also drew all the attention to them. And for being in PR, her vocal delivery in challenges sounds very stilted and the panel critiques are the worst script readings ever.

Seymone walked up to the final two off like a damn linebacker. Gurl, you know its bad when Tyra even takes a mulligan in getting rid of you.

I didn't feel bad for Seymone, she just doesn't have the maturity yet. And I really feel bad for Eboni in that for some reason, she's the only girl being held to Tyra's super hero branding. The pigtails look not young, but childish. And I am uncomfortable with how demanding she keep her hair in a very young child's style is some sort of weird fetishizing thing.

I was really amazed that not only were both of the girls in the bottom two Americans, but that they sent home Seymone! I thought she was going to make it to the end! Especially when they gave her the outfit that hid her awful flaws (i.e. doughy, untoned body) the best of all. I still stand by my theory that the show is sponsored by Adobe, because they are always trying to show off their best photoshop skills in the pictures.

I really liked Sophie's picture. It seemed very whimsical and Hello Kitty meets Alice in Wonderland. I just love her look, and she looked gorgeous on the runway. I was surprised Catherine got called so high when it seemed like they were trying to pick out the worst photo of her possible. She has the ability to look very gorgeous at some angles, and very harsh and unfortunate in others.

I hate Kelly Cutrone. I hate her voice, I hate her appearance, she has little to no valid criticism, and she is just a raging, nasty, pseudo-intellectual bitch.

New to the boards but not to ANTM...have to admit I have watched every season...as they slide downhill...

Glad Simone is gone and that Catherine has another chance...I was afraid for her, as she had a lot face time this week...Simone is just not a model, plus-sized or otherwise.

I do like Sophie the best, also Alisha (sp?)

Simone has a lot of growing up to do-wth was with her going away speech??

I noticed on another site that lots of these girls, especially Sophie, have done a ton of real work...I thought that used to be against the rules? Did they change that without really saying anything? Also there is a bit out there on AzMarie although that could have been after the show. But Sophie has hundreds of photos for real designers and magazines on all-antm.net (hope we can say that...)

That was seriously disjointed. The comments at judging didn't match what Jay said, but the results did. It was very odd, imho, and I was terrified that Seymone would get to stay.

Speaking of- why didn't Kelly Cutrone rip her a new one when she was whining behind-the-scenes at the fashion show? Or at judging? She tore Louise to shreds, and then followed up online and via Twitter. But Seymone gets to leave clear, with some bullshit about how she wasn't taking it seriously? Really aggravating.

Any of the Brits can win and I'll be happy. Or Laura, I like her for some reason. I had been thinking it was Seymone's to lose, because they never really called out her flaws. It's nice that the rest of the season is so open.

Is it just me, or does it feel like we should be down to 3/4 at this point? Did they start later this year?

Oh, and for someone who's supposed to be young Eboni looked like shit at panel, imho. Her skin looked bad, especially around her eyes. And her pigtails always look really ratty.

I don't care for Ebony, but I really do love the fact that she really thinks this 30-Never shit is, well, bullshit. I don't get how "30-Never" is really supposed to mean "Infantile Forever."

Well, all the brits are signed to agencies and since they were on BNTM I guess they had to modify the rules for this cycle (just like the last one).

Anyway, I liked the episode! The booty touch, smize and all other nonsense was kept to a minimum and they had an actual challenge that had to do with modeling! Imagine that!

My god, Seymoan's walk was all kinds of awful. Not C10 Lauren awful but pretty horrible. I didn't think Catherine walked that bad but Kelly Cutrone must really hate her. I don't think she has said anything good about Cat the entire time, she's not gonna be happy until she gets the ax it seems. I bet Eboni's pigtails were all Cutrone's idea. It's not the first time she comments about them and not even Tyra looked that offended by what Eboni did. Which by the way was all BS. She has to wear pigtails 24/7? Yeah sure.

It seems all the girls had some touch ups in their hair because they looked a lot more polished at panel. Georgina Chapman is gorgeous and I like her. Her comments were good too.

Praise Tookie, Seymoan is gone. She really hated that wig and I'm so happy the production still interviewed her wearing it. You could see the hate in her face. Like she just ate the haggis.

I feel that the episodes are going to be better now that they're overseas and are Seymone free.

They've always overlooked that rule and there's a clause that the producers may overlook ANY of the rules if necessary.

Hallelujah, Seymoan is gone! What's up with her exit interview?

"Can I leave? Please?"

Why, yes. Of course you can.

For the first time this cycle, I think a Brit may actually pull out a win. Eboni's not long for this competition, and Laura's been hit with the same pose criticism and didn't do well at either of the two go-sees. If the show has a final three runway again this year, I can see Laura making the last episode to circumvent a completely Brit season finale, but I don't think she'll win.

I'm not very sure what the judges were looking for in this photoshoot. Several girls were dinged for not looking whimsical enough, but the best photo of the week was Alisha's full-on dominatrix shot. Yes, her photo was pretty good, but her spread legs didn't go together with Hello Kitty. Sophie should've received FCO, IMO. There was great contrast between her quirky body language and fierce face.

Then again, giving what should've been Sophie's to Alisha was the theme of this episode, what with her being denied the challenge win. The girl opened two shows. It was really unfair for her to lose to someone who did worse, but whose designer did a better job. Based on this episode, I'm sensing an Alisha-Sophie final two.

TBH, this cycle really throw me for a loop.
At first, Azmarie seem like will takes it all, but she was eliminated for attitude problem. Kyle that has potential being hated by all the girl and crack under pressure, at last sent home for an obviously not best shot. Now, Seymone that did nothing good but get constant praises and the bad attitude down played. Just as I think Seymone will being dragged into final and win like last undeserving plussie, she get sent home over a not the worst picture.
I just can't see at this point, who will win. Maybe it's time to resurrect the brit girl wins theory.

I actually had a conversation with my friend from "Vogue" about Sofia Sizzi, the designer for Giulietta who was featured on this episode. We discussed how terrific her last collection was and how we both believe that Giulietta could be the next Marni . . . AND THEN SHE WAS ON THIS SHOW! I suppose that she's going to be cursed now.

Anyway, there was some genuine high fashion in this episode. It was quite inspiring, really. To see Seymone get the boot at the end made it even more inspiring. Perhaps there's hope for this show yet.

I think this will probably be my last season watching (but I'll still read the recaps, because I adore Potes). The branding bullshit irritated me last season, but I assumed it was just something they cooked up for the All-"Star" cycle. Then they(ra) brought it back and have now spent the entire cycle berating Eboni for not staying in the arbitrary box she was given. When Tyra told Eboni and Seymoan (I love this joke) that they were both in the bottom two for not being true to their brands, I wanted to knock my tv off its stand. Sixteen seasons of telling girls to be fashion chameleons and to bring something different to every shoot, and now it's changed to, "NO! BE ONE THING AND ONE THING ONLY AND YOU DO NOT GET TO PICK YOUR THING!"

I am crossing every digit I have in hopes that the Jays release vicious tell-alls next year.

While I think the superhero stuff is complete crap, I do think that the "30-Never" thing would make more sense if Eboni was like 29 years old and not 18. She looks young because she is young. But if she was 29 and looked young, then the whole 30-Never thing would make a wee bit more sense.

I love Georgina. She always had good and constructive comments to help the girls. Not just dumb statements like I love this photo you look like a glamatron autonomatron or whatever the hell Kelly was saying to Alisha. I love when Kelly snipped at Georgina about if she would put Eboni's photo in a look book because she liked it so much, and Georgina kept her cool and was like yes, actually I would.

Kelly should be the poster child about what happens when you do lots of meth and other drugs in your 20s. I just think its funny that Kelly works in an industry that is ALL about appearence and she always looks like she rolled out of bed six days ago after a 3-day bender.

The stuff with Eboni relates to Tyra seeing herself in Eboni, and not wanting to see anything else. This may have started with either Kelly or Tyra but I got the distinct impression Kelly was expecting Tyra-walking-for-Anna-Sui at the runway challenge from Eboni, whereas what Eboni delivered was what was appropriate (though they could all do with some lessons from Miss J.)

Perhaps the reason Tyra kept Kelly on for another season despite the negative public response is that she can only respect older, unattractive women, whom she assumes must be wise and all-knowing like her momma. She seemed OK with much-older Janice in the early days but soon Janice's charisma became a threat to Tyra's ego. As far as I'm aware there was no problem with mild-mannered Twiggy, despite her fashion credentials blowing Tyra's out the water, presumably because of her age. Paulina was a threat from the start, being beautiful, sane and smarter and more accomplished than Tyra, so she went pretty quickly against her will. Kelly's has no charisma or likability, she's not beautiful, and crucially she's not a former model (as a publicist she's barely involved in the fashion industry). Tyra's deferential towards Kelly because she assumes that to be ugly and successful you have to be a genius. I'm not convinced by anything Kelly's said on the show about branding or professional conduct, and I suspect (because I don't care enough to actually research her early career) that Kelly's success owes a lot be being born with a certain amount of privilege, being in the right place at the right time, and throwing a lot of people under the bus (but then, that's just my view of PR in general). In short, she's lucky as hell, and kind of a bitch, and the purported wisdom, instinct and knowledge Tyra has put forward as reasons for Kelly being a judge are bullshit.

I was really surprised when Seymone went home, but I'm happy with who's left. I wish Louise was still there, but otherwise these are some of the better models. Eboni and Laura both have irritating personalities, but I think Eboni has more potential, and I think it should be her with Alisha and Sophie in the top three. I'm really happy they FINALLY sorted out Catherine's hair (in a manner of speaking), though it's at least 3 weeks too late. Could they not give her a bit of the dye to mix with her conditioner so she could keep maintaining it herself?

One final thing that's bothering me about this cycle is that they seem to be missing a lot of opportunities. They did a Hello Kitty shoot just before announcing their Hong Kong trip and DIDN'T do an 'HK' pun? After the laboured "catching Z's" announcement of the New Zealand trip? They also had Tyra give a lesson in arching your back, then waited an entire week to schedule a shoot about the same thing? They have all these guest panellists who are apparently present at shoots and challenges, yet they never show them (you know, you don't have to fill every episode with Kelly's drawn out, nonsensical similes which she has clearly contrived to get more soundbites and therefore airtime.) The editing/producing this cycle is just not consistent with the last 17 - is it being done entirely by unpaid interns or something?

Oh my god, I am so tired of this branding crap. Every time they bring up Eboni's 30 Never junk I want to scream. A designer isn't going to care whether or not she wears her hair in pigtails, they just want her to sell their product. It makes me even crazier since most models are already young and being "youthful" isn't something special or unique. I can't say I particularly like Eboni, but I do feel bad that she has to keep trying to pull off a brand she was given by a person that knows nothing about who she might actually be. And god... Kelly saying she felt Eboni was "disrespecting" the judges by not wearing her pigtails... grow up.

Anyway, it looks like they finally re-dyed Catherine and Sophie's hair. I'm sure Catherine was happy about that since hers was faded so badly. I don't know why they give Annaliese so much crap. I thought her picture was really well done. I get that she's more commercial than editorial, but come on... the main chunk of the prize package is commercial. Laura's photo was nice, but it was the exact same pose from last week.

Wasn't sad to see Seymone leave. I was tired of the attitude and I was surprised she even made it as far as she did with some of the photos she took. And that exit interview was just... wow. I get that she was upset, but that was just ridiculous.

Wow. I'm shocked that Tyra's sent three American girls packing in a row now. First AzMarie, then Kyle, and now Seymone! I really thought she'd be trying to keep the numbers even for the overseas trip so that it'd be three girls from each country! Instead, it's two Americans and four Brits!

I know many people were worried about Seymone winning, but why, exactly? It was clear to me that her lack of airtime was telling me that she wouldn't win. And her "I've never modeled before, but I'm still kicking their butts!" confessional more or less told me that her ouster was being foreshadowed this week.

At this point, Laura is the strongest American girl left and the only one who deserves to get even close to the F2, IMO. Of the British girls, I really only think Sophie deserves to win. Annaliese is okay, but a middle-of-the-pack girl. Catherine's photos are great, she's great in person, but man! Her walk is terrible! And Alisha, good week or not, two photoshoot wins or not, is still, by far, the weakest of the British girls and really should get tossed next week, if not the week after.

Good, modeling-relevant challenge.

And on Seymone's final words. I guess she just didn't want to be seen crying on TV. If that's the case, she's certainly not the first, so I'm not gonna ding her for that. But I am gonna ding her for how she went about trying to get away from being seen.

Based on this episode, I'm sensing an Alisha-Sophie final two.

I'm thinking it'll be a Laura/Sophie F2, actually, so that Tyra can have a girl from each country.

To be blunt I thought she was going to win because she's Black and plus-sized. And she was getting a pass for a while on her attitude, her failure to book jobs in Toronto, and her crap photos. I really thought she'd get a Magical Improvement edit and steal the whole thing, deserved or not, so that Tyra could deliver a fabulous speech about all she represents, sort of like she did when Seymone was sent packing.

Huh, it just hit me that all the designers they walked for must have had clothes available for a plus-sized model, as there was no drama over it. Is that normal for that competition?

I love when Kelly snipped at Georgina about if she would put Eboni's photo in a look book because she liked it so much, and Georgina kept her cool and was like yes, actually I would.

And Nigel said something snippy, like Georgina must like the "dead" look. I guess he felt comfortable patronizing her because she's just a fashion designer and co-founder of a highly successful label. Whose only claim to knowing anything about modeling is her experience hiring them in the real world. For real jobs. Where they get paid real money. As compared to Nigel, who has experience doing things like hosting races to put on Cover Girl make-up at Wal-Mart. For a reality show. On the CW. From which he's been fired.

I wonder how many look books Kelly Cutrone has been responsible for.

And, finally, why is it so hard for these morons to realize that maybe Eboni isn't embodying her Tyra-imposed branding because it's the wrong fucking brand for her? It's about as appropriate as Tyra branding herself as "Brilliant Business Mind."
