It doesn't surprise me that the women were able to convince clueless, socially awkward Tarzan that he has a final 4 alliance. Can't wait to see his speedo get voted off.

As long as he gets voted off with it. As bad a a speedo'ed Tarzan is, it is probably still better than a naked Tarzan.

I was thinking the very same thing when I read that.

Well, yes, him with it LOL.

OTOH, we'd get blurred pictures to save our eyes, but we'd also get the humorous reactions of his poor cast-mates.

Matt had an insulting name for all those who were non-Roosters. I can't remember it, but someone will.

yoshi, you are not the only person to post this. Only the most recent person to do so.

I'm not sure what is the source of this information. Unless Greg gave two confessionals with two different comments, in the one I posted a link to upthread, he said he is in the alliance ("coalition") of eight people, and he knows he is in the bottom four, along with Christina.

I don't think he has any F4 illusions.

I think he knows that he isn't winning and wants 100K for 3rd place - which is a good idea if you have no shot at winning.

I think he is one of those guys like Phillip "The Specialist" Shepard who was "recruited" to play Survivor instead of auditioning.

Nope. That's what Jonas got for taking it like a man. The women tried to do the same to Troyzan but he wouldn't just take it like a man, so he's still in the game.

Yes, but the trash talk and the abrasive attitude arent helping him stay in the game and it certainly wont help him in winning it. That said, I agree that the "take it like a man" comment was an asinine thing for Chelsea to say to someone that she is trying to put on the jury. I think her good looks mask the fact that her social skills are really lacking.

Poor Leif. Her paints his face for the challenge and it doesnt even evoke a comment from Jeff. He doesn't get a confessional in his vote-off episode. Even his Ponderosa videos seem to focus on Jonas more than him, although if they are any indication, he is not an eloquent man.

Yeah, just think how many shocks he can buy for his truck with that kind of money!

Is it that much for third place? That could actually change the optimal +EV strategy (though it's for the worse as far as we viewers are concerned IMO). How much for second? Or do they both get the same?

I am surprised by how hard it is for us to discern who Kim and/or Chelsea really wants in F3. I think it's possible Kim is still just feeling out all her options and will make the final decision when the time comes.

It's not entirely up to Kim who goes to F3. It has a lot to do with how the F4 II winner votes. If that person isn't Kim, that person could easily vote for Kim and the others would vote differently at their peril. Thus, what really matters in terms of them getting to F3 is who they take to F5/F4, situations which they at least might have control over when those times arrive. Even so, it's just not a sure bet for Kim - she has to be in control of her destiny by winning II.

I think 100k is for second place.

But what I'm saying is that by doing that, Kim was solidifying an idea that others on the tribe (Troy and Tarzan) already showed was out there, of Christina and Alicia being on a lower tier than the other women. If it's so clear that Alicia is the one who is the logical decoy (or if it is between her and Christina), that does not demonstrate in any way that Alicia is in the top two or three.

I don't agree. Just because people outside their alliance think Alicia is on the bottom of the women's alliance, that doesn't make it so. If Kim goes to Alicia and says, in essence, "These dumbasses think you're on your way out", it serves to bind Alicia to her even more, specifically because Kim has told her of the threat and Alicia was not voted out. I don't think Alicia is worried about what Troy and Greg think about her or her place in the alliance, as long as Kim says and demonstrates that this is not the case. Kim has done just that by telling her, then following up on it. I really don't know of a better possible way for Kim to handle that situation than she did.

The key to Kim's game right now is that the people at the bottom of the alliance don't trust each other to talk to each other and figure out that they have all been fed the same line.

BDArizona, I mentioned this before, but let me just focus on it and leave the rest aside because I think this is the most important question: how can anyone ever believe they are at the top of an alliance if they are "told" what is going to happen in a vote rather than being part of the decision process as to what will happen? The best Survivor masterminds move their agenda along while at least making others in their alliance feel like they are included in the decisionmaking process. Kim has been shown doing this with Kat, Sabrina, and Chelsea; but with Alicia she just delivered her the news, done deal, this is the way it's going down. As for Christina, we haven't seen the way she was dealt with, but just by the way Christina talked at Tribal Council (something squishy and sigh-inducing about "just going along with the plan" to avoid being a target) it sounded like she too was just "told" rather than consulted.

So, again: how can someone (unless they are none too bright) possibly think they are at the top of an alliance in which they are just given marching orders after others have decided on them?

neplusultra, I don't think they so much think they are at the top of the alliance. I think they think they can Sandra the game. She always got marching orders too.

Good point, FrogsRule. Not the way I would play, but it's a very valid example given her great success! I was going to say that I just wish Christina would pull a "I'm against you, Russell"; but I suppose she did that against Alicia in one of the first Tribal Councils.

I have to change my comment after tonight's (4/25). Alicia does think she's F3. Who knew? (And so does Sabrina.)
