The venue is an older theater, and to my admittedly untrained ear, the sound system seemed muddled.

As of today, Kym, Tristan and Emma Slater from the Troupe joined the show. I think Kym is only staying till the 28th of May but they're saying Tristan will be there till July, but I know he has at least three concerts elsewhere in June, so he won't be there every day.
Last December, Nancy Grace did a special on her HLN show from Maks' studio in NYC and she asked Karina and J.R. about the Vegas show and from their reactions, I really got the impression that they were going to do it, yet I haven't heard any word of them joining the show. So I guess not.
But Robin Leach tweeted that negotiations were underway to not only extend the show into August but to bring it back with a new cast in the Fall. Hope that works out. I think it's great for the dancers on DWTS plus the new ones in the "Las Vegas Troupe" to get a chance to do this. Good for the Tropicana too, if it continues to work out. And for DWTS fans.
From a review I read somewhere, Carson Kressley is supposedly killing it as MC. Was he there for the premiere, Number6? I saw a photo of him being lowered from the ceiling at one point. I love Carson. Looks like he's one of those whom DWTS will really help, career-wise, like another star in Vegas, Sabrina Bryan.

Chaz Bono to Lacey Schwimmer: I like the new pic. Are you still in Vegas? If you are, for how much longer, I wanna come see the show.
Lacey's answer: till July/aug come play Chaz!
She also tweeted that she got some "fantastic news" Wed. night and another in the show said they had a full-house one day last week, I think in the middle of the week. Hopefully it's a success! (which is so good for the pros who sometimes don't get picked up for the regular seasons, like Dmitry and Lacey)

I hope that news is that she's doing the All-Star show. Preferably with Kyle.

We bought VIP tickets, which put us up close -- about 8' from the stage, just to the right of center. Thankfully the stage was still at a comfortable viewing height. We enjoyed the show so much that we left the show and went straight to the box office to get tickets for a second night. The show is also enjoyable from further back. :D
There are a number of SYTYCD alum in the show, which made my sister and I very happy, since we're fans of both shows.
DWtS: Lacey, Dmitry, Carson Kressley, Joey Fatone, Tia Carrere, Kyle Massey, Sabrina Bryan.
SYTYCD: Ryan De Lillo, Iveta, Anya Garnis, Janette Manrara, and Jaymz (plus Artem, who's out with knee issues I think)
The billing was broken down into DWtS pros, DWtS celebs, the "professionals," and "the troupe." The "professionals" were ones who hadn't been on DWtS with celebs (though some if not all had been on for special performances), but had more featured stage time than the rest of the troupe (more on that in a bit).
There was a 7th inning stretch, where they encouraged everyone to get up and dance. There are two screens that occasionally support the show with clips, and during part of this stretch time, Len is shown from the chest up doing goofy dances. He is so adorable.
During this, they also picked three audience members to compete for a signed DWtS tee. Joey, Lacey, and Kyle were onstage to joke around and support their contestant. Lacey was the main talker, and boy, that girl was born to perform. She taught them a few initial steps (pony left, pony right, booty pop, chest pop, slow sprinkler, fast sprinkler, then some more steps), then it was up to the contestants to freestyle their way to the prize. My sister and I broke into the routine a number of times on the rest of our trip. Where no one could see us, of course.
Carson was hysterical. He was emcee, and he also did his Moves Like Jagger routine with Iveta and a number to "Vogue" with the guys of the troupe. Joey also did a bit of emcee work, bantering with Carson.
Tia did a foxtrot with Dmitry, and was so lovely and flirty.
Sabrina did a paso with Dmitry, and a routine to Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend with the guys. Although I thought she was good on the show and went home too early, I'd also thought she did all her routines with the same intensity, and wanted to see more variation. She was SO good in this show! I hope she is back for the All-Stars season.
Joey did Jailhouse Rock (jive, I think) and You Should Be Dancing (cha cha) with Anya. I had really enjoyed him on the show, and wish he'd had more featured dances. Though I guess none of the celebs had more than two featured. I wish I could get back while Kym is there!
Kyle and Lacey did a jive (Good Golly Miss Molly I think; if they didn't use the same song, it was at least very similar to the instant jive they'd done on DWtS), and something else that I'm blanking on. Maybe a tango? He is adorable.
Dmitry and Anya did a hot rumba -- this was on DWtS, the one with the guitar.
Lacey and Dmitry did an Argentine Tango. My sister said, "Lacey has really expressive feet." They're really flexible! She is also very light on her very flexible feet.
There were also group routines with the troupe, and routines with the troupe and others in the cast kind of flowing on and off.
The VIP tickets included a meet and greet and some DWtS merchandise. I was bummed by the meet and greet setup, as they escorted us in pairs onto the stage to pose for photos with a portion of the cast. You could chat a little bit if you weren't trying to stumble (my sister and I are not graceful), but we barely had a moment to say anything. I got to chat with Joey, Sandy got Carson. Tia, Dmitry, Anya, Iveta, and Jaymz plus a few other members of the troupe were there, too. I was bummed, because one of the other troupe members (Irina) is a friend of my dance instructor, and I'd hoped to bring him his hello and meet her. But she wasn't onstage for photos.
My sister and I really enjoyed a lot of the music, and bought music when we got back to our ipods. We were so pumped up from the show energy after that we bounced around the casinos and our hotel. It took a while to calm down enough to go to bed!
Iveta: I was a fan of hers on SYT, but after seeing her dance in person--wow! She is a beautiful dancer, and has big, expressive eyes and some seriously long legs.
She does a waltz with Ryan De Lillo (SYT) where she occasionally flies through the air. She moved so beautifully; there was never a bumpy moment when she took off into the air or returned to Ryan (not only were the two of them amazingly smooth, but that was insane harness control!). It was just this beautiful flowing waltz from beginning to end.
Ryan had a wonderful balance of being a great dancer while not constantly taking the spotlight. Yet he still shows a bunch of charisma. I think he ended up with a bigger role (more like "professional" than "troupe") because Artem was out. To watch a tall, strong guy dance so beautifully -- be still my heart! I spent more time watching Ryan than Dmitry (who I really liked on SYT and DWtS but imo gets overshadowed by his female partners, even in this show).
I'm so glad we got to see the show, and am glad to read the posts that it may continue! It really fits Vegas. I'd definitely see it again. (Tristan's there 'til July? Maybe I can talk a different sister into a short trip...)

It sure sounds like Dmitry had a lot of dances!! He's my second favorite of the pros that have been on DWTS (after Tristan.) And I'm glad to hear that Sabrina was great. I wasn't a big fan but I have a feeling she's gonna be on All Stars, and I read that she's been partnered with Tristan in Vegas. Hey maybe Mark will have more than one returning celeb and Tristan will be with Sabrina. Somehow I have a feeling I'll like her better with him :)
I'm so happy that Carson's a big hit. I adored him on DWTS. He's such a natural and fun performer. This show has been amazing for him - and it looks like for Sabrina as well!
I heard Artem got hurt and went home early - and in a picture I saw, he was dancing with Sabrina, so that supports the scoop I read that she was partnered with Tristan now. Also Pasha Kovalev was there I think at one time - was he there when you went? I think they're both on tour now in England - well, Artem is for sure. I think it has something to do with Strictly Come Dancing - Pasha and Artem are both pros on that show.
Anyway, if you think of any more details, I'm all ears!! Sorry your meet and greet didn't work out! I've heard sometimes you don't get much time with the stars but I guess after doing a show, they'd be exhausted if they spent a long time there afterwards. I went to one with Lacey and Tristan and felt sorry for them - they spent more than two hours just standing there taking pictures with people and talking to them - and this was after a 3 hour show though they didn't dance much in that particular one. Still, they must have been exhausted.
ETA CONFIRMATION OF EXTENSION OF VEGAS SHOW! From Twitter:
@armenway: "We are officially extended until beginning of August ))) yahoo #dwtslv"
No word that I know of about whether Tristan will continue - he was originally scheduled just thru July 7. He said in an interview, I think near the end of DWTS on tv, that he was planning a trip home to Ireland this summer, so I would guess he won't stay past the 7th but who knows?
And because of the timing, I'm thinking this was Lacey's "fantastic news" as it seems a bit early for the pros to hear they'll be on All-Stars in the Fall, but it's possible it could be either (or something else altogether.)

One running gag in the show... Carson gets flirty with a male audience member. For whatever reason, he was more interactive with the guy he picked from the first show we saw. Carson was even in his lap at one point! But throughout the show he'd make asides to Carlos. Carlos also ended being one of the contestants in the dance contest.
Lacey and Kyle really seem to get on well. From expressions on their faces in their numbers to how she treated him during the dance contest, she appears to consider him a little brother, and relishes all that big sisters can get away with.

Lance may have had more ability, but Kyle was her best partner, bar none.

The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of celebrities and established pros in the show. I would think they'd be clamoring for the opportunity to appear for a month, but apparently not. Which may also be the reason they haven't been able to put a tour together.

I don't much care about the celebrities, but I would be bummed out if I attended the show and there weren't many recognizable pros on the show. I know there are several SYTYCD alumni performing and I would enjoy seeing them, but if my favorite DWTS pros weren't there, I would be very disappointed.

I hope this doesn't cause you any problems: at this moment (and these things change - Dmitry was signed up to do the Niceville Florida show with Lacey on June 14, but Tristan and Peta took their places, and it wasn't announced till close to show-time), but as of now, Dmitry is on an ad which says he's performing in San Francisco at a show called "Ballroom With a Twist" - July 26-29. Here's the text from the ad and a link to it:
July 12-15 features “Dancing with the Stars’” celebrity pro dancers
Jonathan Roberts and Anna Trebunskaya.
July 26-29 features “Dancing with the Stars” celebrity pro dancers
Peta Murgatroyd and Dmitry Chaplin.

It might be possible to call the Tropicana for confirmation of Dmitry's (and Tristan's) performance dates and maybe if your heart's set on Dmitry and he IS going to be in SF, maybe they would let you swap dates and go a bit earlier to be sure to see him, without charging you any more, if your schedule allows? And maybe he'll return to Vegas for the July 30-Aug 5 shows. Tristan went back to Vegas immediately after his NY and Florida shows - I'm not sure he even had one day off.
Tia Carrera also tweeted on 6/21 that she was not staying for the extended time that DWTS-LV is going to be at the Trop (through August 5). She said, "See me before July 7th!"

When I read Carson teasing that he might get his dance shoes back on for All-Stars this Fall, I thought about that rumor from Robin Leach (who first said they were extending till August) that there's going to be a new Vegas edition that starts at the same time the DWTS tv show starts. Wonder if that's what Carson means, rather than competing?

Currently appearing in not one, but two Las Vegas shows, Fatone just may be one of the busiest guys working in the Entertainment Capital of the World. From now until July 29, fans can catch him hosting “The Price is Right Live” at Bally’s—his fourth time hosting the popular stage show in Las Vegas—and appearing in the hit show “Dancing with the Stars: Live in Las Vegas,” which recently extended its run at the Tropicana until Aug. 5.

"I just confirmed doing the #dwts show in Vegas at the Tropicana hotel starting july 22 for a week. I'm looking fwd to it..."
And the show ends on August 5, so they'll cope with the temporary assignments, I guess. Some audiences might be disappointed if there's only one regular DWTS star - but I don't think there have been any performances with none at all (I think Dmitry was there still while Lacey was out with her hurt ankle.)

When I first saw her tweet, I wondered if she'd been told she'd be in the all-star season on tv, but I've never figured out if some of the pros find out sooner than a couple days before the public announcement. I *think* sometimes some of them do, like Derek or Cheryl, because they've made early comments in the past suggesting they know, at least Cheryl has. It's also possible Lacey's been told she'll be in Vegas in September, but I bet they'd all rather be on the television.
It makes sense that as soon as the show is sure they'll want a pro, they'd let them know, just to ensure that they start planning to make everything work out well, and just to be compassionate - yet they can't tell all the pros because they don't know for sure early on about the entire slate, just certain ones, but it's a bit cruel to let the cat out of the bag about the ones who are wanted from the earliest planning stages, so if they do tell some of them early, they probably tell them to keep it secret.
If I were a producer and wanted as few last-minute glitches as possible, I'd let the pros know as soon as possible that I needed them in the next season.
ETA: Tony Dovolani will be in the Vegas show as "guest host" August 1-5. On July 23-26 Mark Ballas will return to join the cast. And Chelsie Hightower tweeted on July 24:
"Excited to announce ill be dancing in the Vegas show July 30 through August 5. Come see me and give me giant bear hug!"
