This "spin-off" of Jerseylicious begins June 3rd at 9:00 PM.

Style Network to Premiere 'Jerseylicious' Spin-off 'Chicagolicious' Sunday June 3

LOS ANGELES – April 3, 2012 – The Style Network continues to explore the fascinating subculture of all things glam and beauty in the new docu-series “Chicagolicious” which premieres Sunday, June 3 at 9pm ET/PT. Produced by Endemol USA, the creator and executive producers of Style’s #1 hit series “Jerseylicious,” this 10-episode series takes viewers to the Windy City to follow AJ Johnson who owns AJ’s of Chicago, and whose clientele includes a who’s who of actors and models, including Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett and Iman. With his staff of hair stylists and makeup artists, AJ looks to expand his business nationally by servicing more elite clientele and solidifying his place in Chicago society. “Chicagolicious” will premiere after “Jerseylicious,” which in its fourth season is enjoying its most-watched season to-date among Total Viewers (591,000), more than tripling the network’s 1Q12 primetime average, according to Nielsen. For more information, visit www.myStyle.com. Follow us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/myStyle and https://twitter.com/StyleNetPR.

“Jerseylicious has become appointment television for Style's passionate viewers, and with Chicagolicious, we have found an eclectic set of characters, including the beautiful city of Chicago, to deliver a new twist and expand our top performing franchise series,” said Salaam Coleman Smith, President, The Style Network.

Reading the cast descriptions, it looks like Katrell and Valincia are going to be this show's version of Tracy and Olivia.

This show is 10x better than Jerseylicious. Valencia (sp?) is too much.

anyone watching/ still watching this show?

I find Valencia's cahracter to be over the top. Just wow, if that is really her personality.

I like AJ. He knows what he wants and seems to have a good head and eye for business.

Mcray and Austin work nicely as a team. They are too funny together.

That Jennifer girl, I really hope to see less of her. Seems to me she is going to be willing to participate in everything to gain exposure for herself.

Does anyone know if AJ's orginal salon was open to all hair types or if thats something they did for the show?

Does anyone know Austin's ethnicity? Or does she just drown in bronzer?

She drowns in bronzer!! Maybe it was an attempt to make her look more ethnic and fit in with the all black cast? I don't get her look at all.

She does over do it on the Bronzer. I also think the way she speaks is an act.

I watch this show, and I love it. I LOL through most of the show and I do believe that Valencia is that over the top, she's fucking nuts. Normally, I would find such behavior to be a turn off, but for some reason it just has me cracking up, the woman is sooo threatened by "youth"and anyone getting too close to AJ, for fear of being replaced. I love all the characters, Howard, when what's her name was flashing him the number signals for inappropriate behavior, too funny.

Austin, the bronzer may be too much, but I do buy her speaking the way she does, especially if she's spending a lot of time in that salon. I don't think she ever had the diction of say what's her name? AJ's best friend who is staying with him? Austin seems like someone who may have always had a little what I like to call twang in her diction. So, I really don't think she's faking it, with the way she speaks.

I would love it if Tabatha stopped by this salon, you know she'd find room for improvement even though business seems to be pretty good if not great. I mean her going up against Valencia, good stuff IMO, because Valencia is demanding way too much attention.

Oh, and I was so happy for McCray when he won at the hair show, even though it was runner up. It still got him noticed.

Valencia definitely has a fear of being replaced. If she continues to carry on the way she does she may just be replaced as a result of her own actions not Katrel's or Mcrays. She is a crack up for sure.

I like that Q doesnt tolerate the bullshit between Valencia and Katrel. Someone needs to keep them in check.

I agree with Nikki and everyone esle who thinks thats it's in the best interest of the company for Howard to tone down his flirtation or to put a stop to it completely. Instead of asking Howard what he thought of his actions or the staff, Nikki or AJ should have sought the clients opinions since they are the one's directly affected by his actions.

I was hoping that Mcray won first play, but runner up isnt bad either. Im glad he got noticed too.

side note * -The going green episode was cringe worthy. AJ couldnt you have seemed a little bit more interested in the cause and less concerned about the money/benefits? I thought Nikki was great at selling the green board on the products that they acquired. She is a definite asset to the company.

Edited for grammar.

Oi! I'm so happy to find this thread...

I love Chicagolicious! Ok, Austin was killing me when she was on the date with the football player
and he was too sweet to say, "get the hell out of here!" She acted like a child, talking about everything
she don't like..I was like, "stop it!' and enjoy yourself. The child act was not cute!

I like McCray and I was hoping he won first place also but runner up is good for his first time.

Valencia is over the top and I was hoping she'd tone it down when the alderman was arriving and how
come McCray never heard of alderman's or whatever they call them...???

I do like Nikki and Valencia and their hair is rocking and I love their fashion...they are pretty much always
on point!

I can't even begin to express how surprised I am that I love this show. I couldn't get through 5 minutes of its Jersey-counterpart. I decided to tune into the first episode, figuring it might be better than the aforementioned mess. It certainly couldn't be any worse. It's appointment viewing for me now.

I laughed hard at the first 'MyBooWess'. And then AJ kept saying it, and I kept laughing. That was too funny. And then when 'MyBooWes' started vogue-ing? I lost it. And AJ's look of abject horror/embarrassment just made me laugh harder.

On a shallow note, I just have to comment on how friggin' pretty these people are. Like, naturally good looking (yeah, Austin bathes in bronzer, but she's still cute). If any of the salons near me employed people who looked liked like that, I might be inclined to actually splurge on a haircut once in a while. Jesus.

@whyistherumgone - why would your attraction to their looks draw you in for a haircut?

The scenery. I could sit in the chair, be pampered, and wonder at their prettiness. It'd probably end up depressing me, but for a moment it would be nice. I'm sure their skills are up to par, but that can probably be said of any of the salons around me. Prettiness tips the scales. Like I said - shallow.

The MyBooWes mishap between AJ and Macray was too funny! I heard "my boo-esque". Im glad that it was clarified.
Wes is definitely a pretty boy. I can see why Macray is attracted to him.

I was also laughing at the looks AJ was giving him at the party. Seriously? You're throwing a party right? I loved when Niki helped him to realize that Wes was enjoying himself like he was supposed to. AJ can get so wrapped up in the business aspect of his salon that he forgets about everything else that is supposed to matter.

I liked Q's husband. Good looking guy. I hope the two of them are able to make their marriage work.

So the only originals to AJ's salon are Valencia, the cousin and the barber? Everyone gets along so well minus Katrell and Valencia.

"Myboowes" was hilarious!!!

I agree, AJ basically let the night become about the Ebony magazine appearance instead of his birthday. Calling people having fun a "circus"? Lol. I'm glad he let loose and had fun at the end it was his birthday after all.

One episode without Valencia and Katrell drama! Yay.

I tend to be the same way; the way the stylists look might mirror the way I want to look--or not. I figure if they can be edgy and creative with their own looks, maybe they can work the same magic on me. Case-in-point: as a teenager, I HATED going to the hairdresser, but I had to go to this particular one because she did it at a super discount--and she was my grandma's best friend, Miss Flossie Jean. Not exactly stylish for a teen in the '80's. Instead, I looked like I was *in* my 80's. LOL

It seems like most of these people started working at AJ's 6 months ago. I notice some other stylists in the background working on clients. I wonder how they feel about being left out of the "cast."

I really loved what MaCray and Austin produced for the masquerade ball. Their work was stunning and much more better than what Valencia and Katrell did. I cant really blame Katrell though. She couldn't get the work she wanted done.

I love Howard's event. It turned out good.

I dont think that producer of the talk show really liked AJ and only went along with choosing him because that lady wanted him too.

I changed my mind about Jennifer. She appears to be a good assest to the AJ's salon. She has great ideas on how to bring in more money into the company.

I liked seeing Howard develop his brand. Hopes he continues to success in the workshops he does.

I didnt care much for either of the hairstyles done for the masequrade ball, but it was obvious who won that battle. Macray is good at what he does and I hope he gets more recognition for it.

One thing I like about this salon vs. Jerseylious is that bullshit is not tolerated. Problems get nipped in the bud rather quickly as opposed to letting issues linger and fester.

Im enjoying this show very much.

The man showed up to the lunch with huge ass earrings and a girly scarf, and 'hunty' and 'chile' are a regularly part of his vocabulary. If mama doesn't know that 'Mean Shoulder Piece McCray' is gay, I will be extremely surprised. McCray doesn't seem like the insensitive type who'd come out to the world before he'd come out to his mother given how close they are. She knows and she likely doesn't care. I loved their easy rapport during their lunch with Austin.

It's a shame more people don't discuss this show. I guess not enough drama. I will say when Macray was telling the story about seeing a leprechaun in the woods back home when he was younger, I was no good. He's the hidden treasure of reality tv.

Yes I had to run in here to reply. I've lurked for so long. This is one of my favorite reality shows. I enjoy the whole cast. So proud of Mrs. Diva Valencia (sp) for stepping up and helping Austin. Lol when AJ kept reminding Austin that those Irish girls don't want all that mess on their face. Leave it at hOme darling.

OMG McCray is a slice of apple pie in heaven. Each person fills a specific spot on the show perfectly. My fav. Hair show on TV. We see that AJ and crew work hard and go thru normal things. I've only been natural since Jan. so to see the support for natural on TV is wonderful. Tired of black hair shows always about weaves *cough* Kim LA Hair *cough*.

You guys aren't the only ones watching. I enjoy the show as well. Love that natural hair is being represented! The whole Katrell and Valincia(that's how she spells it) drama didn't interest me. I enjoy the show when they're all getting along and laughing with and at each other. I loved when Mcray and Valincia had the "counseling" aura reading session with Niki. That scene and the bar scene after was hilarious, I could tell Valincia really likes Mcray. They both really enjoyed that mantra! I do enjoy Mcray but am confused with his storyline, you mean to tell me that he has never told his mother that he is gay, or that his mother doesn't have a clue?

I think Austin and her grandmother are adorable. Q is okay but not really interesting, next week will be more of her being wooed by another salon and looks boring. I'd rather watch and follow the actual stylist in the salon, I wouldn't even mind watching and listening to Niki. She is a very calming person.

Sorry but the one thing that I do not enjoy is AJ's voice! It sounds like it's painful for him to talk. Was he a heavy smoker? Can he get that fixed? It's like nails on a chalk board for me specially when he is yelling.

As a whole I enjoy the show and will continue to watch.

Ok, I know it's been about a month since anybody posted but I just had to tell yall lol.

I was procrastinating, looking at old judge shows on youtube when I came across Niki! Apparently she has a daughter damn near taller than her and she hadn't paid for her braces.
Supposedly the dentist put the vid up, said he wanted his money but knew People's Court was the only way to get it. He also said he thought she knew she would lose but was aware that the show pays the fee so it would be a win win situation.
