I didnt see a thread for this new show so I thought I would start one.

I caught the first half of the premier on demand and I thought it was pretty good. It was strange seeing Hal Sparks in a kids show and I have to say the idea that he and the mom got married with him never bringing up the lab rats in the basement was a little out there but overall, it was a decent way to spend a half hour.

Yeah, just watched the two parts, and I was pleasantly surprised. Nothing exceptional, or to write home about, but the cast is likeable, and for once in a tween show, parents ! That seem to be relatively smart ! Amazing !

I just watched a marathon of this show and I really liked it. Leo kept reminding me of the kid that played Chris on Everybody Hates Chris. I discovered that's because he is the younger brother of the actor that played Chris. It does kind of draw me out of the scene when he sounds like Chris. He even played baby Chris twice on Everybody Hates Chris.

A short season but the cast is really good. Love Spike.

I like the show, but I can't help but feel the sitcom nature is holding it back.

If it was a superhero-y action show that injected humor into their situations, it'd be near perfect.

I think that's why "Rats On A Train" is my favorite episode so far. It took a serious approach, but still had humor, which helped ease up the tension a little.

Is anyone else excited for the new season starting in February?

I hope this season will be a little more action-oriented. I love the introduction of a villain in Marcus. It adds another layer to the show, having an antagonist like that.

I enjoy the show and am excited. Even though it took till the end to introduce a villain, I'm glad they did---again I love the show, but I thought it got a bit old for the first half of the season---with the "Rats" helping Leo fit in/become popular, or Leo helping them fit in in general. It picked up the last half when we started getting more "mission" oriented episodes.

The show kind of fills the void of the cancellation of Aaron Stone ---am I the only one who watched that?

Does Disney usually start seasons in February and last till November (with a few breaks along the way)? IIRC, that was the layout for Season 1?

There is no rhyme or reason to Disney Channel seasons, from what I can tell. They tend to space them out for 9 or 10 months, or sometimes even a whole year. So we will probably get new episodes, off and on, for most of this year.

Has the new season started, yet? I don't have cable, anyway, so even if it did, i wouldn't be able to watch, unless they put them on a Hulu, or Netflix, or the Disney XD Site.

Oh, God, no! I loved that show, and still think the reasoning for it's cancellation was complete and utter bullshit.

New season started last night (Monday, Feb 25th).

Man, Marcus is kind of sick, isn't he? I didn't think they would go with the bad guy actually trying to kill someone on a Disney show.

DC's gone to the I'm-gonna-kill-you well a couple of times fairly recently with ANT Farm and Pair of Kings, and as implemented here the actual attempt was suitably "light," but when Marcus showed up at the house and intimidated Leo...that was actually something we don't see, even on the few other action shows DXD's done (okay, I'm not absolutely certain if Aaron Stone didn't do it, but that show was an anomaly unto itself by DXD standards). I'm definitely curious how long they're going to let Leo stay under his thumb, but at this point I'm more curious as to who Marcus's "father"/boss is.

ETA: how could I forget TRON: Uprising, which was also a fairly serious anomaly unto itself (and animated to boot).

Aaron Stone got pretty heavy at times with it's villains with Elias Powers, who was essentially a tech savvy Hannibal Lecter without the cannibalism.

And then there was Damaged and the other mutants... let's just say it was implied that one of their victims (who was also a bad guy) wasn't exactly left in one piece.

I hope the episode gets uploaded to Disney XD's site soon. I don't have cable, so I missed it.

I actually like it being more intense. Having Marcus truly be dangerous kind of ups the stakes and makes the tension more real. I hope they will go the action/adventure route with this show more this season, instead of just having the kids be teenagers with relationship problems and stuff.

The big reveal of Marcus being bionic would have been more shocking if they hadn't already shown it in the previews.

I'm definitely curious how long they're going to let Leo stay under his thumb, but at this point I'm more curious as to who Marcus's "father"/boss is.

The big chair, the cameras, never seeing his face...clearly his boss is Dr. Claw from Inspector Gadget. <nods>

Last Time Lord --- Wasn't it also implied Damaged and the mutants took out the Omega Defiance, and they showed him (or showed as much as a kids/teen show could show) take out General Cross--if I remember correctly.

Oh, God, no! I loved that show, and still think the reasoning for it's cancellation was complete and utter bullshit.

Ditto, especially since it was considered---when it premiered, the flagship show for the then new Disney XD channel in 2009.

Man, Marcus is kind of sick, isn't he? I didn't think they would go with the bad guy actually trying to kill someone on a Disney show.

88Keys --- Introducing a villain(s) was just what the show needed. I loved season 1, but thought the first half of the season was getting stale with Leo helping the "Rats" fit in at school and vice versa. I also did like a bit on continuity with the time of the series (being a year since the show started and being Davenport and Tasha's anniversary.)

I think the season started on a good note and hope it gets better. And thank goodness for DVR, I knew it started this month but missed the premiere---have the series set up to record since the first episode last year.

That's what I was talking about. Cross just got pulled away like something out of a horror movie. It was awesome!

Just managed to catch the episode. I'm at my parents, and while I don't have cable, they do, so yay for that and yay for OnDemand.

A few stand out things:

1) I really hate the laugh track. It took me out of every intense moment every single time.

2) They couldn't have found a better way for Marcus to out himself to Leo over having sabotaged the car? Him blurting out the Pacific Ocean destination flies in how he's been established in previous episodes.

Adding a villain is exactly what this show needed, and I'm excited to see how it develops from here.

I hope the others find out that Marcus is evil in the next episode. I really hate storylines where one person knows that someone is evil and nobody else believes him.

I hope this doesn't get dragged out too long over the season. I also hope Marcus doesn't eventually switch sides/allegiances, that will be a bad cop out.

Oh, I totally agree. I like the darker aspect of the show. I was just a little surprised that they went there. But I'm glad they did.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that the others are so quick to believe Marcus over Leo, when they barely know him. And I feel bad for Leo know; he's in a tough spot. I hope the truth comes out soon.

Is anyone still watching this? I find I'm enjoying the new season for the most part, except for the episodes that prominently feature the principal. I find her really petty and annoying and immature, and I can't believe she is allowed to be in charge of a high school.

And I do kind of wish Bree would stop complaining so much. I get that she's a teenager and that's what they do, but hello- you're pretty, you're bionic, and your dad's rich. That's a pretty good life.

That seems to be from the mold they make all principals of Disney Channel/XD shows.

I guess I don't regularly watch any other DC shows that have a principal in them. I do remember the principal on "iCarly" on Nickelodeon, but he was pretty cool.

I wish Principal Perry could be more like the principal on "Strange Days at Blake Holsey High." Kind of an enemy in that she got in the kids way and they had to keep secrets from her, but not a horrible person. She did care about the kids, at least at some level. There is just nothing nice or redeeming about Perry.

I've been DVR'ing them and catching them when I can, I'm about a week behind right now---I think.

I do feel they are overusing the principal, a little could go a long way for Perry.

I also feel like minus the premiere, we've been stuck with filler (I've enjoyed the episodes though) till they get back to the Marcus stuff or any other major event(s).

Disney seems to love "evil" principals based on this show and A.N.T. Farm. I don't think any other current Disney shows have principals that get as much screen time as those two or even any screen time at all. At least not on the shows that I watch.

The only other Disney principal that I remember getting screen time was principal Larrytate on Wizards of Waverly Place. He wasn't evil, but that was several years ago and he didn't get anywhere near as much screen time as the two current "evil" principals.

I think that, whatever school adults (teachers or principals) a DC channel shows, they're always an irritant of some sort towards the main characters. Even if they eventually develop some kind of an affection (Alex and Mr. Larrytate), they seem to always start out that way.
