Hi. We're cousins, and the first team of cousins since Charla & Mirna.

I kinda have a soft spot for them already, as my own cousin and I once tried out for the show. Didn't make it, but still . . .

Nope, I sadly don't like them. I also watched their video and I don't think I'll like them one bit. I don't know what it is, but they are already bugging me a little bit.

I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out to be early fodder. Neither looks all that strong.

I like their bios a lot - I am a sucker for people who cherish and value their educations as these two seem to do.

That said, I have a feeling that they have not traveled much outside of Gulfport (except for the basketball wife, but that seems limited to US<-> Italy). Unless they bring spunk to the table that isn't evident in their profiles, that may be their downfall.

"In the U.S. everyone speaks the same language and has the same culture."

This is from Kerri. No, I don't think she's been out of Gulfport very often. If she doesn't even realize that the U.S. has a variety of cultures, she can't have much experience with other parts of the country.

This is Stacy's husband and his team. Went to Mississippi State. Also from Gulfport. Looks like a guard, from his stats.

The one who jumped out of the plane (I think that's Stacy) is very cute. She did a good job of dealing with her fear, especially since her teammate wasn't there to keep her calm. But with the way some partners freak out their phobic teammates, maybe that helped.

Not sure how I feel about Stacy just yet, but I like Kerri. I give her props for jumping in and helping Kerri with the empanadas when she noticed she was going slowly at it.

Yeah, I'm not sure if they've got the goods to make it very far, but I really enjoy their spunk!

I like this team, but I'm a tad concerned Kerri might have to be a spaz wrangler, and that's a rather draining job when you're trying to focus on racing. Or otherwise have to carry a team member.

I get having a fear of heights, but that's a common staple of the show by now. I didn't think Stacy was the last one on the plane, but she was the last one to go - was that by choice, or just a matter of how they were situated on the plane?

I imagine that the order in which they picked up the Roadblock clue would be the order in which they would leave the plane, unless somebody voluntarily decided to let somebody jump the line. I wouldn't be surprised if Stacy allowed that to happen as she gathered her courage.

Something else I noticed. Kerri & Stacy were shown to be the fourth team to get their clue from the balloons at the starting line, yet they were on the second flight to Argentina. I'm guessing this means they got lost somewhere along the way to LAX. At least they did well on the empanadas task.

There is a insider video that shows Kerri & Stacy changing a flat tire on the way to LAX which would've resulted in not being one of the top 6 teams to the airport.

I might have to take back what I implied about Stacy - she handled herself nicely during the roadblock. She remained focused, and rocked the task. Other than the Team Big Brother, I don't dislike any of the teams. But I really like these two. I'm hoping they'll go far, but time will tell.

I actually find myself rooting for these girls above all others, which definitely wasn't what I was expecting coming into the race. I sort of passed them off as cute but hopeless cannon fodder, but they're really starting to prove themselves to me. It seems that the things that are holding back are mostly luck based incidents (like getting a flat tire on the way to LAX, causing them to miss the first flight or just waiting for the sun to boil their water). When they're on even ground with with other teams they seem quite capable.

So Kerri was their heroine last week, and this week, Stacy is. I think they balance out each other pretty well and be very strong competitors once they start getting over their bad luck.

Their reaction to finding out that they finished in fifth was quite cute, I thought.

I think this team has become my favorite, after Mark and Bopper. I didn't really take to them last week, but in the second episode, they just seemed really appealing. I think it's taking more time to get a sense of the teams this season. But these two are starting to emerge as likable, and I am preferring competence and likability to melodrama and conflict. So... I hope they continue to move up the ranks.

Ditto. I'm thinking that this is the team that other Racers will underestimate. I could do without the cheerleading though.

The only decent piece of female-team casting in the last two series. Or even three depending on how much I think Jenkisha got screwed by editing at any given moment. I hope they can step it up and make it at least somewhat towards the end of the race, because they're very rootable, and a lot of the more competent teams (the Armylliance, Big Brother, maybe Nary & Jamie) aren't really, for me.

I didn't really care for how they helped the meatheads at the Detour, allowing the guys to finish first and hop on an earlier bus to their next destination (even though it ended up being a blessing in disguise). When K/S were babying the guys through the task I was like, "Really, girls...really!?" And then, what do you know...the guys end up finishing first and just leave the girls in the dust. It was aggravating to watch. K/S have to quit being too nice, or else it'll be their undoing.

In this instance, I don't think it was being nice that was a flaw, in this regard. I have a feeling that either they didn't optimize the positioning of their solar oven, or used the entire bottle of water when perhaps the Jersey Boys didn't. Or it could have just been happenstance. If I recall correctly, they were almost, if not completely, finished when the guys approached them, so they didn't really lose anything by helping the guys.

I think racers are in kind of a bind when it comes to things like that - on the one hand - RACE!, but on the other hand, we've seem time and time again how teams have gotten ahead by helping each other, whether it's due to an official alliance or intermittently. Not to mention the perception of being rude (which, as a fellow Southern gal, I could see that being important to them).

I'd prefer teams to do their own thing, but when alliances are quickly established early on (as is common these days), it's unwise NOT to help other teams either, assuming you're not sabotaging yourself in doing so. Who knows if the Jersey boys will reciprocate, though. They seem kind of crappy as racers anyway, so it's entirely possible that Kerri and Stacy wouldn't need their reciprocation.

I liked their leg last week, and I thought it was wise for them to give up on the Stacked Up Detour this week when they saw how hard it'd be before they even did it. But Kerri's repeated failures at the Roadblock got me back to thinking they're little more than cannon fodder once more and will be gone very soon.

I knew it was a mistake for Kerri to do the roadblock. Not because she's incompetent, but having a curly afro doesn't lend itself well to balancing glass bottles on your head. Of course, I assume she didn't know what the task entailed beforehand. She was clearly struggling, and truly, I thought she might incur a penalty for breaking too many bottles. Still, she didn't seem to make a fuss about it, just kept going until she got it. They're still my favorites, so glad they're still in it.

I thought the biggest problem with her doing the Roadblock was that Stacy kept shouting out 'encouragement' at just the wrong moment - there were at least a couple of times when Kerri was doing the final move where she was laying down and just at that moment Stacy decided to shout out "Woo, yeah! You can do it!" or similar, and the bottle immediately fell. I think if I was precariously balancing a bottle on my head and having to do movements I had to concentrate to do right, the last thing I'd need would be my teammate shouting and hollering at me.

I really like Kerry & Stacy. I think they were smart to cut their losses when they saw what the watermelon task was all about and I think it speaks to who they are as people when they didn't confront Bopper & Mark at the harp task. I didn't mind their cute little "All bets are off!" segment in the cab, but if they would have dwelled on it all leg I would have been annoyed. I'm still trying to figure out what their strength is, though. They don't seem to really have one, except long division.

This team played that watermelon-task-switch very smartly, noting all the collapsed melon pyramids and realizing that it must be really tough. That kind of calm logic can help out a lot on the Race--I'm thinking these two could be a tougher team to beat than we originally thought.

I thought there were a few team members that did that, not just Stacy. That soft cloud of hair isn't ideal for balancing things on your head, especially when that's not something you're used to.

They don't seem to really have one, except long division.

Hey now! That's a strength. Seriously though, they seem to be good at keeping their cool, pinch-hitting for each other, and remaining focused amidst chaos. What I'm concerned about is what happens as other teams are eliminated, and they have to raise their gameplay. They're solid middle-packers, but as the herd thins, that won't be good enough. I've not seen enough to be certain they can pull it out, especially when you have really intense and competitive teams (sprinkled with alpha maleness) like Border Patrol, Big Brother, and Rachel and Dave. Bopper and Mark, even, though their twangs and Bopper's camera-mugging makes them appear more harmless than they are. Plus, there's the other middle-packer team in the Feds, with slightly higher positioning.

But you know, THIS team reminds me of Nat and Kat much more than the Feds. At least, in terms of demeanor. Calm logic, ability to focus, seem to enjoy themselves and each other, and genuinely supportive.

ETA:
Seeing the extra video on the kerfuffle with the twins just made me love them more. I LOVED Stacy's "You can fall back...fall back in your place. 'Cause I am not the one." And Sherri had her back...going in to stand between her and Andrew. Gosh, I hope they make it far. They're plucky without being bitchy.

I'm confused. They were right with the teams when they left the airport. Was it really Kerri's (or was it Stacy's?) driving incompetence that dropped them behind?
