We got some milestones in their relationship this week...the first hug initiated by Emanda (a real one, not a pretend one like in Ep 1x02) and an "I love you" from Nolan!

I loved all the Nolan/Emanda moments this week. Even though I wasn't sold on the Padma/Nolan relationship, my heart just broke for poor Nolan. I hope that they can get him through this.

Nolan and Emanda Scenes from the last two Revenge episodes:

2x19 "Identity" (Part 1): http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Q8d7gLM-w0Q

2x19 "Identity" (Part 2): http://www.youtube.c...h?v=L1ERNk0_Mjs

2x20 "Engagement": http://www.youtube.c...h?v=IUefEFMG_0M

I have to say, despite the moaning and groaning of viewers, one thing Season 2 has had over Season 1 is the progression of Nolan and Emanda's friendship. I really like the place they are at right now.

The Nemily scenes in the Season 3 Premiere were PERFECT. Everything we love about their relationship packed into the very first show :)

(I almost hate to get too giddy because the tides of Revenge always turn and I know I'm going to be moaning and groaning when the show starts reducing their screentime again.)

I love them together.  Seeing her hug him immediately when she picked him up was great.  I love them as family.

The beach scene was brilliant.

One of my now favourite scenes with the both of them.

If "family" means them feeling like an old (rich and gorgeous) married couple, then I love them as family too. ;P

I like how you think, atyleung. After watching the first two episodes of Season 3, I get the impression Nolan is in love with Emily, and knows it, but *for now* he is letting her believe his feelings are purely platonic because she's SO focused on her plans and has no room in her mind or her heart for real love. In the mean time, he's protecting himself by having momentary lovers - no feelings/emotional connections involved. Emily will let him touch her and/or they hug sometimes...which is enough for now.  He understands now that she doesn't love Daniel, so he's not (really) hurt or jealous. She doesn't trust Aidan anymore, and I really think too much has happened for her to have a healthy in love relationship with Jack. He's also way too simple-minded for her. I love that her Infinity box is now kept in a safe in HIS home.

Nolan was at his best in this episode and I liked that Emily did apologise in this one to him.

Hey Nolan,

If you're on a "Tech Time-Out," how do you expect to be helping Emanda?

On the bright side, Emanda still comes over to Nolan's to catch some downtime with him, even though he hasn't been particularly useful lately. I think it's another proof that their relationship is special, because normally Emanda is too Revenge-driven to just "be" with someone.

I understand Nolan feelings about the severe affects Emanda's Revenge has had on their lives, but for him to withdraw and say "I'm done" seems completely out of character.

How many times has Emanda said, "you shouldn't be/have been part of my plans" and given him a way out? And how many times has Nolan followed that up with a rebuttal and adamant that he would be sticking by her side until the end?

And while I know people change, why is Nolan all of a sudden changing NOW? He's been attacked, kidnapped, had his company taken away, his girlfriend killed, and did prison time for false accusations of terrorism, but he wants to step aside NOW for someone he just met?

LoL--yeah its amazing what a hot guy can do.  Meh honestly I think this is how the story is being setup--everyone is starting to question or turn their back on Emily.  I feel it is to setup the who-shot-Emily plot in a few weeks.  I believe the writers are setting all the main characters up this way so that the viewing audience will have no real idea as to who pulls the trigger.  Like last year we all pretty much figured out early on who was going to die midway through the season so I guess they are trying to avoid such an obvious twist this season *shrug*.  Honestly though Nolan is way too loyal to Emily to let her go at this alone.  Yeah he'll be temporarily sidetracked by the new man in his life but something is going to go haywire and he'll be back 100% by Emily's side before too long.  Besides Nolan's not the type of person to just leave a close friend like Ems high and dry.  But I will admit it is nice to see him tell her NO for once.

That makes sense. But still, no matter what happens in their relationship, Nolan would never shoot Emanda (unless it's part of a big plan, but even then...). There's not much mystery there, so creating this rift between them is somewhat pointless. And if the show concocts some reason to have Nolan as the shooter, it would totally be forced and negate everything that has been built up to that point.

But I will admit it is nice to see him tell her NO for once.

On the one hand, I agree. But on the other hand, when Nolan says "NO," I want it to be for a good and/or important reason. And if he can't help her, to come up with alternative solutions (like he did in the premiere episode by parachuting into the party).

By hiding his relationship with Patrick from Emanda, there hasn't even been a situation yet for Nolan to say "NO" to. And who knows, Emanda's changed too over the course of 2 years, maybe she would react differently than he's expecting.

I was hoping that during their dance, Emanda would use the opportunity to say something meaningful and heartfelt to Nolan (especially since she made a point of saying goodbye to Jack and "I love you" to Charlotte), but she acted like nothing significant was happening.

However, I like to think it's because it was too difficult for her to say goodbye to him.

But then again, for Emanda to say she trusts him with her life, that's a pretty big deal for her.

Luckily, Nolan has enough heart for the both of them. Loved the adoring looks and the kiss he gave her before walking away.

I think she didn't bother saying goodbye because she seems to have accepted that Nolan was going to regularly visit her and they were talking about using the last name Ross for her and Aiden so it would be easier for him to visit his 'cousins.' To me, the fact she's willing to do that even though it puts her at risk for discovery is more meaningful than all the goodbyes or I love yous in the world.

I loved Nolan visiting Emily as a candy-striper.  Those two are the only reason I'm still watching this show.

Me too. Loved that seeing Nolan instantly put a smile on Emanda's face and she was even able to crack a joke about his jacket!

So relieved that Nolan was in the know about Patrick's plan...Do you think Nolan turned his back to Patrick (after confessing he knew Patrick was trying to get him drunk) on purpose to give him the opportunity to steal the fake Infinity box?

If so, add "will get knocked out" to the badge of "Best Friend of the Century."

Candy striper Nolan was a hoot.

Fleeting interactions with him and Emily this week but all the more fun though.

While I don't doubt that Nolan would go that far to help Emily I think the getting conked in the head was an unforunate casualty.  Nolan could have easily excused himself to the restroom & given Patrick time to steal the Infinity Box then.

Still glad Ems and Nolan are as strong as ever.  I wonder what sneaky sneak thing Nolan has up his sleeve for Patrick?

I love the bond Emily and Nolan have.  It's the sweetest part of this show to see how much they care for each other.  I hope they have a few more light-hearted scenes down the road because Nolan brings out a lighter side to Emily.  Emily strikes me as being an incredibly sad person underneath her hatred for the Graysons and her love for Aiden and/or Jack.

I love their scenes together, especially when they're scheming together.  I hope we have more scenes with them, whether light-hearted or not, but I especially want to see them after winning some battles.
