While on a hunt, Sam encounters someone from his past; Dean teams up with a quirky hunter named Garth.

I laughed out loud as the exploding wedding cake merged into the snotty Supernatural in the opening credits. I wish they'd keep that title card.

I would have liked this episode more if Crowley had actually given a reasonable explanation why he was ticked at his underling. I can't help but wonder, who the hell would the ripped off souls complain to? I doubt there is a branch of the Better Business Bureau in hell. Maybe they could advertise on Facebook. "Don't make deals with Crossroads Demons. You won't get the ten years they promised. It's a complete ripoff."

Then people could press the like button.

Seriously, Crowley amassing souls for hell would be a good idea. Once the Leviathans took over upstairs, the leader could decide to wipe out demons just for giggles. So, Crowley declaring innocence in the whole deal just seemed suspicious to me. I'm surprised the guys didn't yell "Shenanigans!"

Dean teams up with a quirky hunter named Garth.

I thought Garth kind of sucked. Seriously, I wouldn't have minded him being cannon fodder. This tool gets to live and an awesome character like Rufus bites it? Shenanigans!

Not sure how I felt about that one. It was weird. I didn't really see the point of DJ Qualls's character. Dean could have done all of that by himself.

Without a shadow of a doubt that was the worst episode of this show I've ever sat through. Whoever approved the idea and the execution should be fired. I'm looking at you, Sera Gamble.

Well, that was silly. Silly in a "oh this is ridiculously cheesy while I watch today's soccer match" way, not "ow my eyeballs." Sometimes dumb is entertaining, I guess.

Although why the annulment given that Sam is legally dead and all.

And did any character whatsoever make any mention that, given that Becky's high school friend was a high school friend from high school and therefore possessed by a demon instead of a demon incarnate?

Oh yeah. Possession no longer exists as a victim held captive!

That ship sailed like a million years ago. I stopped caring about the hosts, well, except for Bobby, Sam, and Dean. Everybody else is just monster chow to me now.

Loved, loved the cake!

Becky was annoying, and I wish they talked a bit more about Chuck - just dumped? why not disappeared and couldn't ever find him again?

Loved Sam trying to talk through the gag - I'm sure when they were younger Dean did that a couple of times

Loved Dean's eyerollings

for a filler - this one was pretty filling.

Crowley is beyond awesome. That's all that really needs to be said about Crowley.

That being said, there's a huge problem with this episode, Becky roofied Sam. She roofies him, and Sam still gives her a pep talk, and DJ Qualls' character still wanted to hook up with her. You're freaking kidding me Supernatural, what the hell?

I was all excited my name was used in the episode, as I do whenever I hear/see other mentions of it, but then it was used for a possibly bitchy high school classmate of Becky's, boo!

Other than that, barely even remember what I just watched.

but also, yay Crowley! BABY COME BACK.

Decently good filler.

She met him online, not in high school. And I think Crossroads demons own their own bodies (as seen in Weekend at Bobby's).

I enjoyed this episode. Even though, I with SPN had not ruined the 3 minutes of suspense in the "Previously". Because, the only reason they would show Becky is if she was in the episode.

She roofies him, and Sam still gives her a pep talk, and DJ Qualls' character still wanted to hook up with her.

Becky is that crazy lunatic everyone indulges. I am pretty sure there is probably a trope for her but I dare not go on that website.

I didn't really see the point of DJ Qualls's character. Dean could have done all of that by himself.

Yes, that character was totally pointless -- unless I missed something, there is no reason Dean couldn't have hunted by himself -- not to mention dull, charmless and unfunny. Hopefully the show won't bring him back again.

This whole episode was really really bad. And very revealing of what the show's writers think of the show's fans.

There was stuff I liked and stuff I thought was bad, ridiculously bad.

I liked Crowley showing up and wanting the Winchesters to take out the Leviathins and I really liked Guy, the CRD. I also really liked that Dean saved another PiP. I loved Jensen's facial expressions in this episode and he looked ridicuously gorgeous in this episode. I also liked the ending scene, very mature and grown-up of both of the Winchesters.

I didn't like anything that had to do with Becky. period. at all. It does seem that Garth was a bit of a waste, though the ending scene with him giving Dean a hug was cute.

Sam felt sorry for Becky. She did save his life by ganking the Crossroads Demon. Personally, I would have kicked her so hard she would be wearing her reproductive organs for earrings, but what the hey? A fictional character is a nicer person than I am.

Jensen had some comedy gold scenes in this episode! Loved it! And loved Smart Dean. That was awesome.

DJ Qualls was OK. Nothing great. Kind of surprised they used him so little.

But really, the worst was the Becky stuff. That was horrid. I'm sorry, but there's no excuse for roofing someone and taking away their free will, just because you're lonely. I didn't approve of it before in that other episode, don't approve of it now. It doesn't make a character sympathetic, it just makes them a rapist.

Kind of sick to death of Sam being "under the influence" and dissing Dean, and picking anyone else over Dean. But glad that Sam admitted at the end that he does still need Dean to watch is back, as witnessed in this episode.

Soooo glad that scene Jensen was talking about with Dean saying Sam can take care of himself was so innocuous after all! That look of Dean's at the end was interesting. Does Dean even know how to take care of himself? He's had to sublimate himself so much since his childhood, and has turned into an uber caretaker, I don't even think he knows how to take care of himself.

It will probably be a dropped plotline, but it will be interesting to see if they pursue it.

I now know I can suppress my gag reflex for an entire hour, but thankgoodness for the respites the commercials afforded. This inanity was written by a ninth grade student was it not?

I liked the exploding wedding cake in the title card but that was about all.

Sam,
You do realize you can spit out a gag that is stuffed into your mouth, don't you?

Dean,
I loved that you can see your care-taking of Sam may be coming to an end soon and it's time to look after yourself for a change.

Becky,
Sad, pathetic little Becky, so much like so many of us. I'm glad you had the backbone to do the right thing even though it cost you wanted the most, but I'm not pleased at further slings and arrows directed at the fandom.

Garth,
Completely extraneous and not remotely funny. Dean could have just as easily done this by himself and I will always wonder why he didn't.

Crowley,
So good to see you again! The enemy of my enemy is my friend again, isn't he? Glad to see you are betting on the winning team. Nice to see you understand it's better to not get in the way of the heavy hitters, but please feel free to offer any help you can.

I was curious about that. I was thinking that was kind of dumb. I just wasn't curious enough to stuff a rag in my mouth and see if I could spit it out.

I thought this episode was going to be a lot funnier than it was. I wasn't really feeling it. Then again, I've never really cared much for the Becky character. She really is a loser. I really didn't care for the fact that Sam somewhat forgave her at the end.

I didn't really see the point of DJ Qualls's character.

He was a poor substitute for Cas, who would have been Dean's partner in the past if Sam was unavailable. That was my only thought. Otherwise he was forgettable.

I didn't think it was all bad. The highlight was the exploding wedding cake though. Nothing topped that.

Crowley was awesome. Although he mentioned the head leviathan, he didn't bother to tell the brothers where to find him. Afraid to maybe? He'll help the brothers by keeping his demons away, but won't stick his neck out farther.

Crowley was awesome, the rest of it? Dreck. I've rolled my eyes at the nutty part of the fandom over the years but hey, I'm entitled; I'm part of it.

The show doesn't have mocking privileges.

Okay, I'm going to find some bricks and mortar and rebuild that goddamn fourth wall.

And Sam? You can spit a sock out. Just saying.

Is this the Show's way of telling us it feels date-raped by its fans?

I kinda really super hated this? It seemed like the show wanted to say that drugging the person of your dreams is 1) wrong and 2) LOL-worthy. The show did attempt to make Becky sympathetic by saying that she thought it would only work if Sam really loved her ... but then it had her completely oblivious about having done anything wrong. And also, it was funny! Didn't you see the funny? It's invisible, but drink the Kool-Aid and –

And also, I wanted to hear that Chuck disappeared or something.

I didn't much like 7x03, but I think this is the first episode of the season to make me really, really grumpy. Not even Crowley could salvage this one for me.

I didn't really see the point of DJ Qualls's character.

I actually like when Dean has random surprise!hunter friends that are clearly nowhere near his league but he lets them follow along anyway. He gets so exasperated but looks out for them regardless. Like whasisname in S3. Yeaaah. And more importantly, this partner lived even though he falls into the "too dumb to survive" category.

Besides, I also picked up a "See! I have a new partner to make you jeaous now too!"

I thought the episode was OK as filler and there were some funny moments(Dean's reaction to Sam's announcement he was getting married/his "average lifespan of your hookups" comment). I think I've got a new favorite "dress up" outfit - Dean with the sweater over his shirt and tie and under his suit jacket? Yeah that works, definitely works. He looks like a really hot English professor when he's dressed like that. :D (Dean flirting at the start was cute too and Dean saving the idiot wife who sold her soul so her husband could get ahead at work-in a job the husband didn't even want-was so nice, she may have been a selfish nitwit but that was a big part of the Dean Winchester I remember falling for in Season 1, he'd risk his life saving the idiots to, plus it was a nice "action hero" tackle:)

I was surprised they used DJ Qualls so little but I liked his hug at the end. I think he could be OK if they wanted to bring him back once in a while. There wasn't much here(though Dean's "no, no" to him when he was getting ready to mack on Becky was good:)) so it's hard to say. The character wasn't even really necessary.

The main problem with the ep was too much Becky, not enough Winchester.

I did like Crowley's sort of "vote of confidence" in the brothers - because that is kind of what it is, he's saying he can't do anything but he's willing to think they might be able to.

I also have to say I liked when Dean was talking to the demon guy and trying to find stuff and holding the demon-killing knife on him, he'd have gotten him if Crowley hadn't shown up(and it's not like Crowley is planning on doing anything good to the demon, demon might have preferred death from how it sounds).

Yeah definitely agree, and the guy you are thinking of was Richie from Sin City--from Queens. LOL

Outside of the Bachmann eyes, I find Becky really cute. Didn't feel too sorry for her though.

The wedding cake explosion was great, the episode was just there.

Welcome back Crowley and thank you for making at least five minutes of this episode great. Mark Shepard looked good.

The one thing I wanted was to see Bobby's reaction to Sam getting married. Didn't get that. Meh

Exactly. The entire thing felt staged to me. How did Becky know about Vegas week? The Crossroad Demon's 'dismay' at Sam Winchester being Becky's one twu wuv was ridiculous. She'd never be able to keep her mouth shut about who the potion was for.

I don't know, maybe it was an annual tradition, like the second week in November or something. Considering the source, Becky, it had to be something in the dumb books. I don't think she's that talented of a stalker.

Or maybe the crossroads demon told her.

shrugs....
