Dearly Departed - Characters that are no longer with us

So for the first beloved zombie, Morgan's wife Jenny. For Andrea's younger sister Amy. For Dale's previous buddy Jim, poor Otis, and the ones who will die in the future.
In the Pilot, Morgan talks about how Jenny got hurt (by a zombie presumably) and got the fever, and died. Then came back as a zombie. On the show, she still has memories of where she was last so she goes up to the house and tries to open the door and get in (which is the creepy doorknob turning shot in the walking dead intro). Later, Morgan calls to Jenny as he tries to shoot her and put her out of her misery. She was a beautiful lady (Morgan looks at pictures of them) before she turned. As far as we know, she's still out there, wandering around. Morgan can't bring himself to put her down.
Amy's death(s) are the most striking pictured thus far. She leaves the campfire to use the Winnebago restroom and emerges to get bitten on the arm by a walker. She then gets bitten really bad on the neck, as a stumbling, screaming big sister Andrea watches. Andrea cradles Amy's body through the night and to the next day when Amy comes back alive as a zombie, then shoots her only sister through the head, killing her for good.
Later on, we find out that camp member Jim got bitten during the attack. Jacqui busts him and he is forced by the group to reveal bit marks on his chest. He gets the fever as they rush to the CDC, and they end up leaving him by the side of the road to die as he looks up at the sky.
Otis is an EMT living on Hershel's farm. He is shooting at a deer and fragments of the bullet that take down the deer strike Carl in the torso. Though it was an accident, Otis takes full responsibility for this and fashions a plan to help save Carl's life, by scavenging medical supplies needed to complete Carl's surgery. On the way back with the supplies, a wounded Otis is shot in the leg and left for dead by a wounded Shane, who uses Otis as zombie bait to safely escape with the equipment. Otis' wife back at the farm is devastated to learn of Otis' death.
Other deaths were less ceremonious. Jacqui notably 'opted out' with Jenner during the CDC explosion. Sexually and physically abusive Ed was killed by walkers during the Camp Zombie Dinner Bell walker attack, then 'mulched' by his wife Carol.

Plus she was some kind of city administrator and had a tough personality. It pisses me off that she was the strongest woman and that of all the people, they chose her to be the one to opt out. The rest of the female characters just suck.
While I appreciate the inclusion of Glenn and T Bone, it kind of sucks that they had one strong black female character and they killed her off.

Unfortunately, I think those very qualities led her to opt out. I kind of resented losing her, too, but it helped a bit that I do believe it was consistent with the character.

And while we're talking about the deceased and sexism - Jenner came at our lovely bunch of morons with a military grade weapon. When they asked him what was up with that, he said there were a bunch laying around and he quickly familiarized himself with them. Andrea has a law degree. :dons Vizzini hat: and in getting that degree she must have studied, and in studying wouldn't she have the skills to be able to learn things quickly? So Jenner can be safely inside the CDC doing experiments and learn how to use a military issue gun, but Andrea has had all this time and can't use a fucking handgun are you kidding me?

Step 1: Aim
Step 2: Shoot
There are obviously nuances and a learning curve, you don't become a good shot without training and practice, and clearly Andrea needs to learn gun care and maintenance, but in the heat of the moment, facing down a walker, she's got a good chance of killing it off for real, or at least slowing it down. No reason why they can't teach as they go as opposed to waiting for some lovely perfect downtime when they can spare trainers and bullets at group target practice.
I deeply miss Jacqui, just for the sake of having a strong, smart woman on hand. And a shout-out to Morgan's wife and Dwayne who's last name I don't remember (the zombie that Glenn and Rick wore as a disguise in S1/E2). They were briefly mentioned, but scored millions in humanizing the walkers, and reminding us and the characters that these monsters were once people with jobs and hobbies and loved ones. Touching moments, but never saccharine.

I miss some of the notable Zombies the best, such as Stumpy from the Gym, Pinata Guy, Bloatis, Sammy Hagar(Daryl's Dissection Project) Popeye the RV Man and Baseball-Arrow Head.

But they aren't dead, are they?I liked Morales and his family from the little we saw of them.
They were supposed to leave on a different direction so I assume they are safe.

I'm so, so sorry for giving up on her. I just knew she was dead since the moment Daryl found that doll, yet I can't help but to feel sorry for the confirmation, regardless if this seemed the only logical outcome to me.Sophia finally goes on the list.

The saddest part is that she died all alone, scared out of her mind, clutching her little doll and probably crying for her mommy.
And that's after her short, sad life witnessing abuse and possibly being abused herself. One thing this show does really well is to show the enormous sadness of the ZA, you don't really see that in other zombie films. I noticed it first with the Bicycle Girl, and now with Sophia. It's beyond tragic to contemplate that they were all just ordinary people who died hideous deaths, and are now doomed to walk around as soulless husks feeling nothing but confusion and hunger.

And somewhere, Morales' daughter who tearfully gave Sophia the doll is probably safe and sound, watching old DVDs. She must have known Sophia would end up dead with only these dummies to protect her.

It looked awesome as shot/edited for the final cut! There's a "making of" clip online and it turns out her shamble is all about trying not to step on the extras without looking down. Apparently the first few takes she kept stepping on people and saying, "sorry!" which is very un-zombie-like. It was very funny. She seems like a great kid, kind of a shame she essentially got laid off.Sophia had the best zombie shamble

Maybe not though! There's always the possibility of flashbacks, or dream sequences, etc. She is a great kid. When the season premiere was coming up she tweeted about how she'd found a dress for her "date" with Norman Reedus. Too cute! She seems like a great kid, kind of a shame she essentially got laid off.
