Brides of Beverly Hills: Get Your Botoxed Brides Here

The designer was a bit of a pill. I can understand being a bit hurt when people don’t like your designs, but at the end of the day those people are your potential customers, and the bridal shop’s customers. It’s unfair to put someone in the position of feeling they are obliged to try on only one line of dresses because the designer is right there. That was one irritating family, though. When the mother said at the end of her talking head segment, "I don’t know if I love the dress, but it was the only one I think she could comfortable carry off and feel good in." That sounds more like an insult to me. It was a very choppy soundbite, though, so maybe it was the way it was editing.
I hated the way they treated the porn star. It’s not a profession I would ever want for myself or anyone I know well, but she’s still a person, and she seemed like a very nice person. The show treated her like a freak, although the stylist she worked with was sweet. "Look, who would have thunk it. Sleazy porn stars have some human feelings!" was the vibe I got.

Probably won't be watching again unless I'm really bored or need something mindless to watch.

Wonder what the people on this show will think about the snark going on behind their back to cameras? I would imagine the porn star is used to it somewhat, but I wonder if it will change her feelings about paying $10,000 for a dress (which I didn't like, but understood she got it to try to go against type and feel a certain way) when she sees all the footage.
I have a feeling this show will be like Amsale Girls and not really do anyone involved many favors.

I was thinking that same thing! She was perfectly nice and she and her husband had obvious love for each other. Plus she's a military veteran! Jesus, it's not like she's the scum of the earth. She seemed pretty cool though, like she really took it in stride. Her boobs though. I'm a 100% straight female and I couldn't keep my eyes off of them...they were cartoonishly large. I work weddings for a catering business, and a woman with very obviously fake boobs was a guest at the reception I worked tonight, and I was talking to her tits every time she spoke to me...I can only imagine what it's like for Diamond lol. People must not even realize she has eyes at all.
That girl whose entire family had bought their wedding dresses there? I wanted to punch the sister. "No my sister doesn't like that," "No, that's not really my sister's thing". Bitch shut up!!!! This is not your appointment! And she must've missed the lesson where they taught people the difference between being rude and being blunt. Outright insulting a designer's dress TO HER FACE isn't being "blunt". It's rude and extremely disrespectful. Remember that old adage "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" Guess she missed that lesson, too. And that dress she picked for her sister was the god-awful ugliest thing I think I've ever seen. It literally could not have flattered her worse. This is exactly why I'm so glad I don't live in LA or Beverly Hills...I would drown myself in the bathtub after day 2. The rude, snobbish sense of entitlement is just so damn depressing. Like, "I have enough money to afford this dress, so manners be damned, I'm going to tell you it's terrible to your face whether you like it or not!" Talk about Ugly Americans. No wonder every single other country hates us.
Between her and the gold-digging 7 carat Botoxed bitch, this show was enough to make me want to put my foot through the TV.

Store owner was annoying and fake. But hey, it is Beverly Hills.
Back to snarking on SYTTD. I predict this show will fizzle out. Not sure why they didn't just start a new flavor of SYTTD after the Atlanta version (which I also dislike) and the Big Bliss one.

I'm still trying to figure out if the wedding planner who supposedly inspired "Franck" was real.
Oh, he's real. He's also appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills "helping" Lisa plan her daughter's wedding.
He was very rude to the husband with all those personal questions. If I were a customer I would never want that guy pushing his way into my appointment, but I doubt he does that when the cameras are not rolling.
Does every one of these TLC bridal shows need a gay man in the cast even if he doesn't work at the store? They keep copying the original SYTTD, but Randy actually has a job at Kleinfeld's.
I thought that one bride-to-be who worked for a plastic surgeon had something wrong with the right side of her face.

But no. Instead the shows tries to get us to gasp at a $17,000 price tag? Seriously, show? We just saw the silver Pnina for $34,000 on SYTTD. And an adult film actress buying a wedding gown for a 10th anniversary vow renewal? And that ludicrous "planner" charging into the waiting room to interrogate the husband on his sex life, followed by him charging into her dressing room to exclaim at the size of her enhanced breasts?
Damn. So disappointed!!

And is this really set in Beverly Hills? Because that store looked like it would fit right in in a strip mall in some ghost town, sandwiched between a 7-11 and a boarded up dollar store.

I agree, that's really putting a bride in a tough position. It's hard to say you don't like something when the woman who created it is standing right next to you.
I thought that one bride-to-be who worked for a plastic surgeon had something wrong with the right side of her face.
I noticed that too, it looked like she had cosmetic fillers and they weren't absorbing evenly. I didn't mind her, but when I saw her fiance, I thought, man, she's gonna spend the rest of her life earning every carat of that ring. I'd rather be broke then have to sleep with an old, creepy guy every night.

This show was like watching the world's worst community theater group get together and attempt to act out a reality show set in a bridal store.
That's exactly what I was thinking. Not that reality shows are real but this was off the charts fake. Franck, frankly, is an embarrassment to gay men everywhere.
Once was enough. I'm done.

As for Franckenstein, that guy is the worst plastic surgery victim since Michael Jackson. I will have nightmares, I'm sure.
Let this show die, please. All things considered, the only well-behaved and authentic creature on the show was the chihuahua.

Like others have said, I'll give this show one more week before abandoning ship. Get rid of Franck and maybe I'll give it two more weeks.

I was offended on porn star bride's behalf. When your client shows up you decide to google her name then show off what you found like you were in high school? I'm sure somebody in there watches porn and they were familiar with Diamond Foxx. That was so over the top ridiculous. Frank was so inappropriate. I would've taken my business elsewhere.
The comment about the future trophy wife's botox was funny but so not appropriate. I wonder if they got a phone call from her after that episode aired.

Not much sympathy for Mr. & Mrs. Porn Star since they obviously were cast to be on the show and were delighted with the exposure. And I'm not peddling the shit they are selling in terms of how *normal* their relationship is. I don't care about the so-called morality of what they do but from what I've read about the emotional toil on "sex workers", you don't have normal relationships because you can't neatly split different aspects of your life - and if you think you are, you're kidding yourself.
The gold digger bride LOL. Why has that waxed botoxed look become an aesthetic ideal. Kim Kardashian does it and I just don't get why relatively young women think it's something to emulate.

My thoughts exactly. This show was like watching the world's worst community theater group get together and attempt to act out a reality show set in a bridal store. Man. I know these shows are set up for the cameras, but this one was really badly done -- right down to the wedding planner getting a case of the vapors over a *GASP* porn actress.
And is this really set in Beverly Hills? Because that store looked like it would fit right in in a strip mall in some ghost town, sandwiched between a 7-11 and a boarded up dollar store.
The owner can barely keep a straight face, she's not an actress after all. Neither can the "Bride's" family and friends who accompany her. Everyone is in on the joke. That stupid, fanciful background music is supposed to make us smile. I hated this show. I hated it last year too, when it was shown Canada.

And both the girls in the first episode -- gold-digger and friend from work -- are obviously getting employee discounts at the 'plastic surgeon's.' What is it with lips stuffed with collagen so that you can hardly form words? In what world is that attractive? Planet of the Ducks?

Never again will I watch this show, and I watch almost anything related to weddings. I was embarrassed for everyone involved, and if Renae thought she was getting a "Say Yes to the Dress", she'd sadly mistaken. So fake, but worse, tacky. For the clients, no one's face moved. For the store personnel, I thought they were not welcoming or gracious. Renae flitting around the store and coming in with no purpose was ridiculous. Franhk is no Randy - he doesn't really have anything to do with the brides considering he is a florist and he's not funny.
I can see that TLC wanted to have each city have its own "brand" - a little like Bravo's housewives or something. Atlanta is a little Southern, Lori says it like it is, but I found nothing appealing about BH. I'm sure Renae has been successful but this show doesn't do anything for her and if anything, could hurt her. Another famewhore done in by famewhory ways!

I think trophy bride's friend seemed a little jealous she was getting married, hence her subdued attitude. They most likely are admin or front office staff for the surgeon and those types of jobs don't pay crap. It's barely worth the free Juvederm.

Renee reminds me of Bette Midler.
And Diamond Foxxx? Is she the same woman who was a regular client of Dr. Ray's?? (God, I can't even remember the name of that show, and whatever happened to them anyway?)

It just seemed that this show was a paean to ticky-tacky...nothing seemed high-end or stylish. From the 'only the most expensive no matter how hideous' bride to the porn-star's husband (I liked Diamond much better than him!), it just seemed like everything and everyone was tawdry.

Frank is so not a draw. Not even in a train wreck kind of way. And the owner needs to brush up on her acting skills if she is going to try and sell contrived script reality drama.

The most expensive dress in the store was only (only ha!) $17,000, I don't get it? It's Beverly Hills, that is prom dress money!
I did not care for any of Stalo's dresses, is she the Greek Pnina for Beverly Hills? The set ups by the producers were awkward and hard to watch. The production value sucks, they would do better to have a show about Davids Bridals, it could be just a little more genuine and I am sure they could find a gay stylist or florist to join the cast.
Ugh, this is one bridal show I will not be watching.
