Not sure about him. Wouldn't apply the word 'dim' right away, that can definitely be a role he plays off as well.
Dio - looks a bit too dim to be the mole, though he does talk about pretending to be someone else and getting this on his CV (as a mole?)
Too early for me to say anything definite about him but the happy-go-lucky open-thing he plays off makes me think he's a bit shady, especially considering he considers himself a very good liar.. We shall see.
(Indeed the CV thing is interesting, don't think he will be eliminated soon when he says that in front of a camera.. He would shut up about stuff like that more like, if he was elim. soon.. :P )
I agree wrt obviousness, then again we did have obvious moles before.
Marit - too obvious to be the mole
She's lower on my suspect list for now since she was featured so clearly in earlier vids. But she isn't off my list as of yet since I think obvi-moles have been happening before, especially blonde female ones. :P
Hmm can't really see him getting very far for now. Or maybe that's just me wishing he won't. :P
Frits - would be the most surprising mole (for the other candidates), as always comes across as very laid back.
More based on gutfeeling and the fact that he is the only one visibly featured in a challenge (in epi 1) in the trailer. But I could be wrong obviously :P
What do you base that on?
Marion - first elimination casualty
I didn't get a clear feel from her yet i.e. in terms of references. But that could be because she is less involved, because she was in the series a shorter time, who knows. I felt that more with Anne-Marie really but it's possible.. *thinks this over some more*
Tim - the usual stand up performer, more likely to win it then being the mole (as previous seasons have proved, would class Jon into a different performance branch)
Ok we had one comedian winning?? We had one doing well, but then again not as well as other people did?
And other stand up comedians have left as early as epi 3, or 5. It would be fun to have a different Mole in that sense, and they do say they want different moles each year. Not saying they always do but they do try different angles, to be fair. :)
And honestly I discount Jon in every aspect really, as contestant or potential Mole, he was in a league of his own..(without spoilering..!!! ;-))
A kind request though to stop referring to people by name, since it may mean a spoiler to people when we translate other previous series. :)
Too early to tell I think. She might be playing off this card, and I don't see many connections to Sanne anyway except for the red lipstick and actress angle :P Most people don't know who Sanne is here I think so I don't think we should make more arguments about it. But you could be right, we shall see ;-)
Anne-Marie - a slighty dimmer version of Sanne Vogel?
I don't think it's likely Maarten is the mole for now. He's too straightforward I think. He could be playing a role of sorts but I just don't see that as very plausible for the time being. Competitive 'manly' males tend to do well on the Molehunt but not be the Mole since people suspect them too quickly. But we shall see. ;-)
Maarten - same personality as Frits, but far less suitable as mole (his height not withstanding)
She didn't know she was pregnant when she signed on. She found out one day before they left for Iceland.
Hadewych - probably the best mole choice, though her being pregnant does make it seem unlikely (as a candidate you can get yourself eliminated in week 1, as mole not so much). Then again, she does say she was the first person chosen.
I have doubts about her since she's featured a lot - rather prominently connected (?) to the youth-pic /diving challenge in the leader having a 'Mol' tag on it, but also in the latest vid, being kept in the loop and picked first. Think that's a bit too obvious especially since they gave the leader end of October, months before the start of the show, unlike any other year. So this has been the main focus of speculation by several people. Personally I'm inclined to think more likely a red herring - to start discussions early on.. But all is possible.
Agreed, he's explaining a bit too much. Why would people even question how he could get away when others did?
William - Difficult, the holiday story seems a bit iffy
Sure he's on stage a lot but other more known 'celeb's' made it work so why would he go on about it.
He does seem a little young to play the part maybe, or maybe he just looks young really :P
Yeah possibly I think so too. Just a vibe, I could be wrong anyway. (Was very wrong thinking Art would be elim soon last year based on what he said in an interview so who knows. :P I was right about most of the other contestants though :P )
Liesbeth - will be eliminated very early
Taking everything into account, I would say that William is the mole (though perhaps too similar with last year).
Based on the candidates, I reckon that the male candidates will do better then the female candidates in the coming series (though I don´t know them all very well, I reckon that only Marit and Hadewych seem strong, and the latter might pull out ´injured´ very early on).
I agree that Marit and Hadewych seem the strongest females of the bunch - but perceptions can definitely fool you, and we have had seemingly not so strong women go to the end before, or even be the Mole. So it's dangerous to make assumptions in that way.
Still it's interesting to speculate with little to go on.. ;-)
So who's next??? :p
With respect to my 'leader'argument (and it being less likely Hadewych for that reason).. ;-)
As much as I love the landscape and nature of Iceland I sincerely doubt the series will be taking place in just one country.
Many reasons really but one of them was Art stating 'Season 12 will start in Iceland' and the rather monotonous images we got from Iceland and the contestants doing challenges mostly on episode 1 to maximum 3 maybe (the bridge- shooting and the boyscouts/scavenger/find me challenge in which most contestants are featured both take place in episode 1, this is confirmed now because of photo's provided by someone who got to see epi 1 with the press-release).
Also one of the contestants mentioned they were told to pack for temperatures between 0 and 30 degrees (Celsius) which makes no sense if they stayed out there, that would be pure torture for the poor contestants not having enough clothes. They don't tend to do that with the celebs because it would piss them off and then no more new celebs would be signing on imo. ;-)
Also, who needs contestants that will most likely get a cold or be sick..?? Not worth the hassle imo..
It makes no sense that the contestants would yammer on about it all being so cold and being short of clothes and expecting a better / warmer climate if they don't get it at some piont because it would be just bad publicity and who needs that.
That happened on the Mole before too..
Compare this to the present leader.. This was the leader of series 10 when they stayed in one (might I add a lot bigger, more diverse) country.. Though they have been mixing up leaders last few series in order not to spoil too much, you can definitely tell the difference with the present series I think.. ;-) - There's a lot more 'action' and diversity and focus on the country (Japan, in this case).
Going on all the signs sofar in the leader, the interviews (/complaints about cold weather), the leader and Art's comment, I would say I would very much be surprised if they did not go to a second, most likely warmer, country.
They've done the two-countries bit several times, and I think they will this time too. They just want it to be a 'big surprise' to the big audience, something like that. ;-)
At any rate I think the one person shown so clearly in the leader will likely, hopefully not get so far. I also think political issues will make him less likeable as a Mole to the general audience, which will put some people off - and I think they tend to want to have a Mole that is generally acceptable and liked by the viewers. A right-wing/ conservative politician (known for that) probably won't match up to that imo.
