I wish the Top Chef bit went somewhere. The synopsis implied it as a B-story, but instead it just made the episode longer for no reason whatsoever. Loved how Marge said it was her "Third Favorite Reality Cooking Show" and when the host made the iconic Transformers noise when he transformed into a kitchen.
Speaking of padding, that Kim Jong Il musical was funny, but just went on for. freaking. ever. We've gotten to the point where the actual plot occurs in the last half of the episode. Sure, the show's been doing set pieces since the olden days, but at least those went somewhere. I liked Wayne/Not Jack Bauer (Jack Bauer himself appeared in 24 Minutes a few seasons ago), and his training montage. Fighting Polar Bears, 60s Era Penguin with henchladies, and Baseball Furies! At least Wayne came to like Homer and not become Grimes 2.0. If anything else, Maggie communicating in rattle-speak was really funny. Reminded me of last night's Doctor Who.
Anyone else notice the sign in the CIA that read "URGENT: Osama in Abaddabad, Get Him Now!"?
Loved how Wayne had nightmarish flashbacks, while Homer had visions of saving his own ass from Terminators in the future. I liked the Korean Animation spoof, but it was nowhere near as crazy as if those animators were left to their own devices. (Seriously, have you seen the ones Conan comissioned for his show?!)
I think just together. So are Ned and Edna married now?
All in all, funny episode, but there was no real story to speak of. The Russians kidnapping Homer was good enough, but had so much potential that was squandered. Then again, "squandered potential" really sums up the last few years of this.

Did you also notice in the locker room at the power plant there was a poster that said "Don't Do This!" and there was a image of a mushroom cloud?

I saw this on my display too. Did they just summarize five seconds or was this a cut subplot to make room for more "Wayne."Marge dreams of being a contestant on Top Chef
More joke-oriented than plot-oriented, with a lot of plots emerging but not really going anywhere, including one cribbed from A History of Violence. Nevertheless, I like episodes where Homer's a genuinely well-meaning good guy who doesn't really harm anyone, and I think this counts.

Between the NMA Animation spoof, the mention of SNPP, the "Disaster Victim with Autotune" video, and the appearance of Trolololo Guy on Family Guy, it was like Internet Reference Night.

That was pretty good. My fave is Homer's "you shush, shushie!" in the Bart joins pee wee football ep. I did like how Wayne didn't turn into Grimey 2.0 but every time I looked at him he resembled a Simpsonized Clint Eastwood to me and I immediately began to hum "Paint Your Wagon."One of my favorite "treats" of the show is when someone talks back to the Gracie Films "shhhhh". Jack Bauer's... uh, I mean Wayne's was awesome.

I also got a kick out of that damn pickled egg jar. It's practically a secondary character at this point.
Definitely liked the "training" flashback and Homer's inability to be a good hostage.

I did, and I also noticed the picture of George W. Bush above it, which forces me to ask: is that the first time we've seen a non-cardboard cutout GWB on The Simpsons? I can't remember any earlier episode that actually featured him, though I could be entirely wrong.Anyone else notice the sign in the CIA that read "URGENT: Osama in Abaddabad, Get Him Now!"?

I think just together.
So I guess Ned got over his issues with living in sin? Seems a little out of character to me not that I don't like them being together (I voted for Nedna!). Although I had always kind of hoped Edna/Principal Skinner would reunite but I guess that ship has sailed.

Dating =/= living together/having sex. Christians, even extreme ones, can be in relationships without being married.
Not that I am one (proud agnostic here), but I do know some.

I forgot about Auto-tune Disaster victim! That was great. Also, count me in for wanting Moe's Fresco.Between the NMA Animation spoof, the mention of SNPP, the "Disaster Victim with Autotune" video, and the appearance of Trolololo Guy on Family Guy, it was like Internet Reference Night.

I'm also an agnostic I'm just saying the Ned of the past would have had issues with letting a woman spend the night even if they aren't having sex and we don't know that they are or aren't. The "living in sin" thing was me being facetious.

I forget her name too, but I always remember her coming down the stairs in an evening gown with a slit way up the front and Rod and Todd at the bottom of the stairs, mouths agape, as one of them says, "Daddy, where do babies come from?"
Not a bad episode. Marge and "Top Chef" really went nowhere, but I'm a sucker for any episode where we see Homer at work, even if it's not for long.
