I know there was a lot of negative stuff said about this season's contestants, but I honestly feel like this is the best Final 2 we've had in a long time, if not ever. Both deserved it and were pretty much the best throughout the entire season.

I felt like Will was the better chef, but I was rooting for Paul. His reaction to winning was better than Danny's.

I was cheering for Will but am still OK with Paul.
Just as long as Elise didn't win, I'm happy!

The best line of the entire season was Ramsay telling Elise to stop being such a bitch.

I hate to say it but I think she was a big reason why Paul won. She really dug him out of a hole.

Tommy and his girlfriend ruined the family segment. Watching them suck on each other's tongues was just nasty. Blurg. Pass the eye bleach please.

I think Will not pulling Krupa from the fish earlier hurt him.

I was pretty certain Will would win, but I got a sinking feeling when I heard Grr say that Will had been consistent throughout the services, but Paul had passion.

Grr told Will after Paul walked through the door that that night's service hadn't been his best, but I didn't think Paul's was that swift, either.

I'm not sure it's fair to pick a winner based on just the last service. First of all, it was a motley crew to pick a team out of, and second, professionalism aside, people may have their own agendas for not doing their best to help you win.

Agree that Will should have pulled Krupa about an hour earlier than he did.

Cliff from BLT Steak NY must watch alot of Chopped. He reminded me of Alex as he was tasting the food and giving the guys the ol' stinkeye.

I felt bad for Elise's kid. He was so glad to see his mom and all she wanted to do was bitch about the competition.

I think Will not pulling Krupa from the fish earlier hurt him.

ITA. Will's strategy really backfired on him. A shame too because I wanted Will over Paul. Paul is just too loud and obnoxious for my taste.

Can't believe Joe Pesci's nephew won. I'm more convinced that ever the show is completely scripted from beginning to end. Especially with those BTS moments, it was like we were watching completely different people. Which would make sense if they were all acting.

Kind of lackluster menus for a final. I thought the challenge dishes were better.

I lol'ed for real when Gordo threw out the baseball. What the hell kind of throw was that. It was sort of like a hop skip and a jump. I expected better from an athlete.

I was really, really glad Elise didn't make the final 2. I don't think she should have gotten to take her chef's coat. No one else did. She aint that special, except in her own mind.

I really felt for Paul when he talked about losing his mom about 3 months before the show started. But then after about the 20th time I was yelling STFU at the screen.

The only reason Chef probably let her keep it was so she didn't start bawling again.

Eh, I was pretty sure Paul won when we heard about his mom, after him not mentioning it the entire service.

Cliff who was on Top Chef is the Chef at BLT New York, and Amanda from TC was on a couple of weeks ago, wow is there some connection between TC and HK?

At any rate, what a bullshit outcome. HK has been completely phony (in terms of going for the most "dramatic" winner) for the last several years. I don't know if I will continue to watch this charade--especially since every year in the individual dish competition during the finale, it always comes down to the last dish...(eyeroll)

I didn't care for Will so am happy with the outcome. Plus I realize as the season came to an end that without Elise it would have been pretty boring. Anyway, I didn't think she'd win but I expected a real smackdown exit but am happy that we didn't get that. I think she was pretty critical to Paul's win and Gordon seems to have soft spot for her. What I liked most about her the last service is that she wanted her guy to win. Sometimes people have agendas and you just never know what you'll get.

I didn't remember half those folks that came back.

Good job Paul. I could've seen either two win and I'm glad that Paul was able to keep his promise to his mom (as soon as he mentioned it, I knew he had it in the bag). I hope that Will gets something out of this too.

I was surprised Paul won.

I'm happy that Paul won, but was gritting my teeth at all the "Elise was the team savior" talk.

Shocked that Will, Paul, and Ramsey all had such high opinions of such an unpleasant bey-otch.

I was OK with either Paul or Will winning, but what pisses me off is that even though she was eliminated, we still had to see Elise for the last hour. I was really looking forward to an Elise free hour, but I forgot they bring them back for the final challenge. I seriously hate that bitch.

Happy with the outcome although I would have been happy with either guy taking it. They were the best of the bunch.

I thought the bloopers/outtakes/whatever during the credits were the best part of the whole season. The teasing about Tommy's young girlfriend was hilarious.

Tommy: Can I get something for my lady?
Chef: Focus on you, Tommy. Don't worry about your lady. Let her graduate from high school then you can worry about presents.

Then a few clips later...

Chef: So Tommy how was it?
Tommy: I ended up going to get something for my lady.
Chef: Really? How nice. Where'd you go? Toys R Us? Baby Gap? How was it?

Tommy's mother should've smacked him at the family reunion, what a classless putz.

Chef: So Tommy how was it?
Tommy: I ended up going to get something for my lady.
Chef: Really? How nice. Where'd you go? Toys R Us? Baby Gap? How was it?

That was excellent, but not as satisfying as:

The best line of the entire season was Ramsay telling Elise to stop being such a bitch.

That was classic. I think it was his way of letting her know that her attitude is what kept her from the final 2, though it should've gotten her nasty ass bounced weeks ago. Lying bitch.

It was kind of a meh finale. I was hoping for Will to win, especially with him never landing on Grr's shit list the whole season, but have no problem with Paul winning it. I did like the way Will seemed genuinely happy for Paul. I did not like the way Paul almost literally dug up his dead mother at the end.

I smell producer interference in the way that Will had Krapa working the fish station. Where was Tommy all this time, and why wouldn't Will put Krapa on the dessert station from the beginning?

Anyway, this will be the last time I watch this dopey show. Well, at least until the next go-round.

Also excellent:

Ramsay telling Tommy to finish the homework when he was telling the chefs to wrap up the family visits.
Ramsay telling Elise to stop looking at the others' food during the re-creation challenge.
Will telling Elise to taste the stain on the floor because she has the best palette.

I was very impressed with Will at running the hot plate. He spotted that lamb really quick (or is it quickly?).

I'm glad Elise was in the final four just for her accidentally ironic comment: "I *am* everything Hell's Kitchen is about; I epitomize Hell's Kitchen." (or something like that). Elise, you just called yourself an obnoxious farce of a dumbass show, but, um, yeah, you go, girl. Or start crying. Whatever.

Oh, Paul. Would your mom really be looking down with an angelic smile on her face as you took the histrionics to soap-opera level? Let the woman rest in peace, eh?

LOL at Paul/Joe Pesci comparison. Thanks!!

The best line of the entire season was Ramsay telling Elise to stop being such a bitch.

Paul yells at his crew till his eyeballs almost pop out, but that's ok because he's "passionate". Will yells at everyone to the point where no one wants to work for him, but that's ok too...... he's Big Will. Tommy constantly shuts down and sticks his head in the sand when things get hot, but somehow manages to fly under the radar week after week until there is finally nowhere for him to hide.

............Paul's team would have shut down on him too if not for Elise, but somehow she still gets the bitch edit.

Totally agree with the above. The finale should be based on the overall performance, not just the last episode. The comment GR made to Will after Paul went through the door sealed the deal for me. IMO Will should have won, even with the sub-par last episode. This was likely my last season as a HK viewer.

MC surpasses HK hands down.

I lol'ed for real when Gordo threw out the baseball. What the hell kind of throw was that. It was sort of like a hop skip and a jump. I expected better from an athlete.

He played soccer and baseball is not as popular in the UK as it is in the US. I doubt kids in the UK think about going out to play catch with their Dad or play a lot of pick up baseball. It was a sucky throw but at least it didn't bounce.

I am fine with Paul winning. As soon as they showed the footage of Paul talking about doing this for his Mom you knew he won. There was no way they would show that and then have him lose. And, as much as I hate to say it, Elise is the reason Paul won. She ran three stations over the course of that service.

It was also really clear why Elise didn't make it into the final. Little Miss I am a Great Chef suddenly was making stupid mistakes and fighting with Will when she was perfect for every other contestant and didn't fight with them? Gordon saw right through that act. I loved it that he told her to stop being a bitch. That was why she made it as far as she did and why she didn't make it into the finals. I am bummed that that was the last clip they showed. It should have been something dealing with Paul.

The Tommy stuff was great. I kind of wish they did a clip show with more of those type of scenes and maybe some of Gordon teaching them how to cook stuff.
