The track listing is good. I'm excited for the album to come out next month.

Lyndsay Parker always seems so awkward when she's interviewing Kris. Is that just her style with everyone or does he make her nervous?

This has never struck me as Kris's attitude (shrugs) certainly the whole point of TVOL is tolerance.

I'm not saying it's his attitude but if you are going to attend a church that is intolerant of gays who are bullied every day and they are killings themselves over it, then TVOL's whole point of tolerance is meaningless to me. I'm sure there are plenty of people who won't know Kris attends such a church, but I do and it's hypocritical.

treiD I'm not surprized who Kris's favorite is--Kris has always leaned a bit toward urban in his taste, and with the throw-back quality of that particular contestant, I can totally see why Kris digs them, and not someone like Colton (every time that dude sings I just think of how gorgeous Kris's voice would sound doing some of the tunes that he picks.)

Josh Ledet can sing, but he is not going too win. Maybe Kris will have a good laugh with Phllip Phillips and Colton Dixon this Thurs.

I think Kris gets a little underrated for his AI performances. I think its because Adam was such a great performer and did a lot of great things and Cook also did a lot of similar things to Kris except he did them first. But what Kris did on Disco night with "She works hard for the money" has to be one of the most original things the show has ever scene. And of course he'll always have Heartless. Even "Ain't no sunshine" was an underrated rearrangement. I just think comparing guys like Philip and Colton to Kris is a little unfair becuase they have yet to do something as original as those three performances that actually worked. And I like Colton but the only time he completely rearranged something he admitted to taking it from someone else. Which is fine, but I'm just trying to make the point that Kris did some exceptional things on the show.

Given the results, he couldn't have been underrated too much. Maybe after the show.

Sometimes I wish that Kris would think back on some of the things that he did on AI to get noticed, and try to replicate that. He captures some of that on the album with some arrangements that are more unique than the ones that appeared on the first album. Even though I hope he made some changes to "Leave You Alone". Based on the Mint show, it seems that four of the first five songs on the album will also have some of the soulful touches that he showcased on AI.

Yea I meant after the show. He just seems to get forgotten sometimes or hes an afterthought when people talk about contestants who rearranged songs. He gets lumped in with the lees and Scotty's or even the Philips and Coltons when I think kris was more original then all of them.

What comparasion? I was simply stating that Josh won't win. Kris will be meeting the top 7 on Thurs, which includes Phillip and Colton. Kris is known to have a sense of humor, so do these guys. And as a former winner, he will probably be asked down the road what he thinks of Phillip and Colton.

I was commenting on my overall perception of things I've read throughout the Internet. I used your post as a jumping off point. If you were not comparing them then I'll take your word for it. But I stand behind my main point about Kris.

Based on the snippet of Leave You Alone heard at the beginning of the BTS video of The Mint, I think LYA will be one of those songs where I actually like the recorded version better than the live one (like AWM and Red Guitar).

As for originality on the show in my opinion that has been sorely lacking since season 8. The lowering of the eligibility age hasn't helped that situation. As far as Kris goes, I think he was one of the most original contestants that has ever been on the show. It was acknowledged when he was on it but I do think that fact has been lost a bit in the whole "all WGWG are the same" discussion. I think we're going to see some of that originality on this new album.

To be fair, Kris' first album lacked some originality too, even though there are some great songs on the album. I think it comes down to the time that he had to write it, not having a bigger hand in the production process, and some of the writers and producers just not getting Kris. "I Need To Know" is amazing, but based on what he did on AI, songs like The Truth, Lifetime, and Let It Rain are just not songs that I expected to hear from him.

I wholeheartedly agree. I am so hopeful about the new album--I can't get TVOL out of my mind, and the clip is getting good traffic on youtube. Also just caught a glimpse of Kris in the AI studio audience, so like, squee!

Kris is perfectly ordinary as far as I'm concerned. I think that was his appeal when he was on the show. He is a married devoted christian, looks like your everyday boy next door, has a low-key personality and does Jason Mraz/Script type of music. IMO artists that are truely original are polarizing and they are loved or hated. For example, Fantasia has a lot of haters, she is one of the most hated idol contestants, however, she also has a lot of lovers and she is critically acclaimed in the industry.

Yet, both she and Kris won, so it would seem that the reasons for why people voted for them can't be easily explained. I think this is an old topic, and one that doesn't need rehashing, since it has nothing to do with the present.

There were tweets yesterday that indicated Kris & KAB won't be alone there may also be a choir and/or dancers & the choreographer tweeted about working with LMFAO & Kris. Anyway it should be a full production.

He was on quite early spaghettijimmy. I don't know the exact time but I would say in the first half hour of the show, I think. He did a great job!! Looked and sounded wonderful in my opinion. I could have done without the revolving piano. I feel like he was hidden behind it half the time. Was glad when he got up!
