They didn't have guns in that clip posted. They used their fingers. Though I bet production suggested they add the guns as props as a way to introduce outrage...

The dance is slightly different. Abby even mentions choreographing a mission impossible style dance every few years. Good evidence that this show is scripted is looking at actual competition results. They fudge them for the show.

What on earth happened with that last episode?? Yes, most of us realized that it is scripted and 100% TOTALLY fake pretty much after the 2nd episode of the first season,...but WTF with Abby leaving crying, not watching Chloe win...oh you know what, I forgot, I don't give a ****! Don't bother with another season, Lifetime, cause I can't stand to hear Christie's annoying bitchy voice another second! I'd rather see Cathy get her own show. I'm now officially boycotting Lifetime TV---they are obviously a board full of class-less and moral-less women haters.

P.S- Holly is SO not the be-all, end-all that everyone is making her out to be...... So she has "verbage' as a defense.....big damn deal...it isn't enough. She has a PhD but she isn't intelligent enough to see that her child is SO not thriving under Abby's self-esteem destroying tutelage. I feel so bad for them that Lifetime took such advantage of them. They didn't even make any money off of this..all they got was travel expenses, and US thinking they are all FAKE PHONY FOOLS. Nice going!

After re-watching the episode online, I definitely think that Abby left because of her mom. The look she gives the moms before getting in the van and the sympathetic looks that even Christi and Kelly give her back are very telling. They don't look angry at all, they look like something more personal and serious is going on. Also, Melissa was very supportive of her leaving, whereas if she was leaving because she was upset about Maddie, I would think Melissa would be freaking out about how that would make Maddie feel.

I agree with the other stuff, but I don't think Melissa has been shown to care of have any insight into how things might make either of her daughters feel. She's pretty much all about her own feelings.

Well, true, Melissa might not care so much about how it would affect Maddie. But nothing any of them did or said in the actual moment seemed like she was leaving for something as silly as Maddie messing up. It was only the interviews, which were obviously scripted later, that made us think that's why she left.

Melissa would have the awareness of how itwould look had abby solely left because of disappointment or anger toward maddie. Melissa seems to take great pleasure in maddie's status and talent, so the risk of abby seeing maddie as just one of the girls wouldnbe devestating to Melissa. Her whole identity is wrapped up in maddie making it big.

As for holly, I do not find her to be grossly intelligent. Nor do I see her as intimidating. She is a complainer just like Christi and Kelly. The difference is that she pulls from a different arsenal. While Christi blames abby and the favortism toward maddie ad nauseum, holly points toward stereotypes and her own role as a working mom. The problem with either of their arguments with me is that they kept their daughters with abby lee miller long brefore the show happened. Nia Nia, Chloe, Brooke, maddie, and Paige have been there since they were much younger. Even if abby played only a peripherial role, I have a hard time garnering sympathy for these mothers.

My dance training came from a studio named for the owner Ms. Becky. While I never had a class from Ms. Becky in my life, my mom sure as heck knew the woman and knew her faults/assets. When I took class at 10 from a teacher who shared too much with a class of 10 year olds about her sex life, you can bet mom was confronting Ms. Becky to get me in a new class. She did not interrupt Ms. Becky or a student's class. She came early or stayed late to have a word with her. She called when she worried about costumes. This show's dramatic in class or in dressing room confrontations crack me up.

Miami isn't doing nearly as well as the original. I kind of hope that they overexpose the series quickly and it dies. I don't think the show is doing the kids any good.

If all of the mama-drama on the Miami version is any indication of the direction that they intend to take the franchise, I don't have high hopes for it.

I hope they don't even entertain the thought of giving Kathy her own show. She is so grating that I end up fast forwarding through any scene with her in it, and I would feel even more sorry for Vivi if her mom had even the slightest encouragement. She is even worse than the Miami moms IMO.

I actually find Kathy so delusional that I enjoy her segments. I prefer delusional-bitchy to angry-bitchy. But, that's just me.

What is amazing to me is that, after watching the original show, there are parents who would sign up for this. I guess famewhores really don't care how they look, as long as they get attention. And what makes dance studios think this is a good thing? It boggles the mind.

What's with all the make-up those little girls wear on their THs? I've noticed a nasty trend recently that has very young girls clarted up even on shows like Dateline. I get that the kids wear make-up on stage. But surely they don't need any in daily life.

The only spin off should have been Cathy's spin off- Dance Moms- Candy Apples! (with the exclamation point). I feel like the moms would just roll their eyes at Cathy and be like "Um.....well.......okay Cathy." Which would be way more entertaining than the painted on brows and yelling of the Miami version, though I love the teachers and the boy dancer. I feel like I need to see Vivi's dead panned one liners and Cathy's evil schemes weekly. I almost want to see the season premiere in June of Abby Lee not coming back, but Cathy coming in and going "Okay! I'm taking over and it's the Super Duper Candy Apple Dance Factory!" I need to see the looks on everyone's faces, especially when she puts Vivi at the top of her pyramid and makes them all dance with her gigantic dancers and wear bright purple eyeshadow. It will never happen, but it would be hilarious and better than that awful Showgirls dance they did. Hell, we all know the show is scripted anyway.

That's funny and that would be pretty awesome. Everyone could play, what prop is Vivi going to be this week? Then they can pass out those horrific rhinestoned candy apple jean jackets.

I love when Cathy shows up, she's the perfect villain.

Having finally seen the episode this was the impression I got too. When Kelly asks what Abby wants them to tell the girls she launches into her little speech about how the girls are fine, they're well trained and know what to do. In the context of the show it makes no sense, the competition's over, all they have left to do is pack up and go home. The only way it makes sense is if she's leaving before the group number.

There's a blog run by one of the older girls at Stars. She's legitimate, she shows pics of her and DMM girls in the studio, has vids on youtube and Angel and Victor have tweeted about her. Anyway she said that both series have a hair and makeup artist whenever they film, so those super complicated braids and makeup is done by them for the purpose of the show, rather than being required by Abby or the mums. I can link the blog if anyone is interested :)

Really? My girls and I find her absolutely hilarious! Granted, I don't know if I could take a show with Cathy as the entire focus but we get such a kick out of her on DMP and quote her often. Who couldn't laugh at her reference to Abby's "Jailhouse Rock" routine, lol.

Looking at the rerun this evening, I am agreeing. I watched the scenes of the group dances. They clearly show Christi, Kelly, Holly, and Melissa sitting in that order as they watch the girls. While the shot is tight, it is clear that the seats on either side of them are empty. Abby is not shown at all. When the group awards are announced they show a shot of Cathy and one of her moms, the four Dance Moms again (but in a different order) with empty seats beside them. Abby is shown by herself.

After they go back to their dressing room, we see the moms and girls enter but no Abby. The moms talk about how the girls have never been in 10th place before and have always placed since Electricity lost last season. They are talking to each other. Cut to a shot of Abby sitting on the other side of the room (nobody is in the shot with her) talking about how nobody has been dancing up to potential. The line doesn't even make sense in the context. Now Cathy enters and we have her talking/congratulating the other moms. She never even looks to where Abby is supposedly sitting. Cathy and her group leaves. We get a shot of Abby hissing out, "Satan!" at the door.

I'd bet good money that Abby was not there for the group dance. Whether it was because of her mother was sick or something else, the way that the scenes were spliced together make it obvious that she wasn't there for that filming and that they used other footage of her from that day.

I hope they don't even entertain the thought of giving Kathy her own show. She is so grating that I end up fast forwarding through any scene with her in it,

I agree. Cathy is so over the top for me that she isn't even funny. I half way expect to see her twirling a mustache and threatening Abby over not paying the rent.

I wouldn't watch a Cathy show... she just drives me batty! I would watch a Vivi show. That kid is so monotone/hates her mother so much she cracks me up (not that I blame her!!!!) I could only hope it would be called Vivi's World: She Hopes She Can Still Dance.

Imagine how awesome this show will be in 10 years? They should do a documentary following Vivi. Every few years or so. Like the BBC documentary and the American one (which channel was that?) that followed. I think it was called 7up? then 14...then 21. I want to see Vivi at 14 and 21. Oh boy!!!

No way would I watch a Kathy/Candy Apples show. As it is, I mute or change the channels when she shows up. Mostly because everything surrounding her character and the way she was introduced was fake. I like the girls and will tunr in to watch them from time to time. Couldn't care less about any of the adults.

Yeah it looks like Lifetime is angling for some "real housewives" style show only with dancing interludes.

I caught the sneak peek. Nothing ever changes. I wouldn't have minded Kelly too much except her immediate insult to Abby was to harp on her weight. That's taking the high road Kelly. Of course Abby is ridiculous as ever. I did like what looked to be Hollie ushering the kids out of the room when Kelly started ranting.

Poor Paige. Poor kids. At least Christi was trying to comfort the child while Kelly went on her rant to Abby.
