P.S- Holly is SO not the be-all, end-all that everyone is making her out to be...... So she has "verbage' as a defense.....big damn deal...it isn't enough. She has a PhD but she isn't intelligent enough to see that her child is SO not thriving under Abby's self-esteem destroying tutelage. I feel so bad for them that Lifetime took such advantage of them. They didn't even make any money off of this..all they got was travel expenses, and US thinking they are all FAKE PHONY FOOLS. Nice going!

Also, Melissa was very supportive of her leaving, whereas if she was leaving because she was upset about Maddie, I would think Melissa would be freaking out about how that would make Maddie feel.
I agree with the other stuff, but I don't think Melissa has been shown to care of have any insight into how things might make either of her daughters feel. She's pretty much all about her own feelings.

As for holly, I do not find her to be grossly intelligent. Nor do I see her as intimidating. She is a complainer just like Christi and Kelly. The difference is that she pulls from a different arsenal. While Christi blames abby and the favortism toward maddie ad nauseum, holly points toward stereotypes and her own role as a working mom. The problem with either of their arguments with me is that they kept their daughters with abby lee miller long brefore the show happened. Nia Nia, Chloe, Brooke, maddie, and Paige have been there since they were much younger. Even if abby played only a peripherial role, I have a hard time garnering sympathy for these mothers.
My dance training came from a studio named for the owner Ms. Becky. While I never had a class from Ms. Becky in my life, my mom sure as heck knew the woman and knew her faults/assets. When I took class at 10 from a teacher who shared too much with a class of 10 year olds about her sex life, you can bet mom was confronting Ms. Becky to get me in a new class. She did not interrupt Ms. Becky or a student's class. She came early or stayed late to have a word with her. She called when she worried about costumes. This show's dramatic in class or in dressing room confrontations crack me up.

I love when Cathy shows up, she's the perfect villain.

After re-watching the episode online, I definitely think that Abby left because of her mom. The look she gives the moms before getting in the van and the sympathetic looks that even Christi and Kelly give her back are very telling. They don't look angry at all, they look like something more personal and serious is going on.
Having finally seen the episode this was the impression I got too. When Kelly asks what Abby wants them to tell the girls she launches into her little speech about how the girls are fine, they're well trained and know what to do. In the context of the show it makes no sense, the competition's over, all they have left to do is pack up and go home. The only way it makes sense is if she's leaving before the group number.

I hope they don't even entertain the thought of giving Kathy her own show. She is so grating that I end up fast forwarding through any scene with her in it,
Really? My girls and I find her absolutely hilarious! Granted, I don't know if I could take a show with Cathy as the entire focus but we get such a kick out of her on DMP and quote her often. Who couldn't laugh at her reference to Abby's "Jailhouse Rock" routine, lol.

Looking at the rerun this evening, I am agreeing. I watched the scenes of the group dances. They clearly show Christi, Kelly, Holly, and Melissa sitting in that order as they watch the girls. While the shot is tight, it is clear that the seats on either side of them are empty. Abby is not shown at all. When the group awards are announced they show a shot of Cathy and one of her moms, the four Dance Moms again (but in a different order) with empty seats beside them. Abby is shown by herself.
After they go back to their dressing room, we see the moms and girls enter but no Abby. The moms talk about how the girls have never been in 10th place before and have always placed since Electricity lost last season. They are talking to each other. Cut to a shot of Abby sitting on the other side of the room (nobody is in the shot with her) talking about how nobody has been dancing up to potential. The line doesn't even make sense in the context. Now Cathy enters and we have her talking/congratulating the other moms. She never even looks to where Abby is supposedly sitting. Cathy and her group leaves. We get a shot of Abby hissing out, "Satan!" at the door.
I'd bet good money that Abby was not there for the group dance. Whether it was because of her mother was sick or something else, the way that the scenes were spliced together make it obvious that she wasn't there for that filming and that they used other footage of her from that day.
I hope they don't even entertain the thought of giving Kathy her own show. She is so grating that I end up fast forwarding through any scene with her in it,
I agree. Cathy is so over the top for me that she isn't even funny. I half way expect to see her twirling a mustache and threatening Abby over not paying the rent.

I wouldn't watch a Cathy show... she just drives me batty! I would watch a Vivi show. That kid is so monotone/hates her mother so much she cracks me up (not that I blame her!!!!) I could only hope it would be called Vivi's World: She Hopes She Can Still Dance.
Imagine how awesome this show will be in 10 years? They should do a documentary following Vivi. Every few years or so. Like the BBC documentary and the American one (which channel was that?) that followed. I think it was called 7up? then 14...then 21. I want to see Vivi at 14 and 21. Oh boy!!!

If all of the mama-drama on the Miami version is any indication of the direction that they intend to take the franchise, I don't have high hopes for it.
Yeah it looks like Lifetime is angling for some "real housewives" style show only with dancing interludes.

Poor Paige. Poor kids. At least Christi was trying to comfort the child while Kelly went on her rant to Abby.
