Turns out the 12 finalists aren't necessarily the best singers, dancers or actors — though, certainly, having those skills helped. Rather, Ulrich says they all possess that difficult-to-pinpoint Glee spirit. Or, more to the point, they all have the potential to inspire Glee's writing staff.

Bryce (Matt 2.0) - He'd have to play someone with a radically different personality for me not to constantly see Matt.

This is what I'm curious about. I really don't know a lot technically speaking about singing, but I can imagine that they would all have the pipes if they got this far.Based on initial impressions and their YouTube videos, I think they all have good enough voices to keep up with some of the other current cast members on Glee.

I truly watch Glee to be entertained, though, and charisma doesn't necessarily match up with technical prowess. I guess 'stage presence' should come through in their performances, but do we know much about how they're going to evaluate their acting skills? I don't need anyone to be able to carry a major dramatic arc. But to me, once you hit that baseline of being a strong singer, the singing actually becomes one of the least important elements IMO.

She does know he doesn't have any say over who finally gets cast, right?Another singer, Emily, exudes sass and flirts with “Glee” cast member Darren Criss, giving off the vibe of Santana (Naya Rivera).
