Turns out that not only is Episode Seven on XFinity, but it doesn't have the access troubles that HBOGO apparently has! Nice work, everybody.

Loved the symbolism of the beginning, the lion totally gutting the dead stag. So was the bald guy basically saying that the squire did poison the king by saying "don't blame the squire ?" because that is what I got out of it. See what happens when you're mean to your squire who is related to the Queen. So the lion did kill the stag.
And I am confused. Why did Littlefinger, while he disagreed with Ned and did not want Stannis as King, say he had the gold to pay the soldiers and let Ned think that he would help him? Why did Littlefinger betray Ned? Is he hoping to get Cat back? Won't this make Cat hate him instead? Is he hoping that he can somehow control Joffrey? I don't understand his motivation.
Also, if Ned is arrested for treason, won't that mean that Joffrey won't marry Sansa? I mean, would the Queen allow her son to marry a girl whose father she has arrested for treason? What will Sansa do? Will she go back to Winterfell? How many people did Ned tell about Joffrey? Did he include those facts in the letter he sent to Stannis?

I'm sure Littlefinger thinks he can somehow twist things around to make him seem innocent of the whole affair. Ned should have never trusted him and indeed, Littlefinger did warn him of that when they first met.

Like Tutus said the shit has hit the fan. So much hate for so many people after this episode. I'm tempted to read the books to make sure the people I hate get what's coming to them.
Joffrey is a punk ass bitch and so is his mother. I think her little stories about Robert and Ned's sister are supposed to make me feel sorry for her, but I don't. Hate her.
Last thing Robert did was a a smart thing. Too bad it didn't work out. Poor Ned is screwed, isn't he?
Bookrat, I thought the same thing about Littlefinger, had to be a about Ned's wife. Or maybe he can't control Ned like he can other people? Who knows.

Nice to meet Tywin Lannister, although he's not what I pictured.
Ned is so stupidly honorable, and honorably stupid, it hurts.
One thing I was concerned (based on the first episode) wouldn't come across on screen was the growing affection between Dany and Drogo, so I'm glad to see that has been pretty accurately portrayed.
ETA: Loved Sam going with Jon to make their vow to the Old Gods. It's been a long time since I read the books, but I don't remember their friendship seeming so strong this early.

It's funny - he had one of the longest scenes in the episode explaining his motivations and i'm still not sure either. It feels like he just likes to have power without being in charge. It's as if he just wants to screw with everyone in revenge.

It's a big late now, but if people are still having problems with HBOGO and have Comcast, Xfinity also has episode 7.
Thank you! Worked for me. I just could not get it to play on hbo go. 20 minutes to start, then poor quality that stopped every 10 secs or so.

I love Littlefinger, mostly because i still haven't figured him out. He's a schemer, seemingly just for the sake of scheming.

Speaking of Littlefinger, I know they need to do some information dumps, but the fact that almost one giant scene per every (or every other) episode is an information dump combined with an extraneous sex scene is getting to be a bit much. Do they think the sex will distract the audience from the "telling instead of showing" of it? I know, I know, HBO!
The pace is really picking up now, I already can't wait for the next episode.
ETA:
Believe me when I say, HBO is not ADDING sex, gore, or violence to this series.
I know they aren't generally speaking, I've read the books-but a visual medium is very different. I find it interesting to see how they present backstory that was told through internal monologues and other means in the book. However, there are indeed added scenes dumping information. Among them, are the scene with Visery expounding upon dragons in the tub with the slave he bought his sister, the added Renly/Loras scene and now the two whores/Littlefinger scene. Those are ALL technically added scenes that are additional sex that was not in the books. So while a Renly Loras sex scene doesnt' surprise me, it is new. As is the scene with the two whores and Littlefinger. I was mostly amused by the fact that the scenes that are boring info dumps are being disguised as sex scenes is all. Although I was slightly disturbed by the start of the Littlefinger speech. Makes certain things way clearer earlier and in fact foreshowdows way later books much more explicitly (I would argue that it in fact states what a reader is pretty sure of but hasn't actually happened even in the books yet.
I'd have taken it to book vs show, but I'm not sure I can discuss episode 7 there yet.

None of that is spoilery, so I hope it's OK.
I am so jealous of those of you who got to see this. I keep reading to get a sneak peak at what they are showing next.

Well then. As a non-book viewer, I am shocked Jon Snow is going to be a steward and not a ranger. Very pleased though. What was unsurprising was his little bitchface reaction. How the says stewards are nothing but slaves right to the face of another steward. Oh, dude. You're such a tool.
I don't hate Ceresei either. I do hate this Littefinger, little freak manipulator, traitor, and wannabe bad lesbian porno director. I wonder what Jaime will do when he returns? Ceresei seems to have everything well in hand right now. Didn't need him at all for this one. As for Tyrion, I'm glad he's got this episode off. A little Tyrion goes a long way.
Why didn't Littlefinger kill Ned? Guh. Total plot device. And speaking of Ned, the chickenshit much for not telling King Robert about his heir problem on his deathbed, and making the decision for him with that player-to-be-named-later on the parchment. Stupid Stark. That wasn't entirely honorable either.
That's a freaky tree. I like how the old gods roll.
Drogo threw some mighty oathing around! I get how he wants some big revenge-a-thon but hey hey, even Danerys was like, that'll do. He's all, but wait, there's more! And I did get a chuckle out of the failed poisoner getting he ass run tied naked ... to Dany's horse!

I think this was just a special thing because of the American long weekend next week. After that it'll go back to normal, with eps not available until after they've airedI noticed there were no previews for episode 8. Considering not too many people seemed to be able to view episode 7 with HBO GO, does that mean HBO won't do the same for episode 8 next week? Are they just going to show episode 7 again? There are ten episodes total right?

Me too. I think the writers are Lannisters. Poor, tragic Robert got no nuance at all :(
