From the Bitsie T. interview linked above:
"Todd Milner and Sean Hayes had this idea to take fairytales that were in public domain and to put them in a detective procedural format. It hadnít ever been done exactly like this. "

It has, in book form. See Jasper Fforde's "The Big Over Easy" (Was Humpty Dumpty pushed, or did he jump?) and "The Fourth Bear." (Was Goldilocks framed?) The lead detectives are Jack Spratt and Mary Mary.

I didn't see this posted. There's an interview of Sasha Roiz while they were filming episode 15 here

There's a quite a bit of spoilers not already discussed pertaining to Renard's back story (Sasha seems very free with the spoilers!). The new item is in the last paragraph of the snippet:

Wow. Sasha Roiz needs to give more interviews, cause every time I see an interview with him, he doesn't seem to understand the concept of a spoiler.

Some interesting (non-Renard-related) info here on an upcoming character: http://tvline.com/20...nneth-mitchell/

I'm loving Monroe's stained glass door more and more. I have a mah jongg game that has tiles with a heraldic theme and one of them is a coat of arms that looks like Monroe's door. So I went a-googling...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passau
The city's coat of arms looks like the Blutbad Window. AND Hitler used to live there. How freaky is THAT?

The coat of arms has a red wolf on it - great find Prevailing Wind! Passau looks beautiful, a lovely rivertown, a bit like Portland!

Not sure of that, but you can bet it's the one where Nick & Monroe join forces to solve...oh, wait. That's every one.
Hey, works for me!

Technically, neither does Monroe. Not that we've heard on the show. Lots of articles abound on the internet referring to him as Eddie, but we've not been privy to that on the show.

I always thought Columbo's first name was Lou. Lou Tennant Columbo. Y'know, Maria Shriver's Dad's name was Sargent. Maybe that's Wu's first name, too. Sargent Wu. (Closed captioning spells it "Woo.")

What's really hilarious is that he has a degree in International Business and Finance. How come there were no guys like him when I majored in finance.

I love the show and it's mythology. It was slow going at first, as the writers focused on attracting an audience with more self-contained episodes. However, the mythology arc appears to be surfacing as the season draws to a close and I'm really excited. However, is anyone else worried this may cause a problem for the show's long term prospects?

I remember when Fringe started out, it was also very self-contained. Fast forward four seasons, the show has gotten quite complicated and it can be hard for newcomers to follow. I welcome complex arcs, but I'm afraid Grimm may see a shortened lifespan if we can't continually attract new fans with paint by number detective stories.

The show's rating is very good, but only because NBC is so bad and it's on Friday nights. A drop in ratings its sophomore year would be the end. But the episodes I disliked were typically pure procedure and offered little in revealing the larger Grimm world. I want to know about Renard and the parallel world Grimms live in. How easy would that be to follow for newbies?

I finally got my SO to catch an episode of Grimm with me. I chose "organ grinder" because it was one of my favorites. He was fine until the Renard tidbit at the end where I had to explain the character. My wish is that the show will generate enough of an audience and buzz that the writers can feel comfortable outlining complicated multi-episode stories. I was a fan of Buffy and Angel, so I have confidence the show has the capability of making it's mark on the scifi/fantasy market. I just hope it hangs around long enough for people to take notice. :)

Give or take, with a new strain of uninterrupted episodes ahead, this should be a good time to introduce more grimm myth arc before next season.

It's my lucky day. I'm home sick & had the tv on. Leverage was over and it was time for The Closer. I hate The Closer...but who's the first person I see in the episode? Silas Weir Mitchell! Playing a priest. Turned out to be a good guy.

Law & Order comes on next - and, don'cha know, it's got Kate Burton (with hair) playing a defense attorney.

And then, of course, later tonight...
