House of Anubis was a very popular show in Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, & Germany). It aired over 500 episodes there. Now, Nickelodeon is going to air a remake version of the show. The first episode is tonight at 8pm.

Here is some information, pictures of the cast, & a preview of the show.

From Just Jared Jr.

Meet the cast of House of Anubis!

Starring Brad Kavanagh, Jade Ramsey, Eugene Simon, Nathalia Ramos, Alex Sawyer, Ana Mulvoy-Ten, Bobby Lockwood, and Klariza Clayton, the series follows eight students who stumble upon and try to solve a hidden mystery at an English boarding school, while dealing with the highs and lows of their teenage years.

The preview is pretty uninteresting but I might give it a shot.

The acting is bad, but I'll admit the storylines are pretty interesting. Glad to see Nickelodeon taking a chance on non-sitcom like live-action programming.

And all the white boys look the same.

I had fun counting the Harry Potter references, but it got old fast. The show was kind of boring and I agree that the acting was bad. They set up some interesting questions in the pilot. It could have potential once the storylines get going.

My kids are old enough to want to watch this again tonight to find out more about the mystery, but I guess they are too young to notice the absolutely horrible acting! Oh my lord!

Looking at the commercial, I think I'm going to hate it---The bad acting is almost TOO distracting for my taste.

Got to admit, the acting IS horrid, but the show itself has a lot of promise. Yes, I admit it, I want to know what happened to Joy (in my head, I hear that in the piercing whine of Patricia). I can tolerate the poor acting skills, although I am hoping at least some of the kids will improve with time.

I was intrigued by this show, but 5-10 minutes in I deleted it from my TiVo. Bad acting and it looked like it was shot by me with a home video camera. Blah!

If I have to hear Patricia ask one more time for "Joy's home numbaaaaah", I think I'll scream.

The acting is absolutely horrendous, but I do also admit to being curious about the show. Though between dumb blonde Amber, and irritating, bitchy Patricia... Not sure how long I'll last.

I co-sign on all of this as well as being horrified at Jerome's awful hair.

I just watched the pilot. Horrible. I can't believe that Nickelodeon would even think of replacing "True Jackson VP" and/or "The Troop" with this crap.

To anyone who actually like this show, I'd suggest you watch an episode of Discovery Kids' "Strange Days at Blake Holsey High". It was much better than this and had better actors too.

This might be cheesy (and full of holes) & the kids not the greatest actors in the world, but I'm kind of intrigued by the mystery. I think they set up the spooky mood fairly nicely, and I want to see what the great mystery is.

The worst. The American chick is so perky and annoying that I can completely understand why Patricia wants to shank her. But I'm a sucker for YA mystery shows so I'll give it a chance. (Tower Prep seems better, although the acting is similarly dicey.)

Alfie and Jerome just seem completely pointless. They both annoy the crap out of me. Jerome is such a jerk, even to Alfie who seems to be his best friend. Amber has grown on me and I am glad she is in the middle of things. Patricia seems to be reverting to her annoying self (even if she IS right that something has happened to Joy).

I watched another episode of this horrid show and I regret doing it. The acting is still horrible, as is the direction. I wonder if Nick will cancel this show after one season, especially if it doesn't get iCarly and Spongebob like numbers.

I agree about Jerome & Alfie. Their storylines have nothing to do with the overall arc, so they either need to be included or gotten rid of. I like that Amber seems to have some more depth than originally portrayed, but they also need to get Patricia in -- Joy's disappearance and the Anubis mystery are connected; the sooner all the kids are working together the better.

I thought the last few episodes -- with the unfolding of the whole Egyptian-eternal-life cult (especially since Victor seems to have been a grown-up even when old lady Sarah was a young girl) and the conversion of Sexy McTeacher were suitably creepy. I'm guessing blond guy who's stalking Patricia is the "Betrayer"?

Hee! I'm curious enough about the mystery (can't find spoilers anywhere!), that I'm watching---but zumpee, jr (aged 10) even noticed that the "acting was so bad she was embarrassed for them". Their voices are so wooden that initially I thought the accents were fake---because yes, their own voices didn't even sound natural on this thing.

I like that the HAWT! Teacher joined the cult---but it was awfully fast, even for this silliness. But I guess he wants to stay hot and sexy. That said, I'm surprised HAWT! Lady Teacher isn't in the cult to preserve HER hot sexiness. I almost/kinda thought Joy was the "betrayer" and Patricia's stalker/faux private detective is some sort of cult hunter.

Speaking of which, Patricia is mighty stupid. If he really were a private investigator, he'd certainly have a photo of Joy.

Mara just can't seem to catch a break. Poor kid. Really can't stand Alfie or Jerome, they are completely pointless and a waste of space.

While Amber is starting to get a wee bit more depth, I still can't stand her. She just bugs the crap out of me.

Very interesting that Victor was around when Sarah was a kid, dude is creepy!

Amen to that! If he is a private investigator, who hired him? If her parents hired him, he would have a picture. And who else besides the parents would know Joy is missing. GAH!

Amber was cute with the kitty today. Tomorrow's preview says Patricia and Nina "finally" team up! Oh I'm white knuckled with anticipation, the moment I've been waiting for---Patricia learns the "Sibuna" hand thingy. And even still this show entertains and holds my interest more than The Cape.

That is pretty lame, but I chalk it up to "they're kids." Somewhat stupid kids -- Really? Confronting Victor already? And they got poor Trudy fired.

I think blond guy/Rufus is the "Betrayer." He was talking to Sarah like she should have known him, so that makes me think he's one of the cult too (or was).

I bet Jerome turns out to be the code breaker, which will finally give him something to do other than be a douche. That leaves Alfie and Mick with being totally useless, and while Mara's smart enough to be in on the secret, they haven't shown how to incorporate her (other than she's hot for Mick).

I don't expect great acting from a children's show where I'm not the target demographic, so I'm enjoying this show more than I thought I would.

Yeah, I saw that with Jerome--he's douchey but "math smart", so we all know where that's going. Mara's particularly good with languages, so it's my guess she'll be included soon enough (BTW, I think she's very, very pretty). We're endlessly reminded that Mick's athletic, so I think somehow that will prove usefull. I guess Alfie will distract Evil Victor by being a buffoon.

And yes, I hate to admit it, but it's growing on me.

This mystery is becoming more and more interesting. I loved how Amber managed to get the cameras removed and Trudy reinstated (that girl is a master at getting what she wants). I do wish the acting was better, but I really enjoy the show despite it.

Mick's dad appears to be quite pliant when a pleasant young lady presents her case---and I do mean this in a completely non-sexual, innocent way. If Mick has a sister, I'm sure she's QUITE the Daddy's girl. That said, I was honestly surprised Amber even bailed on the sit out, because I was waiting for her to go all Malfoy with, "just wait until I tell Mummy and Daddykins about THIS!". As a parent, I'd be less than thrilled to hear my kid was supervised by a supremely creepy dude, wasn't being properly fed and had security cameras on them.

And the mystery has grown enough on me that I'll be waiting for Monday!

Not to mention said creepy dude removing the only adult female who is also living in the house! If I were one of the parents of the girls, I'd be down at the head masters office in a heartbeat!

I was surprised no one pointed out that sending the bottle with Alfie to the hospital WILL get it analyzed, which is what they have been trying to do.

Okay, so Creepy Victor is the worst kidnapper ever! Apparently hospitals have no security in that part of England, even when there are people who are supposed to be in control of things. Also apparent? Rufus is not such a good guy. Plus, I hate to seem interested, but how will Nina and Fabian move on to their next clue, now that Creepy Victor has thwarted them? Oh, of course, someone will somehow sneak something over.

For a murderous eternal life cult, they're mighty bubling.

And obviously their enemies know it! Not one, but TWO people who should be getting as far away as possible show up for a play in disguise (hoodies? These people are giving Robbie Ray a run for his money in the worst disguise ever catagory!). I fully expected Patricia to start pointing and screeching "Joy" when she was on the stage....her cover was actually a lot more clever then I would have guessed she was capable of.

I honestly dont care how bad the acting is, I am so into this show it isnt funny!
