(Nadia G's) Bitchin' Kitchen

Hilarious, entertaining and deliciously demented, Bitchin' Kitchen is a comedy-cooking show based on the wildly popular web series. Chef-comedienne Nadia G. looks at the funny side of everyday situations and turns them into occasions worth celebrating — with food! From 'Recession Recipes' and 'Impressing the In-laws' to 'Break-up Brunches,' Nadia G. rocks the kitchen with her tasty techniques and stiletto-sharp wit.
This show is funny and her food is very creative. Loved when she dried her hands on the chain-mail towel.

The music video on this past week's show, "Rehab Recipes" was over-the-top and spot on.
Now, if she would just learn how to handle the knife properly...

She has replaced Anne Burrell as my BF's favorite. Now he gets to watch a Nadia episode from the DVR as a reward for having to sit through a few Slopisodes.

I really like this show, and I didn't think I would, but I happened to catch when they showed a whole bunch of them. Just a lot of fun to watch.
I felt the same way, I caught it on Cooking Channel by accident and was positive it wasn't going to be my kinda thing. At first I was busy looking at the dolls in the background and props. I enjoyed it and the food looked good.
One of the episodes I saw was Anxiety Soups and as she is making her bouquet garni for the chicken stock, she's naming off the herbs when I hear her say "diazepam! So I thought I must be hearing things, because this is a cooking show and most shows worry about washing hands, no raw eggs - so did she just say to put valium in her chicken stock?
So I looked it up - she did!
I think I love her.

I think she changes the cabinets to match the theme of the show, even the writing on the cabinets change with every different epidsode.
I wish I could wear heels and cook, or even just be able to wear heels without my feet killing me.

My inner-Shrike badly wants to believe that she does it to make fun of Sandra Lee.
I was watching her put some basil in the food processor, it seemed like she went out of character and said "just eyeball it." I'm pretty sure that was a slam against RR.
The potato croquettes she made with the filet looked good.

I like the show but her over the top accent could get annoying really fast.
This. To the eleventy-seventh degree. I can't watch more than five minutes of her show because of her voice and accent. Hits my last nerve. Her recipes and concepts are great, however. Don't look for this show to last more than one season.

Does anyone know what tzaketa means or what language it is? I tried to google it but had no luck other than finding it in foreign language texts which was no help to me.

No, Nadia says that word in nearly every episode, almost as one would use an exclamation point.Do you mean epazote from the anxiety soup ep?Does anyone know what tzaketa means or what language it is?
ETA, but thanks for the link for epazote. I didn't know about that.

SFoodie: We all know that Rachael Ray has "Yum-O!" and Emeril has "Bam!" Do you have a catchphrase?Does anyone know what tzaketa means or what language it is?
Nadia G: Yup, "tsaketa!" and I use it all the time, meaning "let's go." Tsaketa! (tsack-et-tah) "Now that we've got all our ingredients lined up, tsaketa! Let's get cooking."

She reminds me of...me in my mid-20's, minus the accents. The song to wrap the hangover episode was hysterical.
Count me in on the girlcrush. Food, great set, retro 80's wardrobe and snark all in one place. What's not to love?

Thank you, backbiter, for the head's up on the mini-marathon.
I didn't give a heads up. I just meant I ran into the show by accident. But what a pleasant accident it was. And I watched all the eps until there were no more for that period of time. I'm hooked.

Yes and the look she always give the camera after Hans' segments. Funny.I like how Nad G. can never pronounce the name of the spice guy. I can't either. I'll be setting the dvr for this one for sure.
My husband is preparing the shepard's pie right now, yay! The recipe is so good it is in my rotation now.

I'd take a thousand shpagettis over a single speGetti anyday. I'm hoping that's her Giada tribute, too, like the SLop and RR, er, homages.I like the way she pronounces her words too, just enough inflection without being annoying like a Giada.
Meantime, the challah French toast topped with caramel fleur de sel sauce is top of the must-make list.

I love the spice agent he is my favorite out of the supporting characters. His accent and clear mental instability add a lot of humor and I agree with him about Toby Maguire, he makes me go all googly eyed too. Panos is a close second because he reminds me of a couple of Greek cousins I have. I really could take or leave Hans because I never did like the whole dumb jock act too old dated shtick.
I think my favorite episode I've seen so far was the Anxiety Soups ep. the beginning to it is so funny because you know all the food network personalities she's making fun of. And her outfit was hot.
