From Sho.com:

After acquiring an RV, Nancy lets Andy navigate the road and he leads them to Pioneer Town, a former western movie set now turned off-the-grid scab city. While Nancy attempts to get the lay of the land, she instructs the family to set up a mobile hash making shop inside the RV. Andy and Silas work on getting laundry machines while Doug and Shane try to obtain water.

Wow, this was a real step backwards from the last few Weeds episodes. The Seattle episodes were great because we could see the family re-domesticating and it felt "real". This episode and the caricature of the trailer park/white trash community just felt ridiculous -- and not in a good way.

sorry mods!! please delete

"I said no smoking at the bar. You don't listen... Need somebody to make you?"

While Andy and Doug are sitting around watching porn, Nancy is going out and living it.

I thought it was a pretty good episode.....definitely filler though.

on a completely shallow note, it's nice to see that Mark-Paul Gosselarr is still as (possibly even more) hot as ever!!

My one complaint,,,why is it always nancy that ruins things for the group?

It was funny in parts but it felt like a filler episode.

Did like the scenes with Shane and Nancy. Shane is turning more and more into Nancy or maybe the voice in Nancy's head. RUN like the wind!!!!! They would be better off you know.

Silas and the black kid who was talking about how his shot a dude and how dude was still alive and Silas said "we weren't that lucky." was a nice touch.

Andy and the Godmobile was funny, but then Andy is his element is usually funny.

The only thing that was stupid was Nancy in the bar getting sexed up, but then it was pure Nancy, and a plot device to get them out of the Trailer Park place.....Nancy and her selfish need strikes again.

Oh yeah and it was nice to see Dean again. I forgot how funny he could be.

Another good ep. I don't care if it was filler. I'm loving this season so much more than the last couple.

C-mon, that was hot. At first, I thought he was going to start beating her or something so I was a little taken back but I thought that was pretty hot.

Poor Andy. Nice guys finish last. He is so in love with Nancy and he knew immediately that she had just had sex with a strange guy and climbed into bed with him. He was clearly upset when he pulled the covers over his head and his quips at the end when they are driving away.

On the other hand, this is in keeping with her character and her penchant for rough and dangerous sex with bad boys. Andy is simply not her type.

For those who watch a lot of Animal Planet, did the sex scene remind anyone else of a female lioness? When a lioness comes into heat she becomes sexually aggressive and parades provocatively in front of a male by lifting her tail and presenting her hindquarters to him. The male then seizes her by the neck and copulates with her.

Nancy first gets turned on (comes into heat?) by seeing the gay porn, and from what appears to be masturbation-interruptus. She then parades provocatively in front of the barkeep with her transparent and sexually aggressive flirting. He then seizes her by the hair at the nape of her neck. She then moans as she speaks, in a way reminiscent of a cat purring, when she agrees that she doesn't listen. He then bends her over the bar and they proceed to have rough animalistic sex. Indeed, there was an odd part of the sex scene where they were both literally pawing at each others' faces. Also, recall that at the end of a Shoe For a Shoe, Nancy expressly referred to herself as a "mother lion." I may be reading too much into the scene but that's what came to my mind.

As someone pointed out in another forum, it appears Nancy may have been crying at the very end when she had her sunglasses on and they were driving away. I rewatched the scene on Tivo. It is hard to tell, but she does turn away and her upper lip is pursed in a slightly odd manner. In addition, people often wear sunglasses to hide something and Nancy virtually never wears sunglasses.

The question would be why. Does she regret sleeping with a married man with a wife and young children? Is she sad she upset Andy? Nancy usually does not give a crap about the effects of her actions on others. Or, is she disappointed that a possible budding romance with a hot guy is dead and they are having to flee?

I don't know why she should regret it. Perhaps feel a little bad afterwords but like she said, he had no ring on. So it's not really her fault.

If you mean that she's the reason they left, well, it was kinda Andy's fault as well. He was the reason the people were yelling for their money back and hitting the van. Nancy just had the woman yelling at her.

I was a bit disappointed at the end, because I thought Goselaar was going to be in an arc, not just one episode.

I loved seeing Dean again, but I wish we had a glimpse of Isabel as well, I miss her. Hunter Parrish is really bringing it this season. I feel really sorry for Silas, which is not something I could imagine saying at the beginning of the series. I'm getting a bit tired of the constant travel though, I hope they find somewhere with quirky but not annoying characters and stay there for a while.

My thoughts exactly. I've enjoyed every other episode of this season, but there wasn't much to like about this one. I hope the family finds a place to settle down again soon; I don't know how many of these "Let's stay here! Oh, wait, we messed up and have to hit the road again" episodes I can take.

Dammit, Jenji! Why couldn't they have stayed in Seattle even a little bit longer?

I've enjoyed the last couple of episodes just fine, but I agree that the Newmans need to settle down somewhere pretty soon because the season is losing its focus.

Awesome to see Margo Martindale (last seen in "The Riches" as Nina Burns) in a quick scene -- she sold them the Godmobile.

It was weird how they transitioned into that -- or rather, did not transition into it. After last week's ending, I thought for sure they would steal the Butter-eating contest RV from the unsuspecting Butter-eating judge, but instead they just started with them knee deep in negotiation for the Godmobile. How did they find such an eager seller? I would've like to have seen how they hooked up with Margo...

Also liked Shane's "they're better off without us" train of thought. He is growing up to be like his Mama...

Finally, yay for gay porn! Funny how all the straight people, young and old, seemed open to it and some were clearly "inspired" by it, not the usual depiction of that kind of material at all!

Was it ever established that Nancy liked rough and/or kinky sex back when Judah was alive?

Or is this something new in her life maybe as a result of his death/her grieving?

Don't know, but that was a hot scene. But aside from that, I'm also going to tire quickly of this aimless wandering, especailly after the tightness of the episodes up until they left Seattle.

What happened to Nancy's U-Turn tattoo?

@NecrOphelia You took the words right out of my mouth - that scene was so hot!

Loved how Andy knew Nancy got her bang on the moment she got into bed with him. He's like a gentle puppy too, so damn forgiving of her no matter what she does.

Well my initial impression was what a great episode but it was probably just the sex scene. Really freaking hot with a nice addition to the whole Nancy dom/sub Andy/pussy story line. Nice of Nancy to ruin another family.

Some great lines though. Doug: "U-Turn?"

Imagine how that looked in the Script:
You don't listen do you?
Do you need somebody to make you?
MMMmmmm, yes.

And the absolutely ridiculous preacher story line was actually very well done. Gentle Puppies: LMFAO. Andy is at his best when he is the center of attention and running a scam. We need more of that.

Is the entire season going to be on the run and then back to get our passports so we can go to Estabon? I thought Nancy and crew were going to build something big- naturally they would frack it all up again but still.

Thanks for the "lioness in heat" analysis, dirkdiggler. I wondered why they were pawing each others faces, that was just weird.

I loved Preacher Andy, especially in his robes. So cheesy. And when he referred to Silas as a male prostitute. Well, he did read to that guy in his underwear!

Fun fact: MPG appeared in a play last year with Justin Kirk called "The Understudy" - which I saw. I'm assuming that had something to do with him getting cast. He looks better as a brunette, too.

Doug: "U-Turn?"

I laughed out loud. I knew he was going to say "They all look the same" before he said it. Fucking Doug.

Unpopular opinion but what I would give to have U-Turn back for five minutes...he was brutal and fierce and awful but at times HILARIOUS. U-Turn and Celia both. I realize U-Turn can't really come back, though.

I love it when Weeds shouts back to previous storylines because so many television shows have no concept of continuity. And even though Weeds has become positively ZANY and has surpassed any shred of normalcy/realism (again, I feel like I am watching the Showtime version of Oregon Trail) they still were able to check back to Shane's previous obsessions with Pittsburgh and Sammy Davis Jr-slightly before Shane went off the deep end entirely.

Holy shit, Zack Morris. MPG should be a case study in Hollywood on HOW TO AGE AMAZINGLY WELL.

I'm generally pretty laid back about the characters I watch on tv on account of they're characters on tv, but man was Nancy annoying in this episode. I don't know what repulsed me more - those stupid fucking shoes or her eating the peanuts with her mouth open. Jesus.

No kidding! I don't understand Nancy's tactic of "annoy the guy until he fucks you." Like she's too good to just proposition him? We need this elaborate seduction of open-mouthed chewing, smoking cigarettes and stomping on family heirlooms? The RV had a whole big closet of bondage gear on board. She couldn't have dug up a leather miniskirt and some kinky boots? You're on the run, Nancy. Use the right tool for the job! (and for that matter, use Andy for the job FFS! He's an accomplished lover who isn't afraid of the weird stuff. They could have had all kinds of fun in the back of that RV and if Nancy kept it down enough no one would have called her the whore of Babylon!)

Regarding the gay porn: Andy is open-minded and non-judgmental, so I could picture him flicking through just out of curiosity. Doug was probably too stoned/stupid to realize until about the fourth or fifth magazine that there were no women in them. But Silas? He doesn't strike me as the type that would be remotely interested. So that makes me wonder if he's getting set up for a gay plotline.

Agreed that MPG has matured well but honestly if I didn't know it was him I wouldn't have recognized him at all. The voice, face and hair are a far cry from Zack Morris. It's good that he's got range though.

I loved Andy as a conman preacher and agree with the poster who said they should keep this storyline. During the Depression, there were a lot of traveling con men whose specialty was religion. Andy as the genesis of the next great tent revival would be hysterical to watch and true to American history and culture. I think this was a one-off and I know Nancy wants to get out of that RV, but I really did love this.

The question would be why. Does she regret sleeping with a married man with a wife and young children? Is she sad she upset Andy? Nancy usually does not give a crap about the effects of her actions on others. Or, is she disappointed that a possible budding romance with a hot guy is dead and they are having to flee?

Yeah, I don't think Nancy regrets sleeping with the married man. Remember, Nancy had to actually see teenage girls being sold into the lowest form of prostitution to feel any twinge of conscience at all and even then she had to take hallucinogens to figure out what she was feeling, the idea of morality was so distant by that point. So, sorry I can't think that conscience had anything to do with it. And the bartender was apologizing to Nancy! I posted this in another thread but when you cheat on your wife? Apologies go to the wife, unless you are trying to end your marriage.

They could have had all kinds of fun in the back of that RV and if Nancy kept it down enough no one would have called her the whore of Babylon!)

I'm with you dwmarch. Did propositioning guys stop working and somebody forgot to tell me? Flirt? Smile at him? Let your breast brush his arm? Cute outfit? (Though to be fair, that purple shirt was sexy.) Flatter him a little? 'Wow, that's really interesting. I never thought of it that way!' Did these things stop working? Open-mouthed chewing is the new cleavage?

And I don't understand why Andy is such a no-go area. Nancy likes bad boys, sure, but Andy isn't exactly the guy you would choose if you wanted a McMansion in the suburbs. He's not Diogenes for God's sake! Judah was the guy for that and if Nancy had such a taste for bad boys why didn't she throw Judah over for Andy or at least bed Andy back in the day? Andy is amoral at the very least. The two of them could be the Bonnie and Clyde of the New Depression. IMO, the reason women usually like bad boys is because they are good in bed, and it has been established that Andy is good in bed and would be willing to meet any needs Nancy had. Other than to keep the sexual tension going, there isn't a reason to keep Nancy and Andy apart. Except dealing with the break-up would remove a key character from the show.

Perhaps as others have suggested, the entire series is Nancy's reaction to Judah's death as it certainly seems that a different woman was married to Judah than the Nancy we have come to know.

Oh and I think Andy was jealous as well as hurt that Nancy got laid. Even though Andy loves Nancy I think he would jump at the chance of sex if it came along and wouldn't think that casual sex had anything to do with his feelings for Nancy. As I said, the man isn't exactly a moral giant, which is why I don't understand why the show is trying to depict him as the opposition to Nancy's penchant for bad boys. Though, the bartender with two kids and a wife, apologizing sheepishly doesn't exactly scream hoodlum to me either, even if he is willing to get a little free sex that wandered into his world.

And I don't understand why Andy is such a no-go area.

She told him in the last episode: "They all die." She's going with the "I'm poison - stay away" excuse. I think she believes it. Andy told her himself: "You ruin everything you touch!" And I remember Conrad: "Every time you open those big brown eyes, I fall into shit!" They were both right.

To a comment upthread asking why she annoyed men into sleeping with her, it might be her latent way of getting herself punished for what she's done to her family and for the damage she generally leaves in her wake.

I wonder if the show's dark enough to go all "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" at the end of things? Or have Silas or Shane somehow do her in?

Andy is a no go area because there is no violence in him. It's clear that she has a need to be dominated sexually in a violent rapey sort of way that Andy would be totally incapable of.
