Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman are in Pacific Rim, the sci-fi blockbuster directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Blade II, Pan's Labyrinth and the Hellboy movies)about a team of soldiers in giant robot suits fighting giant monsters to save the world.

I know! I'm kind of excited to go watch it. I wasn't looking at the TV the first time the trailer aired and all I heard was the voice over by CH and I got really excited cause I thought it was an SoA commercial. Ha.

Same here, except I got a glimpse of Perlman out of the corner of my eye. Kind of cool they're both in the movie.

Just off the top of my head and ones that I didn't see mentioned yet, these are my favorite SOA sightings:

Theo Rossi - Jericho (Great show - canceled for stupid reasons)

William Lucking - The Rundown

Mark Boone Jr - 2 fast 2 furious

Tommy Flanagan - Braveheart

Ryan Hurst - We Were Soldiers, Saving Private Ryan (Really Good in both)

Titus Welliver - Jericho

Sprague Grayden - Jericho

Kenneth Choi (Henry Lin) - Rambo (the 4th one)

Johnny Lewis (Half-Sac) - Felon (Good movie)

Kurt Sutter - The Shield (as an Armenian)

Jamie McShane (Cammy Hayes) - Breaking Bad (With a country access)

Julie Ariola (Mary Winston) - Shameless (The US Version)

Charlie Hunnam has been cast as Christian Grey in the 50 Shades movie.

I am so sad (and strangely disappointed) that he took the role.  You're better than that, Charlie.  You're better than that.

Dusang, so, so true. All I keep thinking is EXIT TO EDEN proportions of epic clusterfuck page-to-screen moviemaking.

Crossing my fingers that I"m wrong...

Agreed, I was so surprised Hunnam would take it.  I get that this buzzy casting would boost an actor's profile and name recognition, but I kinda thought he was the "actor's actor" type where a role always came first.  Didn't he take a few years off acting a while ago because he said he couldn't find roles he liked?

And he's already proved he can be a leading man with SoA and Pacific Rim (while a disappointment at the box office, it made enough overseas to possibly get a sequel).  This doesn't really seem like a step up for him.

Well, here's one gossip columnist's theory, which seems pretty plausible.  I don't know how this movie will turn out -- I do like the director but (IMHO) the book was atrocious.  I wonder what rating they are going to aim for... X? R? PG-13?

According to this article the actors' reps didn't even get to see the script. I just don't understand why he would do that. The books are absolutely awful and just imaging some of the scenes and dialog on screen makes me shudder and laugh at the same time. Hopefully he gets paid well.

dusang: I read on ONTD (so no idea how reliable this information is) that they are going for an R rating.

How can they get an R rating? They'd have to cut out 30-40% of the dialogue, not to mention about 80% of the scenes lol
Maybe he took the role because it sounds like its going to be the worlds shortest movie.

Bwah ha ha!!  Maybe, in the reverse of HP & Twilight, rather than breaking the final book up into two films they'll have to combine the whole trilogy into one to make a full-length BDSM movie with no graphic sex scenes.

Robin Weigert and Maggie Siff are both in a new movie, Concussion.  Robin Weigert plays a bored suburban lesbian housewife who starts doing sex work in her spare time.  Maggie Siff is also a bored suburban housewife who lives in her town and who becomes one of her clients.  So if you want to watch Tara get it on with her lawyer, it's a good movie.  The description sounds like porn but it's deeper than that (no pun intended).  There are many lesbian sex scenes, though.

Like others, I've noted a handful of shows who use many of the same actors as SoA; "Lost" (Theo Rossi, Katey Sagal, Kim Dickens, Titus Welliver and Robin Weigert all turned up there at some point), "Life", "Deadwood", "NYPD Blue", even "True Blood" and of course, "Justified".  Some of it is, I think, the Graham Yost - Band of Brothers connection; apparently, everyone who worked on B of B is always try to help anyone else from that miniseries get work.   So the Deadwood alumni I've seen on SoA are Dayton Callie, Ray McKinnon, Titus Welliver, Paula Malcolmson, Robin Weigert, Kim Dickens, and as some others I  think from more minor roles.

Based on extrapolation, I predict  that the next known face to show up on SoA has got to be one of these four: Brad Dourif of Sean Bridgers, or else Michael Cudlitz or Neal McDonough.  Any takers?

He'd have to change his look for the movie, probably slim down and he'd have to get a clean cut hair cut which would affect Jax's look for next season's SOA. But I don't think that would be an issue now. It's not like that's shocking breaking news, that should have been one of the first thoughts when he got offered to begin with. This season is also wrapping up, they're on the final episode and this movie starts after that.

I guess they could be trying to say he won't have time to change his appearance before filming or learn/study his lines? But again they knew this schedule before, so it's not news all of a sudden.

IDK, but it's probably better for him to run from this and his statement can't be the truth on how bad this movie can be for him.

Maybe the article about all the lingeries left on his door step was actually true and he got scared lol. I'm just happy that he came to his senses before it was too late.

As far as finished movies go, I saw 'Concussion' a couple days ago and thought it was amazing. Robin Weigert and Maggie Siff did a great job. The only problem: Now I want Tara and Lowen to get together, take the boys and run as far as they can, away from Gemma, Jax and the whole club.

Yeah, I'm not really upset about him not doing it, I am actually kind of glad he isn't doing it, I hope to see him in the movies though, just not that one.  Though I totally would've had to see it if Charlie were Christian Grey, I'd just HAVE to, lol!

I do wonder the real cause of him not wanting to do it.  I don't think it was a scheduling conflict.  I doubt he got cold feet, too. Hmmmm.....

A friend of mine was upset when she heard that Charlie was dropping out of 50 Shades of Grey. But then she said he was also dropping out of SOA. I have searched for anything about this and I have found nothing to indicate that he won't be returning for Season 7. She also said that Katey Sagal is leaving, which I hadn't heard either. Because Married With Children is coming back? Had anyone else heard any of this? I thought they were all coming back for season 7 (assuming they survive season 6 of course.).

Has anyone heard anything about this?

I think your friend is playing tricks on you.

Everyone, with the exception of anyone who gets killed off by the end of this season, will be back for season 7.  If they weren't, we would've heard about it.

She said someone sent her a link but she couldn't remember where it was posted. I really think she must have been mistaken because I've read every news article about him dropping out of 50 shades and I have seen nothing about him dropping SOA. And there has been nothing about Katey either. So, I think she misunderstood.

I still think it's just bogus information.  Unless it is a spoiler, you could check those threads at your own risk.  Maybe theres a spoiler where Jax and Gemma die and that why they're not coming back.  VERY HIGHLY unlikely but if you really want to know THAT bad, I'd check the spoiler sections.

And probably more than unlikely, KS isn't going to kill off Jax and Gemma before season 7, there's just no way.  I am 100% sure about this.

One article I read said that the Sons season finale started filming on October 11th. I imagine it takes a week to 10 days to film an episode.  Production was not supposed to start on 50 until November (which they moved back to accomodate Charlie's Son's schedule) so that reason is BS.  I am glad he turned it down.  I just could not picture him in a role like that.  Supposdely he and the female co-star had great chemistry. I wonder if she will be re-cast after they find a new Christian?
