Hey, new show on Cartoon Network! In the vain of Flapjack and Adventure Time, we have Regular Show created by Flapjack crew member JQ Quintel!

Mordecai (Bluebird) and Rigby (Raccoon) are 23 years old like me! I wonder who voices them?

Hamboning, wizards whizzing in a bush, and a keyboard that the boys are in love with. Flapjack might be gone, but Regular Show seems to be a worthy successor. And yes, I say this even only seeing one episode so far.

They actually got away with saying "pissed" in a kid's cartoon! At least, I THINK this is a kid's cartoon...

I am undecided at this point. I love Adventure Time with a deep, abiding passion but never liked Flapjack because of its grimy, grotesque animation style. I was kind of bored at first with Regular Show because it seemed like the only thing "cartoony" about it was that the main characters were animals, otherwise it was some sort of boring slacker/mumblecore thing. It did pick up when the moon travel happened. So I am open to see where it goes, I would prefer doing silly, possible only in animation stories as it doesn't seem to have the writing level that a graphic novel in an action form would require (i.e. Daria, Boondocks etc.).

I was shocked when they calling each other "hole". And later one guy said, "How in the 'H' are we going fix this 'S'?" That will fly over some kids' head but still, this cartoon did a roundabout way of saying shit.

Never saw the pilot but I enjoy the first episode. Weird enjoyment of seeing random craziness coming out of a simple problem of getting money. It was amusing that the main characters doesn't finch at the idea of a magical keyboard. It is like normal to these slackers. I guess that the point of a show called "Regular Show"

Just Set Up Those Chairs: This was great, especially the 8-bit battle with the devil head at the end.\

I hope we see more of the High-Five Ghost.

The latest episode was awesome. It got a hungover horse and clown. Definitely a show that willing to go to weird places.

I hope we see more of the High-Five Ghost.

Love the fact that it actually gives high five. I kind of wondering of what the High-Five Ghost look like before he was a ghost.

According to the teasers, High-Five Ghost returns next week! Most awesome!

BTW, if you want to watch the pilot, here it is! I like that the overall show didn't change much after the pilot.

Finally stop procrastinating and got around to watching the pilot. Before watching the pilot, Pops was an uncomfortable character for me. His enlarged head looks like it will burst at any moment. But in the pilot his childlike sense of joy was fun to watch. He got so many facial expressions for excitement.

I beginning to sense a pattern in the story structure. Mundane problem follow by extreme unbelievable event. It might get stale but for now, I'm enjoying the whiplash of going from normal to weird.

High Five Ghost was at the concert, waving his beer in the air.

He does a lot of living for someone who's supposed to be dead.

Caffeinated Concert Tickets: I love that Rigby is so oblivious to the "real" reason people go to concerts. And yes, seeing the duo jacked up on coffee was awesome.

What IS their job, anyway? They mostly seem to be house chores.

The Giant Coffee Bean definitely reminded me of Schnitzel (legal contract in nothing but "coffees!"), except with a translator!

Loved seeing High Five Ghost again! I also want to see where this show goes with Margaret. I bet she'll dump that meathead Slasher soon.

Wow, a show on Cartoon Network managed to get the rights to an actual song! A generation of kids have just been exposed to Loverboy's "Everybody's Working For The Weekend." I love this show.

Man, Mordecai and Rigby are jerks. Did they really think the magical coffee was charity and not expect to give anything back? Way to return a favor, slackers.

When the song was starting, I thought it was a made-up song by the made-up band, Fist Pump; like how most cartoons work. I thought to myself, "Man this is really good for a mock band." I didn't realize it was real until it reach the chorus.

To be fair, the contract was just "coffee" written over and over again, and had absolutely no idea what they were getting themselves in to.

Death Punchies: Ahh, the glories of 8-Bit video games. Rigby's temper tantrum was such a realistic little kid moment.

"One...of death. Two...of death."

So the secret of the Death Punch of Death is a mullet, cutoff jean shorts, and a montage set to "You're The Best Around" from the Karate Kid? Awesome. Of Death. Do I wish to know what the Death Dump is?

Next Week: The boys try to score free cake! Sounds like another great one!

It was a roller coaster of emotion. At first, I felt bad for Rigby. Then I despised him when went mad with mullet and jean short power. And then I felt bad for him again when he was crying and just want to defeat Mordecai just once in a game of punchies.

Mullet Mordecai is weird looking.

Free Cake: I loved the boys' sad "No cake" dance. $1.50 for cake mix is out of their price range, so sad.

Oh, the perils one can go through for free cake. Mordecai actually wants to justify the Free Cake, while Rigby just wants to eat the damn thing, knowing their trick succeeded. So interrupting a spirit dance on your birthday causes you to lose immortality and your life? But having cake brings you back? Daaaamn.

I like how Skips actually, you know, skips instead of walks. Also, Muscleman continues to be awesome. His idea of a surprise party is to be naked? Hilarious.

Typical ending, the boys get their cake, but it's...vanilla?! Dun dunnn. (But then again, I love that kind)

Don't feel too bad. I see them as the types to blow their paycheck within thirty minutes, so they're broke until the next one comes along. If they didn't buy so many video games and get so much fast food (yep, I'm really talking about them like they're actually dudes I know) they'd have a couple bucks to rub together.

Skips' skipping is ADORABLE.

Sometimes I do want to rub a delicious cake on my body, but not my face. And I'm always going to eat it.

Meat Your Maker: It's kinda weird to see Benson happy...and wearing a shirt of any kind.

"You pissed me off." Damn, this show has balls. And lady pecs. And man pecs.

Does it make me a bad person if I laughed my ass off when the meat locker closed on the boys?

TIM CURRY VOICING A HOT DOG! Only this show, people. Only this show. OF COURSE the hot dogs were evil...but why didn't I see it coming? Tim Curry voiced a hot dog, I should've known this was coming!

This was BY FAR the best episode yet.

Grilled Cheese Deluxe: Only a matter of time before Rigby challenged Mordecai to a liar contest. Of course, Mordecai wins.

Hey, I LIKED the ostrich with the balls video!

More licensed 80's music! "Lies, lies, lies, get out!"

All this astronaut mayhem was...over a grilled cheese sandwich. Loved it. But...what the hell was with Benson and looking at gumball machines online? Is it his version of porn?

I'm seriously the only person posting in this thread. I'm sad now.

The Unicorns Have Got to Go: Hey, Rigby knew that the Body Spray wasn't going to work, but Mordecai was too busy focusing on the lady pecs to even care. It didn't attract the ladies, but it DID attract the unicorn bros. I liked that one of them was dressed as a droog from Clockwork Orange, and another had nipple piercings.

The "lady" that the unicorns brought to the party was supposed to be Peter Frampton, right? If not him, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin. The way they were taken out? Epic.

So Mordecai forgot that Margaret have a boyfriend. A scary tough-looking boyfriend (the episodes are probably aired out of order).

Didn't know that was possible and those gumballs are actual gumballs. God, I don't want to think about Benson's anatomy. Don't think I can look at a gumball machine without being disgusted for awhile.

So our boys are responsible for the loopyness of Pops? Well, of course they are.

My only regret is that 80's Mordecai and Rigby weren't clad in absurdly tiny shorts and tube socks with color blocks. Whenever I see a picture of my raised-in-the-80's brother, I mock him for what he wore, even though he rightfully insists "that's all they sold!"

I've totally done that with my voice mail message, so I had an extra-large smile on my face when it beat the Prank Call Master. The prank they pulled on Benson at the end was also super hilarious.

There's a little animated cartoon made by JG Quintel on youtube from before he made Regular Show. Benson makes a cameo in it, which is where I first learned that his body actually works like a real gumball machine. It's pretty lewd compared to what we see on the show though, so if you've got kids don't let them watch it.

Prank Callers: Tim Curry as the Prank Master!

Pops' head implied to be a giant brain tumor? Horrifying, yet hilarious.

The whole 80's sequence was absolute gold. Loved that their punishment was having uncool clothes get attached to them. "These aren't even the cool clothes from the 80's!"

One week later, Pops saying "Joe Mama" is still hilarious to me.

Don: Awwww, Rigby was such a jerk to his brother. Yep, resenting your brother because he actually cares about you and is sane? Craaaazyyyyy... (I thought Don was older...but then they pulled the "younger brother hit a growth spurt" on us. DAMN.)

Yeah, Don being drawn as a Handsome!Rigby was something for the fangirls out there. And he's naked, too! And it was because Rigby's naked!

Of all the "requisite weird thing happens" part of the eps, the Matrix taking random things from the part was one of the most awesome so far. I love that the nothingness was the exactly the same background of the title cards. I totally expected to see disembodied credits floating in the background.

I really hope Muscleman isn't gone for good. I love him and High-Five Ghost.

Rigby's Body: "YOU'RE A TURD!" "Mordecai, Rigby. We can ALL be turds!" Only Pops gets free snacks! Who're the turds, now, boys?

Yay, Muscleman & High-Five Ghost are back! So awesome seeing Fives wielding brass knuckles.

So the lesson we take away from this episode is that if you eat too much junk food, your body will spit out your soul and run off to eat salad. And of course, an empty body is ripe for the taking by douchebag weightlifter souls.

Such an awesome ep.

Man, I haven't updated this thing in months. I've just been working Monday nights for a while, and missed a bunch of episodes.

Appreciation Day: If I ever get an Appreciation Plaque, I'm totally gonna do doughnuts on a field. In a golf cart. With High-Five Ghost.

Figured screwing with a magical book with change the continuity of the world. Snowballs The Ice Monster was awesome, but I wonder what would happen if that book was a Death Note? It's just one of those weird things about this show that I'd love to think about.
