Franklin creeps me out.
Did everyone else see dollar signs in the Mickins' eyes when they walked into Merlott's?
Poor Tara. She can't even be happy after great sex.
Pam's "Fangtasia and this had better be good." Made me laugh for several minutes. I hope to see more Pam/Jessica interaction.
2nd best bromance on the show: Hoyt and Jason, right behind Hoyt and Andy.
Bill and Lorena? WTF? I am really not caring about this storyline, although I love Talbot and his snootiness.
And they are going to make us wait 2 weeks for the next episode? I hope I misheard.

They never air original episodes on holiday weekends. And they are going to make us wait 2 weeks for the next episode? I hope I misheard.

ps. What is the timeline on this show again? It doesn't seem possible for Arlene's baby to be Rene's but it definitely isn't Terry's.

You probably didn't mishear, next Sunday is the 4th of July, they don't want to compete with that. On the other hand, the promos they gave us for next week are fireworks enough.
That last scene was disturbing. In fact, you know it's disturbing when you watch it and think "Bill's going to rip her head off, right? Please rip her head off! Oh this is getting bad, it would be so much less disturbing if he just ripped her head off!"

I'd be shocked if more than two months have passed since the pilot, especially with Bud's quitting speech.

The timeline is that basically every episode since the premier is one to two days, so it's definitely Rene's.

Zima!
I love Talbot. He is the only reason that I bother watching the King/Bill plot. He was more concerned about the Celtic rug than Lorena...although I probably would have had the same reaction.

So, my screaming "TWO WEEKS!" at the top of my lungs for several seconds was not in vain. :) Aaah...I may have to purchase some dvds to get me through this.

I am SO not interested in Sam's storyline: I also saw the money signs in the Micken's eyes. As soon as the man got drunk, the vitriol started pouring out. I hope they solve it quickly.
Jason is stupid. Period. Still cute though.
Poor Jessica... I wonder how much did she tell to Franklin? She must be so scared right now... and Pam, I adore that vamp but she should have sensed the danger of a missing body. But, eh, I guess sastifying Yvetta was more important. Scratch the "I guess" from last sentence.
And Sookie: THIS is the Sookie from the first season. She inmediately knew what buttons to push and how to "suck" the info out of the werewolf with him completely clueless about it. Not like last season where apparently she had forgotten her abilities. I loved her "conversation" with Alcide, but he needs to be more fleshed out. He looks like a good deal for her, though.
Who else thought of humanity seeping through Eric when he gave Lafayette the Corvette? IDK, it doesn't so much like Eric to be giving out gifts... but I do get the idea of tangling him so he can keep him close. Or blame him for the blood selling.
I... still don't know if I liked this episode. It was good, but... man, that last scene...

Love that Lorena catching on fire wasn't a dream. Bill is sure going to dark places this season. That last scene was pure nihilism.
Also loved when Eric winked when he mentioned the "next time" Sookie shoots him.

I am a little lost on what happened with Sam in his trailer, was that the black garbage bag with all the money he took from Maryanne? And that was his brother who flew inside?
As for that last scene, wtf?!

Zima was the 1990's answer to Smirnoff Ice... only pussies and/or girls drank it.

So much new eye candy with the addition of Alcide now. I've seen Cooter (wtf) and I've seen Alcide, so his ex is one dumb chick to leave that behind. We know it's not for Cooter's upstanding values.
Bud had me cracking up with his quitting speech. The man is tired and wants to go sit down. I don't blame him with all of that crazy in Bon Temps.
Sookie, do you remember what happened last time you left town and gave Tara the entire house to herself? Apparently, you do not.

Man. The last few minutes hurt my soul. So. Very. Much.
Bill...wow... I...wow. Someone upthread said that Bill had gone to a dark place. And my immediate thought was, 'Between Lorena's thighs?' Good grief.
That was epic.
And traumatic.
I think I need an extra week to recover, anyway.
And to think, my mother wants us to watch this series together from the beginning over the Christmas holiday... I'm not sure this is a Mother/Daughter bonding experience I wanna have..

I hate Lorena's character so. I would have done a happy dance if she really died in a fire... but no, sadly.
Zima! Ha! How elegant.

My biggest problem with Sam's story line is that it is to 'normal' for me - this is escapist fiction for me and when I see a story-line about a leech (and I have had people who have tried to leech off of me) it just hits to close to home.
Sookie DROVE me nuts with her rushing in and doing dangerous shit and getting the men around her beat up. She seriously thought that she could take care of a rough vampire werewolf by herself? *sigh*
I'm still into the show though.
I also screamed at the tele when I found out I won't get a new episode till two weeks from now.

Tara, damn. Finally sex so good it makes your eyes roll back in your head, but it had too be with a psychotic vampper.
PAM!! enough said.
Terry had the line of the night "If I had a nickel for everytime I hear tha.....I'd have fif..fifteen cents." But his "whoo" about the baby was awesome. Too bad it's Rene's.

The rest of episode rocked. I loved the all the Eric scenes and the Tara/Sookie funeral scene.
Favorite line of the show was Sheriff Bud's "I quit."

Poor Cooter. You know what I've discovered about the weres? They cast the main werewolves (Cooter, Alcide) with guys who can do really good puppy-dog faces. Like, I see the "happy doggy" face when they're smiling. It's odd.
The Mickens family is TROUBLE. Horrid, horrid trouble. And I kinda wish Tommy wasn't trouble. I want Big Bro Sam to save Tommy, but I fear it's far too late for something like that. And we just met Tommy. That's annoying.
Lafayette and Eric scene? Made of win.
Also ... I find I despise Modern Lorena, but I kind of empathize with Flashback Lorena. She, as opposed to Bill, is not Worst Maker Ever!
I was hoping to find some redeeming value in Franklin, but beyond his outward manners he went through this entire episode strong-arming Tara and Jessica. Two ladies I don't want anyone strong-arming. Though his little fang-off with Jessica WAS cute. And he at least informed Jessica of some of the limitations on the home threshold. Also? I'm betting that he wouldn't have been able to pull that "invite me in" glamour on Tara if he hadn't ... you know, had that night with Tara AND learned her name. I don't know if that's an actual vampire mythology rule, but it makes me feel better than just his being able to overpower Tara's will like that.
And ... I actually enjoyed Sookie in the were bar. She knew she had backup, so of COURSE she was going to take the shortest route and go off on were-vs-vamp pride.
Having not read the books (well, only the first couple now), I do very much appreciate that they're not doing a whole "all werewolves are bad" thing. Having players on both sides of the fence is nice.
There were only a couple speed bumps for me in the pacing of this episode, and that was wonderful.
Oh, also! The King of Mississippi. He pulls off "crazy, yet off the wall, yet quietly threatening" very well. That whole finger-on-the-head-"sleep-on-it" thing? Eeeeek. It's like he's a true MASTER of the art that Sophie Anne is still learning.
Poor, poor Cooter. I do like his spiked hair and his "dress up" clothes.

- Bill twists around around the head of the blowup doll he was humping in a story line I don't care about
- Alcide shows up to facilitate Sookie finding bill in a story line I don't care about
- Sam has let complete wastes of space into his life and surprise! they are taking advantage of him in a story line I don't care about
- Tara is being controlled by a supernatural being -AGAIN- in a story line I don't care about
I think this could be the season that loses me. I dread the entrance of Alcide because of the stupid Debbie Pelt angle. I should have never read the crappy books. That along with everything else I don;t care about may mean the end of my love for this show.
If I remember right Six Feet Under lost me in season 3 also.
Anyway, If I could have the Pam/Eric/Hoyt/Jessica/Terry/Arlene's baby/Lafaette show every week it would make me much happier.
And boy did the effect go from great - Eric and the chunk of werewolf, ew! - to laughable - Twisty Lorena, please- tonight.

I may have missed some things but was Tara and Franklin the second weirdest sex of the night? Did he move at all? Did her eyes go in the back of her head like the exorcist? WTF
That last scene was sick and disturbing. Most the episode was sick and disturbing.
What is Eric doing? Why is he giving gifts? charming everyone.. for what purpose?
I felt so bad for Sam and Terry....
I think Bud has the right idea. I would get the F out of dodge.
