Nikita is most likely getting renewed it is a safe bet for a renewal on tvline. Then have you seen deadline.com that site is full of Nikita ads right now. Also in the new issue of Hollywood Reporter Nikita is plastered all over the backcover of the magazine

It would not make sense to use time and ad money on a show they want to cancel in 2 weeks. I think all these indications is a very good sign on Nikita is getting renewed

The ep aired in Canada early again. No spoilers, but the continuity porn on this show makes me practically weep with joy.

Caitlin, and that's exactly how you can tell that everyone involved with this show loves what they're doing and is truly invested in it. They care enough to make sure things match up and everything isn't meta. Just another reason to love Nikita.

I'm really worried that the show's ratings could sink even lower than 0.4 this time, since that damn Avengers movie is opening today. Damn, I hate this Friday night time-slot.

I'm annoyed I can't read them on my phone at work. No way to highight.

I've already seen the ep and I can't wait to get home and watch it all again. I've been smiling like an idiot all day.

ETA:

To answer the above question outside of black bars now that the ep has officially aired, not only is Brendan Fehr the guy from those shows listed above, he's also been on this show before, in the episode where Alex is on the team that's supposed to kill the Georgian prince. Like I said, continuity porn.

Stoned Sean is pretty much the greatest thing ever. "I'm cereal". He's so sincere and earnest sounding that I actually didn't notice he said "cereal" and not "serious" for the first 5 times I watched that scene. And I watched that scene a lot. Also the kissing. And the rest of their scenes. Basically, Sean/Alex for life, yo.

I cannot love this spy family anymore. The happier they are as we get closer to the finale, the more certain I am that someone on team Nikita is going to die in the finale. But maybe I just watch too much Whedon.

Crack. "I also taught you manners." Michael is my favorite badass, ever. I love this family so much. I, too, am terrified about what's going to happen. I've watched too much torture porn sci fi, period. It's not just Joss Whedon, it's Eric Kripke and the Torturewood guy whose name I refuse to dignify in print.

I love this family so much; I don't want them to mess with a good thing.

It's been a little while since Michael got a cereal badass moment all to himself, so his reteaching Stephen some manners was the highlight of the episode for me. And it was really nice to see all of Team Nikita (okay, minus Owen) together working on a single goal, let alone relaxing in Ryan's grunge-chic loft. I'm not gonna lie, though--that oh-so-brief scene where Sonya almost kept Percy from finding the location of the beach house? That set off the warning radar big time for some reason...albeit killing her means they couldn't kill off Birkhoff without introducing a third super-hacker, so...

Sean/alex were adorable. So adorable. Their sweet shy looks and Sean's stoned flirting were the cutest.

I loved that Michael sided with Ryan and there were no petty jealousy issues. I also loved that Nikita was wrong. She's a character that could really easily become Mary Sue, but the writers do a good job keeping her in check with storylines like this. And she admitted she was wrong, and was okay with that, and learned from it, and nobody was smug or tortured or threatened to leave the team or anything over it.

Ryan: Our house. Our rules.

I was a puddle of goo when he said this. Our fluffy little CIA agent! I wish Ryan had been in more episodes this season.

Birkhoff: You're buying the next house.

Hee. And Nikita's longing recall of her loft of fabulousness was definitely a shouout to us!

One interesting moment -- when Sonya discovered the address and realized what she'd done, her hand moved to the delete button. You could aost hear her thinking "Birkhoff!"

Why oh why Canada airs Nikita the day before the US now since last week? I'll still turn on the channel when it shows in the US but I don't know about the rest of the viewers who already watched it from online.

Is there anyone here like Birkhoff who can hack into the Nielsen system? I pay for my beloved Nikita to live on.

Totally bad, mustbekarma...but I understand. :) Birkhoff having a reluctant adversary/remotely possible love connection, with a sexy accent to boot, just clicks with me--buuuuut, by the same token, dramatic license probably demands that one of them die so the other can go all vengeful "For you, my love..." in some way. That said I'm just hoping the inevitable gets pushed back into S3 somewhere...

EDIT: It occurs to me that Birkhoff here and a character on ABC's Missing both used the phrase "cowboy up" this week. It actually sounded better coming from our friendly nerd.

Can we just talk about how funny Birkhoff was when he was preparing for the alpha team to storm the beach house? "We gotta be ready for these mutha's" - hilarious. Aaron Stanford and his fabulous delivery awesome.

High on pain meds, bed hair Sean is all kinds of awesome and funny. Was so happy that he didn't forget what he said to her, other shows would have pulled that cliched plot, in my opinion.

That ending scene was great - this ass kicking little spy family is all kinds of great - w Mommy and Daddy spy looking at them and reminiscing what it was like before they had their family.

Stoned!Sean = best ever. "This cot...is awesome!" Even Sober!Sean was on point. "What do you Russians build with, anyway? Petrified potatoes?" I about lost it at that. Sidebar: I love the Lord of the Rings movies, but when I'm in a bad mood I like to watch the extended editions with the cast commentary because of the Dom & Billy show, in particular. For the Nikita Season 2 DVDs, I want Stanford, Dillon, and Devon to be in charge of commentary. On every episode. THE SNARK, PEOPLE. Dear God in heaven, the snark.

"You're buying the next house." Poor nerd. This makes...three places now? And this one was my favorite, too. Guess that means no more lovely beach scenes.

Count me in with everyone else re: the ubernerd deadpool. I'm still scared for Birkhoff's odds, esp. now that we see Sonya hesitating, which could either be because she genuinely likes him/is amused by him/whatever and/or because she sees what a sociopath Percy is and she's not as dedicated to taking down Team Badass anymore. This could go either way: she helps them out and gets killed in the process, or Birkhoff gets taken out and Sonya replaces him. And sorry, Sonya, I like you and your nice accent and your stupidly perfect face, but I gotta side with my beloved nerdling here.

Also, count me in among those missing Owen something fierce. Never enough Owen. :(

Loved the Nikita/Ryan moment at the end, esp. the remarks about him using his head and her using her heart, and both of them appreciating the other for it.

This effing spy family, man. Allow me a tumblr fangirl moment here, but I CAN'T. WHAT IS LIFE. etc, etc.

Great episode again. This season has been flawless. If I have one complanint is that i'd like a really good Alex centric episode - we had several last season, this season she's more of a sidekick.

I really need this show to come back, I love these actors together and these characters and the solid writing and kick ass fight scenes and the pretty, and the cinematography, and how well it portrays strong women... I could go on and on.

Come on CW, it's Friday, give it a break, if you put something new there, it's probably not gonna do better.

If only Team Nikita could get Owen back. Fletcher comes back from the dead, but our our spunky little superserum addict is a no go? Is it a money issue I wonder? Sawa can't be demanding that much. He's had like one other gig in the past year.

Poor Nerd. First his money, then his house.

I'm keeping "I'm cereal" Damn stoned Sean is adorable. Almost makes up for the lack of Owen. Almost.

If this doesn't happen I'm holding you personally responsible for my heartbreak.

Count me in with the glad Nikita's sometimes wrong.

Our house, our rules.... Aww, Ryan. I'm sorry for resenting you for not being Owen. I mean, you aren't Owen, but you're ok. But just so we're clear, you aren't Owen.

This season HAS been flawless. I don't think there has been a subpar episode. I will be pissed if it's not renewed, but maybe scy fy will pick it up?
Loved everything about this episode. It was nice to see Nikita wrong- nice twist with him having a kill chip. Ryan rocks as usual. Now all we need is Owen to come back and the family will be complete. Please writers, keep the family intact as it is. No more deaths!

Squee with all the Alex/Sean goodness. I cant stop watching those scenes- i have a sickness. I just wanted some cute little scenes with all this tension but this was 100 times better. Stoned Sean was hilarious and it was so cute to see Alex nervous around him.

Sonya hesitating and almost hitting the escape button was nice to see. Birkhoff needs some action!

A bad weather report interrupted my show! Ryan was in the middle of telling Nikita and everybody that they needed to reach out to the CIA, then the meteorologist came on, and the show came back still in progress, where Ryan was trying to talk to Kendrick, and Nikita met Michael at the bar.

What happened in between? I assume that Nikita had argued against meeting Kendrick, but I didn't get to see it. When will the CW have it available online to watch?

And hurray for brilliant continuity! Who else remembers the Pilot where Nikita gate-crashes that party by posing as the escort to some Important Old White Dude and reminds Percy of how she used to be his escort back in the day?

I totally did not remember that scene from the pilot and kept asking myself, "What's Kendrick talking about?" Thanks for the info.

I love this show so much. Damn, Little Alex got herself a Navy Seal.

Cress, the episode should be online tomorrow. I just checked the CW iPhone app and it's not there yet.

Our house, our rules.... Aww, Ryan. I'm sorry for resenting you for not being Owen. I mean, you aren't Owen, but you're ok. But just so we're clear, you aren't Owen.

Mileage varies, of course. Since I speak as someone who's fine with Ryan not being Owen, because Ryan serves a purpose on this show that Owen can't serve. But that's neither here nor there, since, far as I know, Ryan being on the show is not the reason that Owen/DS didn't get to be in more eppys this season.

If any character is displacing Owen in a very basic "why him, instead of him" sense, it's Sean. Yet Ryan's the one who'll will probably be resented for Owen's absence (IIRC, something similar happened when Ryan was first introduced).

When, by contrast, I've even seen comments about how great it would be if Owen and Sean were on the show together.

The bottomline is, with this latest, very good episode, Sean, who's skillset is about the same as Owen's, was shown to have even more reason than him, for being at Homebase with Big Bad Mama Niki and the rest of her Badass Fambly. Because not only has he more or less officially become Alex's BooBoo, but the writers reminded us of what he can bring to the team in terms of government related intel or connections he'd be privy to simply because he was the son of Senator Madeline.

Not to mention that, he could remember some old Oversight-related info. which might be useful to Niki on some future mission. And then there's his military backround. I've never been into the Salex thing, but I did think that Sean could be useful as a recurring resource for Niki and her BFs . Because if he decided to work with them, there might come a time when, say, he could help them gain entrance to some super secure gubmint facility, that not even Woobie Nerd and the rest of the gang could come up with a way to infiltrate.

I do get that Owen and Sean are considered to be the Hot!Badasses! and many viewers love them for it. So, I don't in anyway begrudge anyone wanting to see these guys on the show interacting with each other or any of the other characters.

However, no matter how popular/beloved Owen is, I still don't get why Ryan, more than any other regular or recurring character, becomes the subject of unfavorable comparisons or some degree of resentment just because Owen isn't there to what, be little more than another body to bring to a fight?

Not to mention that, frankly, the presence of Michael, even more than, but along with Sean, makes it less likely/necessary for Owen to go from recurring to regular character.

In fact, just about the only way I could see them plausibly add Owen as a regular would be if they killed off Michael or Sean. Or at the very least, reduced one or both of them to recurring status to make room for Owen.

Even then, I hope they'd at least, I dunno, come up with somethin', somethin' from Owen's yet to be revealed, pre-Division backstory that would give him a special reason to become a necessary regular member of Niki's Posse.

I guess they could do that while still keeping both Sean and Mikey as regulars. But man, the show's character ratio, specifically the Homebase bunch, would be even more disproportionate in terms of males vs females, trained-killah-badasses vs smartypants-badasses, and mostly white folks vs ethnic minority peeps.

Aaand now, I pissed myself off again over how this fabulous show doesn't get the ratings it deserves.

Because if it did, instead of having to make Sophie's Choice cast/character cuts, TPTB could get the chance to create a spinoff populated by some of the good and baddie characters from Mothership Nikita, along with whatever cool newbies they saw fit to throw into both shows.
