Bryan Cranston made a name for himself in Malcolm... Who knew he was such a great dramatic actor?

Anna Gunn was terrific as Mrs. Bullock in Deadwood.

Aaron Paul still has a somewhat recurring role as Sarah's hubby Scott in Big Love.

Dean Norris had a small role in True Blood last season as the glamored limo driver.

Where else have we seen this great cast?

I've seen Raymond Cruz (Tuco) in From Dusk til Dawn 2 and in Alien Resurrection (the 4th movie in the series with Sigourney Weaver).

I've seen Giancarlo Eposito (Gus the "pollo" guy) in lots of guest tv spots over the years (e.g. Law and Order). But for me, he stands out as a former regular in Spike Lee movies, most notably in "Do the Right Thing" and "School Daze."

I never watched Malcolm, so I always thought of Bryan Cranston as Dr Tim Whatley on Seinfeld. Sometimes I think Tim & Walter are twin brothers, both attention seekers who act unconventionally, only Tim falls on the amusing or comic side of the line and Walter falls on the tragic or desperate side of the line (and I could see Tim Whatley pushing drugs, or writing illegal prescriptions).

My Name is Earl had several Baddies show up: Dale Dickey (Mrs. Spooge) had a recurring hysterical role as Patty the Daytime Hooker. Raymond Cruz (Tuco) showed up a few times as a slightly dimwitted Paco engaged to Catalina. Trust me, his intro will put you on the floor. D.J. Qualls (the young undercover cop who busts Badger) was the father of Joy's bir-racial half-sister's bi-racial baby. (In other words, he was the daddy of the baby Joy carried as a surrogate.) I still curse the cancellation of that show, and not just for losing the chance of having Cranston or Aaron Paul in a cameo run away screaming from Paco and Patty.

Cruz was also the sniper Chavez in Clear and Present Danger and is a cast member on TNT's The Closer, playing Detective Sanchez.

Dean Norris had a small role in Little Miss Sunshine as the cop who pulls the van over and finds the porn.

Dean Norris was in an ep of Medium a couple of weeks ago as the brother of Lee Scanlon. A not very nice brother. He was excellent.

I miss My Name Is Earl. :(

I mentioned in the movie forum that this isn't a real movie, but it definitely needs to be. Also? It is more proof of Aaron Paul's awesomeness.

Is Aaron just using his normal voice in "cool" mode? I found that pretty amusing on top of everything else.

Okay, so that is him! I thought the voice was familiar. It's the one where he's ogling the "babysitters".

Bryan plays Buzz Aldrin in the Apollo 11 episode of From the Earth to the Moon.

The episode covers the flight from Aldrin's perspective instead of Armstrong's, maybe because Armstrong had stopped doing press by the time the series was made.

Just caught a CSI rerun from 2002 (title: "Felonious Monk") w. Aaron Paul playing a young waiter who is a suspect in the shooting of 6 Buddhist monks.. Wow- did he look YOUNG ! turned out he was a good guy who was just trying to be friends w. the monks and learn a bit of Buddhism to deal with his asshole dad... kinda made me happy for ol Jessie to be the "good guy" somewhere in an alternate universe... ;)

People may know him from Damages or Flight of the Conchords, but the first thing that I thought when seeing David Constabile was that Thomas Klebanow is now working for Gus.

Larry Hankin, who plays demo lot owner Old Joe, had two great roles I can remember:

A truck driver in The Sure Thing who gives John Cusack and Daphne Zuniga a lift to Los Angeles. "You pay for the speeding tickets, I'll get you in the saddle."

And, what I always remember, the peddler in Faerie Tale Theatre's "Three Little Pigs" episode, who sells the straw/sticks/bricks to the pigs. (That episode, if you're curious, also had Billy Crystal as the 3rd Little Pig and Jeff Goldblum as the Big Bad Wolf. It's great, holds up really well.)

A few weeks ago, I saw a small indie movie from the 90s, called Santa Fe. (I enjoyed it, having lived in Santa Fe, and they got the silly New Age characterizations spot on.)

Anna Gunn has a small role as a groupie of a New Age guru. Interesting, since she grew up in Santa Fe.

And is Ted the guy in some insurance commercial, driving down the road with the gorilla in the car? It looks like him, but I'm never quite sure...
