I've been really enjoying some of the Trek fic I've found since the movie and thought we should really have a section to discuss (and I'm extremely intrigued by PK's thirteen story epic).

Post any recommendations (stories, videos...) here or share your own work. Since I'm a big fan of the Kirk/Spock/Bones friendship, I'd like to request warnings (gen, slash...).

I wonder if any of the old fic has been archived anywhere? I mean, Trek is one of the oldest fandoms and we always hear about how fans at the early conventions were already writing fic. I’d be curious to see if it’s somehow different in feeling, just because of generational differences. We live in a different era of pop culture. Plus there was still the possibility of fan submissions being taken for actual scripts. Would that make things better or worse? I guess the anthropologist in me is just curious.

That would be an interesting study. I haven't read much of the TOS fic. For some reason, the movie left me wanting more than the series did.

I suspect so, considering all the fic I read was old fic, mostly pre-web. There were online FTP archives for fic, and possibly old Usenet groups as well. The latter may be accessible via groups.google.com, but it's been a very, very long time since I actively sought out textual fanfic. Fanvids, that's another story....

I've recently been reading Kirk/Spock slash and McCoy/Spock slash fic and I have to admit I really enjoy it and I've never really understood the appeal of any romance fanfiction before, slash or straight.

I must ask though, it is canon that Kirk and Spock shared a bathroom or that Vulcan testicles are on their back (and if so what episode did that come up in and why). I recommend the K/S story at http://ksarchive.com...1...0&chapter=1
It has some sex scenes but you can skip over that part and still enjoy the story if that's not your thing.

I am also searching for a TNG fic a friend of mine pointed me towards ages ago. It centred around Crusher beaming down to a planet without permission to help the inhabitants and (naturally) she ends up getting caught up in their war. She's stuck down there for months before they rescue her, and is forced to live with those she sought to help in the mud trying to stay alive.

I have no idea of the title, author or site - any and all ideas welcome.

Picard falls in love with a French woman the crew finds in a crystal who turns out to be a plant. Geordi and Data hunt a mouse.

Riker and Picard mistakenly abandon Data on a planet of dancing children. Someone has been touching Worf's things, he's upset.

A pod of quantum dolphins are struck by the starboard nacelle, Picard defends himself in the dolphin murder trial. Guinan learns hockey.

There are 4 items; I slash (Archer/Trip) novel; 2 short stories, and one in (semi) script format that "fixes" TATV.
