Santana Lopez: She's a Lebanese

They aren't doing a lot with her right now other than having her be the most relentlessly antagonistic of the Glee Club infiltrators, but I feel she may be being kept in reserve for a future season. After all, once Quinn's expected conversion is complete, there will need to be another Big Bad. Santana might just be the Adversary for Season Two.

I actually had a feeling from the start that Quinn wasn't the antagonist that she was being portrayed as, and Santana would end up being the rival. Quinn'll be a full-fledged Gleek after this whole mess is through, and where does that leave Santana? We've seen that Brittany doesn't give a damn who she's hanging out with, but our latino here is more superficial than that. She wants popularity, and I imagine she's not going to be happy with losing it because of Glee.

But that doesn't even touch what I think is the main source of her upcoming rage. Quinn, her "friend," really her leader, her general, I again think is a dead lock to become a Glee Club soldier, leaving her former troops behind. Nothing inspires raw hatred like being abandoned by the object of your devoted service. I can totally see Santana screaming at Quinn: "We were about elitism, about abnegation of the existence of lesser beings, and you went native on us! You dared to care about them!"
God, she'd be like a Mephistopheles for the modern age.

In fact, the only good quality I can see is her ability to tolerate how dumb Brittany is. Even Quinn can't do that. Although, she was bitching nonstop last episode, so her comment at the bake sale table might have been out of irritation for life in general.
I do love your comparison to Mephistopheles. I wouldn't have recognized it myself, but it fits so beautifully. As does your theory about what will flip her. I completely agree. Quinn's the one that probably got them all so concerned with status in the first place, so that's a major source of backstabbing by her best friend.

Not sold on the thread title, but if y'all come up with something better (or really like this one), I'm open.
I find this thread title... confusing. Someone mentioned in the other thread "You must have a credit score of 700 to post" or her "bougie" quote as ideas. I could also go for "Santana Lopez: You can see her ovaries."

RE: Title:
While I appreciate the reference, I don't think the title really jives well with the format of the rest of them.
I liked the "bougie" title from the other thread.

Santana Lopez : Black Magic Woman
After all, right now, she is the queen of darkness for the group, at least during Quinn's pregnancy.

Maybe we should keep it simple, something like "Santana: I Find You All Ridiculous."

There ya go. Yay, nay, let me know.
I liked Maximum Taco's suggestion in the Brittany thread:
Santana Lopez: Your Credit Rating must be at least 700 to post.

I was really confused about that look at first, because it seemed so random. Kurt looks at Rachel while singing, which makes Santana happy? Didn't make sense to me. But now that I think about it, it would kind of fit if she's still trying to break up the Glee club for Coach Sylvester (or for herself) and thinks she may have found a way to accomplish that. She is a decent face-expression actor too. In the Diva-Off, when Kurt sings the line "you can't bring me down" at Rachel, Santana seems to smirk for a second and then her face changes to a sort of unsure look. Did anyone notice that? Also, what did that mean? Just curious if anyone else caught that.

This and recent joshing about the Santana/Brittany relationship had me thinking. IIRC a recurring subplot in a series called Profit was that the assistant to Jim Profit was this really good guy who SOMEHOW thought that Jim was a good person who would use his influence to help people. Jim Profit was diabolically evil. IIRC there was always an effort on Jim's part to never let the assistant who hero worhipped him find out what he was really doing. So I flashed to Santana being Sue Sylvestor's Mini Me and poor sweet Brittany loving her and looking up to her and just never comprehending what Santana was doing and Santana for her part having a soft spot for Brittany and shielding her from her ugliness so as to not lose her love.

I would be quick to scream a WTF as far as Santana/Puck goes and her reaction to Quinn had Glee not had her give Rachel total bitch face during the Sweet Caroline performance so good job Glee with that subtlety.

I thought Santana dumped Puck for his credit score (hence the thread title)... So why does she get all upset when he's with someone else?I would be quick to scream a WTF as far as Santana/Puck goes and her reaction to Quinn had Glee not had her give Rachel total bitch face during the Sweet Caroline performance so good job Glee with that subtlety.

I do not know many girls/women who are happy when their ex is seeing/dating/interested in someone who is a their friend.I thought Santana dumped Puck for his credit score (hence the thread title)... So why does she get all upset when he's with someone else?

:P You never date your friend's ex. Ever.I thought Santana dumped Puck for his credit score (hence the thread title)... So why does she get all upset when he's with someone else?
That and I always felt Puck/Santana has this on again/off again relationship... or at least they like hooking up with each other occasionally. :P

Plus, Santana and Puck? hawt. We didn't get enough the first time around.
While I hate the gosh-what-does-that-youngster-slang-mean explanations the writers INSIST on including ("gee, what's a mash-up, mommy?"), Santana did a delightfully disdainful job with hers.

I fully agree. Santana seems like the type of girl who'd dump someone for a totally arbitrary reason and then be hooking up with him again later that same day. Picture the relationship that Elaine had with David Puddy in Seinfeld.

I really want to know more about this girl, but we probably won't ever. She's just so interesting because WHAT 16 yr old think about credit scores and the like. It makes me wonder if her family has had financial issues and she's all 'never again' or someone in her family deals with finances.
I ain't saying she's a gold digger, but she ain't messing with no broke... well, you get the drift.
