I've been mulling this over, and I'm hoping I'm not the only one who thinks in song titles...

Ok, so the purpose of the thread to note songs that the couple might never dance to: "They Call Me Mr. Pitiful" by Otis Redding probably isn't a jive... but that could be applied to the couples, the judges etc. If you want to change a word in the title ie "Addicted to Hough" by Robert Palmer, that could work too.

Jonathan: "Stay!" Just a little bit longer! (Jackson Browne)
Lacey/Chelsie: Cliff Richards: "Put Your Dancin' Shoes ON!"
Derek with his Faux hawk: "Muskrat Love!" (America)
CAI: "Dancing on the Ceiling" (Lionel Richie) - or Mustang Sally: Put your flat feet on the ground!
Sam: It's Only "Words" (Bee Gees)
Aaron: "I Want You to Want Me" (Cheap Trick)
Joanna: "Slip Slidin' Away" (Simon & Garfunkle)

-- That's all I have at the moment. My current goal is to think of one for each person on the show.

Actually, the possibilities for snarkery are endless. For example:

Kelly: "I Fall to Pieces"
Maks/Karina: "Love Will Keep Us Together"
Aaron: "Papa Don't Preach"
Bruno/Donny: "It's in His Kiss (The Shoop-Shoop Song)" (Actually, I'd pay money to see them do a Cha-Cha-Cha to this one!)

By the way, Zox, I'm not familiar with America's cover of "Muskrat Love." The only version I know is this one made (in)famous by the Captain & Tennille about 30 years ago.

Zox, cool idea! Let's see...

Aaron: "As Long As You Love Me" (Backstreet Boys)
Mya: "Dancing Queen" (ABBA)
Maks/Karina: "What Goes Around" (Justin Timberlake)
Len: "Don't Be Cruel" (Elvis Presley)
Carrie Ann: "You Raise Me Up" (Josh Groban)

legaleagle44, I lOVED your song for Kelly. LOL - literally.

Would also love to see a dance to It's in His Kiss - just not by Bruno.

America did the song in 1973 on their album Hat Trick: I couldn't find a video, but Here is info on the album in question.

Derek/Joanna Future Paso: Dancing in the Dark
Sam: Everybody's Talking At Me/ And I Don't Hear a Word They're Saying...
Dmitry: Dancing With Myself
Kelly: Shakin' All Over

ETA Lolligagger LOL: Aaron's song. It's perfect. And I was trying to think of songs that included the word lift or "off the ground" for CA so that's very apt.

Why thank you. :) I can't take full credit--someone in the general discussion said it first.

I was trying to find a way to incorporate "Dancing With Myself" after Glee last night. Glad someone did. Love it!

Edyta's wardrobe choices: "Dancing (Tequila) Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" - Joe Nichols
Lacey: "Rebel Rebel" - David Bowie (yes, you can hit me now)
Chelsie pulling a Julianne and dancing around her partner: "Good Girls Go Bad" - Cobra Starship
Macy: "Basket Case" - Green Day
All the pros who don't get utilized as they should: "Take a Chance on Me" - ABBA
Jonathan, Kym, and other pros who get saddled with bad celebs but remain gracious and complimentary: "Super Trouper" - ABBA (so I've been listening to Mamma Mia lately)
Carrie Ann: "Defying Gravity" - Wicked
Donny/Bruno: "Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore" - REO Speedwagon

I want to use Soft Cell's "Tainted Love," but I can't decide who it would be best for.

How about, "Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong" for Carrie Ann?

And for Samantha? "Yakety Yak"

Lolligagger I'm still laughing at your choice for Bruno and Donny. Ditto legaleagle44 for Love Lifts Us...

I realize this is an obvious one, but:

Bruno: Send in the Clowns.
Len: Clowns to the Left of Me, Jokers to the Right, Here I am, Stuck in the Middle...
CA: Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind? (the Lovin' Spoonful)
Season 7: Cloris: And I am Telling You I'm Not Going (Jennifer Holliday)
--
Bruno: You May Be Right, I May Be Crazy (Billy Joel)
Dmitry to Mya: Hit Me Baby One More Time
Mya: Heart of Glass (Blondie)
The Newly Eliminated Aaron: There Must Be Some "Misunderstanding". (Genesis)
--
In week three every third dance resulted in the Judges' "Jive Talkin"
Neither CA or Bruno would ever be associated with "The Logical Song"
I can't make up my mind about Kelly: "Should I Stay or Should I Go Now?"
Donny: "I Hate Myself for Loving You"
Bruno: "Oh Lord, Please don't let me be misunderstood"
BallasHough's New Techno Sound: "I Started a Joke"
Advice for anyone but Mya dancing three dances next week: "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad"
and...
We'd have to modify the lyrics just a little for Joanna: "She's got Legs!/Don't know how to use 'em!"

and Carrie Ann on the topic of lifts: "Ah Shaddupa Your Face" (Joe Dolce, 1980)

And my newest pièce de résistance: for Kelly:

"It's All Because Your Mama Don't Dance, and Your Daddy Don't Rock 'n' Roll!"

Oh, I love this idea for a thread. I can only think of one right now, but I will try to come up with more.

Any partner of Julianne's - The Boy Does Nothing (Alesha Dixon)

Lolligagger- Tainted Love for Sabrina and Mark perhaps? Or Chuck and Julianne?

jackius71, how incredibley apt!

I thought of four more:

Joanna: She Moves in Mysterious Ways (U2)
Mya: She's So Cold (Rolling Stones)
Len (or any male older than him) to Aaron: I Will Be Your Father Figure (George Michael)
Kelly: Coming to Your Emotional Rescue (Rolling Stones)

ETA

Donny: any song by Twisted Sister (hee).

Lolligagger- Tainted Love for Sabrina and Mark perhaps? Or Chuck and Julianne?

That, or else "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" for both of them, or for Maks and Karina (I am so going to hell for that!)

And for Jonathan and Anna, just the opposite: "Endless Love."

(Of course, if the songs are supposed to be ones that we'd never see them dance to, then reverse those suggestions!)

Also, one more for Donny and Bruno, with a slight modification: "I Kissed a Boy (and I Liked It!)"

Now, what would be a good one for Tom Bergeron? He must be feeling awfully left out.

For Tom: either Smooth Operator (Sade) or just Smooth (Santana)

or "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" (Offspring).
--
Donny: "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" (Bleu)
Derek: please be "Forever in Blue Jeans" (Neil Diamond)
Kelly: "Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi)
Len and Bruno, but maybe not CA, to Derek: "Bad Case of Lovin' You (aka "Doctor, Doctor") by Robert Palmer
Bruno to Donny: "Baby Don't Get Hooked on Me" (Rascal Flatts)

or should that last one be from Jonathan to those of us who wish he'd last more than one week.

It's so tempting and so easy to turn lots of angtsy break up songs to Maks & Karina, but I'll try and resist.

Barbie Girl (Aqua) - Joanna/Holly Madison
Fever (Peggy Lee) - Lacey/Mark/Derek - though according to the show, mostly Derek
Making Your Mind Up (Bucks Fizz) - Len re: Mya and Dmitry
Maybe This Time (Liza Minnelli) - Kym Johnson (runner up twice - maybe this time, for the first time, I'll win?)
--
Thank You For the Music (ABBA) - Harold Wheeler (with the last word in inverted commas)
Anything Goes (Cole Porter) - Lacey Schwimmer
Sex Crime (Eurythmics) - Mark & Sabrina's tiger paso, Derek & Joanna's mambo
I Want It All (Queen) - Mark Ballas (Melissa's not going to win? Screw her!)
Sex on the Beach - Shannon and Derek (Joanna & Derek?)
--
When I Kissed the Teacher (ABBA) - Shannon & Derek, Chuck & Julianne etc Showmance theme song!
What Becomes of the Broken Hearted (Jimmy Ruffin) - Toni Braxton (well Jimmy, they get bizarrely eliminated before crazy old ladies, that's what)
I Don't Feel Like Dancing (Scissor Sisters) - didn't watch this season, but from what I've heard - Master P
Will My Arms Be Strong Enough (BWO) - This is an SCD joke, but I couldn't resist - Brendan Cole - check out Brendan/Lisa showdance
--
Flamboyant (Pet Shop Boys) - Bruno Tonioli
What Have I Done to Deserve This? (Pet Shop Boys) - Jonathan (Heather Mills? Marie Osmond? Macy Gray? You just know he's thought this at least once)
Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson) - Tom DeLay
I Can Make You a Man (Rocky Horror) - Aaron/Cody
Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel) - Marlee Matlin (Yup, I'm burning in hell)
--
I Don't Like Mondays (Boomtown Rats) - Jennie Garth (With a new chorus of 'But I'm Totally Fine With Tuesdays')
Rhinestone Cowboy (Glen Campbell) - Ty Murray (too obvious?)
Time For Miracles (Adam Lambert) - Kelly Osbourne (let's face it, she'll need one this week)
You're So Vain (Carly Simon) - Where to begin? Derek, Mark, Maks...
Baby Got Back (Sir Mixalot) - Kim Kardashian - the show got there first with this one, but it was genius
If I Could Turn Back Time (Cher) - Sabrina Bryan - cause you know she would. She keeps trying!

jackius71, I loved "SexCrimes", but shouldn't that be for Bruno and Donny? And LOVED "What Have I Done to Deserve This" - so perfect. I'm still chuckling.

I was listening to my Billy Joel albums this weekend...

Tom Delay on the show: "Don't Ask Me Why"
Samantha: "If I Only Had the Words"
The Judges' Table should be: "No Man's Land"
Whoever goes home tomorrow: "Say Good-bye to Hollywood"

and to those women who don't do so well in hold: "I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight" (Journey)
--
I'm sure this is a song title - C&W - but I couldn't find out who sings it. I was trying to watch Sabrina's and Mark's Paso - I didn't vote for either of them - but just couldn't do it, so I FF'd to the end and saw their last moves and thought of this: Mark to Sabrina:
"How Can I Get Over You, If You Won't Get Out From Under Me?"

[and no, I don't think Sabrina is skanky, but I thought the song was funny]

This is for the Dwts Singers... oh and for a few of the musical guests...
"I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing in Perfect Harmony" (Hillside Singers)(I had to look it up, cause I was knew it wasn't just a Coca-Cola commercial).

The entire show is about: "The Polictics of Dance" (Re-Flex)
"Let's Go All the Way" (Sly Fox)

Kelly and Louis to their fans: "Don't Give Up on Us, Baby" (David Soul)
Cheryl to any of her celeb partners: "Cruel to Be Kind" (Nick Lowe)
Mya: "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" (Bachman-Turner Overdrive)
Joanna to Derek: "You Keep Me Hanging On" (the Supremes)
Kelly: "Let the Little Girl Dance" (Billy Bland)
Joanna: "Wiggle it, Just a Little Bit" (2 in A Room)
Donny to Kym: "Save the Last Dance for Me" (The Drifters)

and by tomorrow night it will be proved that one of the stars, today did: "Train in Vain" (the Clash)
--
Another way to explain the fanbases: "Mob Rules" (Black Sabbath)

OK, I just couldn't resist this one for Maks/Karina: "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" (Neil Sedaka)

And for the band and the singers? "You Can't Stop the Beat" (although Heaven knows they certainly come close!)

I'm sure I'll come up with more after I've had a chance to watch last night's performance show.

Donny: "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" (Bleu)

Ok, apparently his feet weren't listening...

Mya: "Is It Over Yet?" (Wynonna Judd) (although that could be for Derek & Joanna who seemed a little lower energy last night)
Kelly: "She Drives Me Crazy" (Fine Young Cannibals)
Joanna: "Nowhere Fast" (Meat Loaf) (I thought their Cha Cha was a little slowed down so Joana could keep up)
Donny: "Don't Give Up" (Peter Gabriel)

Marie to Donny (and can she PLEASE stay off my screen): "Don't Blame Me" (Ozzy Osbourne)

Oh, and as Derek seems to be so fond of one of the only moves that Joanna can do (is there a male equivalent to the HMV abbreviation) - Joanna to Derek:
"Do That To Me One More Time", Once is Never Enough With A Man Like You (Captain and Tennille)

and does anyone else think of "Blow Me Away" (Breaking Benjamin) or "Blowin' in the Wind" (Bob Dylan) whenever they see the Crotch Drop Manoeuver?
--
I figured out what the problem is with the DwtS Singers: they've invented a "Brand New Key" (Melanie).

Kelly: "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" (Urge Overkill)
Donny: "Pickin' Up the Pieces" (Average White Band)
Mya: "Nobody Does it Better" (Carly Simon)
Sabrina: "Don't You Forget About Me" (by Simple Minds)(hee).
Bruno to Joanna: "My Angel is a Centerfold" (J. Giles Band)

Bruno to Kelly: Let Me Go "Crazy On You" (Heart)
Mya: "Private Dancer" (Tina Turner)
Louis and Kelly: "Break On Through to the Other Side" (the Doors)
Kelly (who apparently blanked on her Rhumba solo): "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" (Meat Loaf)
Donny: "I'm Still Standing" (Elton John)

Chelsie to Louie (we just have to change one word): "You Really DON'T Got a Hold On Me" (Smokey Robinson)

Joanna to Derek: "You Keep Me Holding On" (Diana Ross?) I think the original title is "hanging on."

Can we use past season's contestants?
Marie: "Faint" (Linkin Park). Ahahaha...ha...ha?

Ok, for Marie: "I Get Weak" (Belinda Carlisle)
Shannon Elizabeth: "Weak in the Knees" (Serena Ryder)
Steve Woz: "Total Disaster" (Vader) or maybe the theme from Apocalypse Now?
Steve-O: "Flat on the Floor" (Nickelback)

I'll have to give this some thought...

I'm trying to figure out who to apply: "Every Time I Look at You I Go Blind" (Hootie and the Blowfish) to? Steve Wozniak? Cloris? Marie Osmonde? Macy? Mark B on days when his mugging is too much? Bruno on the table? Kym - who I love - in her sparkly costumes? Decisions, decisions...

To all the "Stars" whom I had never heard of before they appeared on this show: "Every Dog Has It's Day" (Flogging Molly).
To all the "Stars" we'd forgotten about from times gone by: "Give Me Just a Little More Time" (The Chairmen of the Board)

Aaron: "These Eyes Are Crying" (The Guess Who)
Ashley Hamilton - we just need to change a sylable: "So Forgettable" (Nat King Cole)
Susan Lucci: "Relax" (Frankie Goes to Hollywood)
David Alan Grier: "I Can't Dance, I Can't Talk" (Genesis)

DwtS' Floor Stage Manager to Tom B: Ground Control to "Major Tom" (David Bowie)
DwtS' Costume Dept: "Shiny Happy People" (R.E.M.)

Mark D/Chuck/Louie for their Two-Step: "Walk This Way" (Aerosmith)

My acknowledgement of Ringers on DwtS and my opion of the same: "What Is and What Should Never Be" (Led Zeppelin)

Sabrina/Mark's DAD: "That Don't Impress Me Much" (Shania Twain)
Chuck Wicks trying to shake his hips: "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" (Shania Twain)

Donny to Marie: "Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better" (from Annie Get Your Gun)
Mya: "Where Did It All Go Wrong?" (U2)
Kelly: "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" (Neil Diamond)

Donny: "I'm On the Top of the World" (The Carpenters)
Mya: "The Winner Takes It All" (ABBA)
Kelly: "Strong Enough" (Cher)

I'm a Julianne fan, but it's true I'll watch DwtS: "With or Without You" (U2)
Derek to Julianne: "Sister Golden Hair" (America)
Woz: "Don't Come Around Here No More" (Tom Petty)
Kym & Maks: "Nights on Broadway" (The Bee Gees)
Maks - re: his blog: "Tell It Like It Is" (Aaron Neville)
--
I know why Joanna didn't win: Cause "Nothing Beautiful Lasts" (Odds)
