From zap2it.com:

A normal day turns to chaos when everyone on Earth blacks out for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and sees events from their own futures.

Wow. Ok, well it started off a little slow but by the end I was hooked. It's very interesting to see who did this and why and who is the guy in black?

The case on this show is amazing, even if half of them are imports from England. I'm really excited for next week.

Well, I'm definitely in. That was the best pilot I've seen in a while. Obviously there are the two main plots are what caused the flash forward (my guess is some type of scientific accident) and dealing with the fallout of what people saw in the flashes. The only problem I forsee is the loss of dramatic tension once they hit April 29th. Oh, and that the LA field office of the FBI is going to be riding point on this. There's no way OHS wouldn't take this over completely.
By the by, that was emmy-level work from Seth MacFarlane.

That was surprisingly good! I think the previews at the end of the episode spoiled the whole season, but I'll be tuning in next week anyway.

Definitely liked this. A great pilot for a very promising show. Other than some spotty CGI during the disaster sequences (though much of it was well-done), I have no apprehensions right now. The premise is great, I like the characters, the mystery is both intellectually and emotionally compelling, and seeing that guy walking on the security camera gave me chills.

In particular, I really appreciated how fast everyone put everything together, without a lot of denials and "that's impossible"s.

I am definitely going to need to get a TiVO.

I liked that! But... Tampa sweeps the Red Sox at Fenway next April? Yeesh, who'd we lose in the offseason?

I kid. But I like the whole predestination paradox aspect of the flash forwards.

It was refreshing. I also liked that someone thought to use the pervasive CCTV in the world to do some basic research.

Plus Joseph Fiennes is very pretty.

Wow. Fascinating premise, great cast, really well-constructed episode... that's the most exciting series premiere I've seen in years. I'm definitely in.

...and seeing that guy walking on the security camera gave me chills.

I had the same reaction. This could be a wild ride!

Very intriguing. I think John Cho's character being dead is a little too obvious, and if he's not dreaming - perhaps a coma? If someone's after his partner, it's not out of the question.

If they can keep up that level of writing and tension, I'm in for the long haul.

Love it! As soon as I saw the Oceanic airline sign in the background before the flash forward, I knew nothing good would be happening.

So far I like the cast, they've already presented lots of questions and that twist at the end was great. Personally, I think that mysterious person in Kyser Soze!

I'm so glad I didn't see any previews or interviews about the show. I'm going spoiler-free on this one.

Okay, good enough to keep me coming back.

The most fascinating aspect of this show so far (to me, at least) is the Sarah Connor conundrum: is there truly no fate but what we make, or is predestination the overriding principle of the universe? It appears that FF is going to take the trope one step further, in the Joseph Fiennes character. Professionally, he has to hope that the future will play out the way it did in his vision so he can figure out what happened. Personally, he's hosed if he can't change the future.

I think I'm gonna enjoy watching the cast bat the ball against that particular wall.

I thought that was pretty damn cool. I don't usually go in for plot-driven, high-concept shows like Lost, but I'm signing up for this one.

Joseph Fiennes' American accent was flawless. Very impressive.

Edit: Whoa, Sonya Walger (Olivia) is British, too?! She also nailed the accent -- I would never have guessed!

AWESOME.

I was totally prepared to hate this show because I am *geek* a Robert Sawyer fan and as such had read the book when it came out in 1999. Without giving too much away, in the book, the main characters are physicists at CERN in Geneva (and they flashforward to something like 20 years in the future), so I was worried about how it would translate. I still wish they would have kept the physics premise, but whatever.

I think John Cho's character being dead is a little too obvious,

In the book, (MEGA spoilers) there is a character, Theo, who deals with the same problem. He finds out from Mosaic that he gets murdered the day before when they flashforward to. So he spends the next 20 years completely messed up and trying to prevent his murder. Also, his own brother is the first person to prove you can change the future because he had a vision but he kills himself.

OK, I had reservations about this, having read the book, but the pilot episode put those reservations to rest. It looks like it's going to leave the book in the shade, it was that good! And maybe I'm just LOST-obsessed, but Joseph Fiennes reminded me a lot of Nestor Carbonell, which kept making me go, "Huh?!"

Yay!

Those were some lengthy "future episode" previews at the end. Did they last 2 minutes 17 seconds?

Okay holy crap that was fantastic. That is without doubt one of the best pilots I've seen in a very long time. I'm intrigued to find out about everyone's flash forward. That is so unusual because I always hate somebody.

This is one of my favorite aspects of the show. All the people who don't want their future to happen may inadvertently do things that cause their future to happen. Olivia and the father (who's name I can't remember) is particularly interesting in this aspect, as is Mark's. They may do everything they can to prevent their future and, by doing so, actually cause it happen.

I think this is going to be a really great show, I think. It all depends on how well the rest of the episodes hold up to the pilot.

What the heck was with the kangaroo? I didn't stick with Lost after the first season but could this be something like the polar bear? So odd.

I really enjoyed that. I didn't look at the clock once while I was watching it. I started to care about the characters almost right away, especially the married couple (don't know all the names yet).

Definately going to set the season pass on this one. I hope it sticks around. I don't usually watch anything at 7:00p.m. on Thursday, I'm thinking Survivor and Bones would be the main competition. The Vampire Diaries probably won't make a dent.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this catches on quick.

I am so in! I also liked the fact that this particular story won't drag; we already know who Olivia is going to be with in the future. That was so cool!

I wonder what the children saw in their flash forward?

Is it next Thursday yet?

I thought this show was absolutely phenomenal. Definitely an acceptable Lost replacement.

One thought on the Kangaroo...is there a zoo anywhere in the general vicinity? It's possible that with everyone blacked out some of the animals, including the Kangaroo, escaped and this one just happened to wander past.

I finally have a good show to watch before Supernatural. The cast is fabulous, I've read in some reviews that people have a problem with Joseph Fiennes but I thought he was totally fine.

The show is being advertised as the next LOST and it totally lived up to that. I mean the opening sequence was eerily similar to the way Lost started, our Hero wakes up from a car accident seeing total chaos surrounding him. Cars explode. People are on fire. There are people screaming and running around freaking out. A kangaroo randomly shows up and hops around in the middle of the city which totally reminded me of the Polar Bear in Lost. It was fabulous. The mystery is super interesting and it really keeps you on your seat. I cannot wait to see Dominic Monaghan (CHAHHLIE!) show up. I heart him and am looking forward to seeing him play a totally different character.

All in all, the pilot was a great start to the show. All the characters are actually quite interesting so far and I'm looking forward to seeing where the writers go with the show. I am going to need a show to fill up the hole Lost will be leaving once it airs it's final season. I have high hopes that this show will be the one to do that..

This was definitely a very strong premiere - perhaps the best one since LOST. The cast, writing, direction and premise are all wonderful. I hope they can sustain it through the end of April as I'm already running scenarios in my mind trying to guess what happens after the flash point.

Of *course* Charlie knows what caused the flash forwards. I don't think I laughed so goddamn hard all day.

So. One episode? I'm hooked.

The build-up to the event itself was fun to watch, but nothing that followed it told me why I should be caring about these specific people in Los Angeles, as opposed to any of the other billions throughout the world who went through the same thing.

Loved it. I am such a sucker for this type of show that I knew I'd like it. I just didn't know how much.

It is refreshing, as mentioned earlier, that they didn't milk an episode or two out of discovering about the visions and then another two tracking down the footage of the one guy who remained awake. It gves me faith that they have a lot of story to tell.

I enjoyed of the plot lines by even if they were all dull I would still be wondering why is the suspect at a baseball game? I mean if he is the villan, is that really where he'd choose to be when everyone went down? Did whatever go off by accident and "our mad" scientist had just scored great tickets to the game? That alone would have me recording it to see why.

LOL! Maybe! I actually had to turn the channel before they were over so I wouldn't miss the start of Fringe.

Wow. Wow. So good! I haven't been this excited by a new show in a few years. I really hope it's a success - all the actors were so well cast, I think, and all doing a great job.

I'm very excited that the future flashforward fell on my 35th birthday. Guess I know where I'll be that night- right in front of my TV.

Was the kangaroo a CGI effect? It seemed like it.

So they kept Lloyd Simcoe in the show - interesting. For those who haven't read the book, he's the main character in the book, although he is not British. And wow, does Jack Davenport look hot without a powdered wig.

Shirtless John Cho very soon - please let it be next week. I wonder if his fiancee is lying- she says she saw them at their wedding, while he sees nothing at all.
