Hi everyone can anybody tell me when TVD will return?
Posted Sep 27, 2013 @ 8:43 PM
Just saw that CTV2 (Canada) has put TVD on Sunday's instead of simulcast with The CW on Thursdays.

In prelim #s, the show is 3rd place at 8. Which is great for this network.
I mean, it obviously owes part of that to ABC/NBC doing so very terribly, but congrats still.

Hmm, yesterday it tied The X Factor for 3rd place in the 18-49 demo, but it had a better % of audience within the demo which gives it the edge.
Obviously X Factor had a special Voice to contend with, but LOL at the thought that a CW show might just get 2nd place one of these weeks.

It beat X-Factor actually, it was adjusted up to a 1.3, while X-Factor kept its 1.2 rating

This week tied for 2nd place with X Factor, but again it had a better % of audience within the demo which gives it the edge.
The CW execs must be throwing parties right now and ready for this show to last as long as Supernatural/Smallville.

Oh, thank god, Klaus will be gone for another season, this time with (hopefully) no crossovers.

The show hit a series low 0.7, down four tenths. [snip]

Wow, that's a lot lower than I thought it would go anytime soon. Not too surprised though given how awful the show has been lately.

I don't know if the drop is about Katherine since the character has always been in and out and yes they've said she's emphatically dead this time (which I still don't buy) but I still can't see that being it. I think contrary to what Plec and company believe and the skewed audience of screaming tweens they had in the audience at the panel, viewers are just sick of the same tired shit.
Frankly, if anything, the nonsense they spewed at the PaleyFest panel might have been the thing that ruined the ratings because honestly, when I read THR summary of what to expect for the rest of the season, nothing in it exactly excited me. There wasn't one thing that was different than what they've been doing for the entire damn season.
The whole Elena/Damon/Stefan mess just needs to a damn break already - enough. Speaking for myself but I don't want to see Damon doing shitty, asshole things anymore that just gets swept under the rug with his "ain't I cute snark", I don't want to hear Elena saying the same tired shit of why she can't be with Damon and why he's bad for her while they continue to have the same OTT sex scenes against walls and tables because apparently it's so hot, I don't want to see pointless, manipulative ship bait scenes between Stefan and Elena, I don't want to have mysteries/drama that seems thrown together in five minutes with the same repetitive narration and nothing really happening.

I think I'm an evil and ugly person, but to be fair (to everyone, including myself) now that I'm not getting paid to cover this show, when I read the ratings have dropped, I mostly think, "Deserve it."

Katherine being killed, another dopplegangland, same Delena drama, limited use of Tyler, Jeremy and Bonnie. Viewers are sick of the same old same old. Seriously Supernatural is ratings better than it these days, and its because at least they make an effort to introduce new threats every season.
Although the ratings drop every season, and still amange to level out. This is the first season to not have any episodes reach or go over 3 million. It wouldn't surprise me if season 6, the ratings are just above 2 million or below, and the show reaches more .7 and .8's in the demo.
