"If you give me a sheep, I can make you a sweater."

Who else was suddenly sad that we'll never get a Project Runway/Top Chef crossover?

Hm...You will be divided into four groups of 3. One designer will make a dress out of raw protein, one will make a fruit and vegetable pantsuit, and the last must make an evening gown out of nuts and grains. And later on Top Chef, the cheftestants will make a buffet for 40 in two teams of six using two mini collections from Project Runway as their material. Sounds delicious.

Anyway, I kind of love Gordana. She seems so mature and no-bullshit, which is always good. And I really liked her dress this week, and it could have won if it were gown-length.

Gordana seems mature but not 'heavy' - she has a sense of humor that I like. And I agree that the dress needed to be gown length to really work. With her generally measured and sensible attitude, I hope she'll go far, but either way I think she'll be fine.

Did anyone else notice that Gordana and her model (Tara) have the same chin?

I loved the geometric stuff at the top of her dress, but I agree, the length on her dress was more cocktail and less red carpet for the style that it was.

Gordana auditioned before! She was in the season 3 montage of rejects. I was reading an old recap on FourFour and there she was, offering to make a sheep out of a sweater. Link

I love both her outfits. I thought her red carpet dress would have worked for something like the Golden Globes. And I would wear her maternity outfit, even without being pregnant.

I don't think Tara's chin has a divot, but they also have rather similar hair color, hairstyle, jawline, and cheekbones. When dimple-chinned, reddish-haired Nicolas picked Gordana for the team challenge, the three of them ended up looking like the strawberry-blonde chinny family during the judging. (Celine was... their adopted daughter, or a visiting exchange student from the planet Glamazon.)

Maybe it's a quirky law of nature that Gordana attracts similar-looking people to her. Maybe she has a flatironed, high-cheekboned mail carrier, and when she hops in a taxi, there's a strawberry-blond, square-jawed driver, and on PR, there's a chinny, reddish-haired cameraman filming her.

I think Project Runway needs someone who represents an older demographic. Jordana seems to have her act together. She also seems to be a team player. I think we will see some good designs from her this season.

Loved Gordana's nude-colored dress and thought it should have been in the top three instead of Carol Hannah's. She also seems calm, sensible and kind. I'm pulling for her.

While I didn't think the color choice was ideal for what was supposed to be an eye-catching, talked-about event dress, I thought the construction was impeccable. One of the reasons I like Gordana so much - apart from her sensible, pleasant personality - is that she is so precise and attentive to detail. In fact, most of my favorite designers this season (Shirin, Louise, Epperson) share that strength.

I loved her dress too. Maybe an off-white, instead of the beige, would have looked better? Anyway, I know what kind of look she was going for with the color, but it didn't work with her model's coloring. I would have put it in the top three, along with Louise and Epperson, who should have won in my opinion.

I've loved everything Gordana has made so far, but I fear she is destined for Sweet P Land, the place where she hears, "we know you can make something commercial, but can you be an artist?" Sort of a shame that people who have been in the business for years and have adapted to it are at a disadvantage...

I'd love to see her thread title ultimately become "Give her a sheep and she'll win Project Runway" but I fear it will never happen. Yeah, she's like Sweet P. A wise Sweet P who dispenses golden nuggets of knowledge.

I hope that Gordana, after being told she's too safe two weeks in a row, gets angry and does an all or nothing design which is totally spectacular.

Maybe she should change from "What should I do with this challenge" to "What do I want to do with this challenge".

I think that Zoe Glassner has it out for Gordana, possibly due to her "advanced age" (rolls eyes.)

Girlfriend finally won and with a gorgeous dress! Congrats Gordana! I hope she takes Tim's comments to heart and continues to push boundaries. That was exactly the advice she needed.

It seems like the judges have it out for older designers this season, which I'm not sure would be the case if both MK and Nina were still judging. Some of the young designers seem to slide by with poorly constructed garments while Gordana always ends up on the bottom. I'm hoping now that Tara is gone and Gordana has a more talented model, she won't end up in the bottom as often. Althea has a lot of lackluster designs, but Tanisha's walk has been able to save many a look. I thought it was interesting how in the last challenge Gordana's look used more of an Epperson style with the frayed fabric strips. Once Epperson departed from that aesthetic, he got kicked off.

This week's recap is the second in a row in which LuluBates has referred to Gordana as German. LuluBates, Gordana's not German; she is Croatian. I'm sorry if I'm being picky.

Love Gordana - I've loved her all along for a number of reasons, including her design aesthetic and the fact that most of her clothes are impeccably constructed. Unlike some of the judges, I happen to believe that designers, as well as 'dressmakers' should be able to construct beautifully.

I don't know why Heidi had to say that 'for once' crap, but at least Gordana got the win - deservedly, IMHO. And I was touched, on her behalf, that her fellow contestants were so clearly thrilled with the win.

With Heidi hating her - I do wonder why - and the overall judging tending to underrate her for the most part, I don't know if she'll make Bryant Park. I just know I want to see a lot more of her designs.

According to T-Lo via Lifetime, she's "from a small Serbian village in Bosnia". Though she could be ethnically Croatian, I guess... Where'd you read that?

--And ethnicity aside, I fully love her and believe that she ought to take this whole thing. Considering how begrudgingly they handed her the win last week, though, I don't see it happening..

I love her too and think she's a sweetheart and when she does well, she kicks ass. But she's been slowly falling apart and I almost want her to get a mercy auf just to save her sanity.

With Heidi hating her - I do wonder why

I don't get it either. I understand her being mean to Mitchell because he was an idiot but why a nice lady like Gordana? I don't think Heidi's a bitch but she seems to have it in for Gordana to a weird degree. Why couldn't she just support her when she did well and leave out the backhanded compliments.

If anyone ever does find out why Heidi seems to hate Gordana, I hope they'll come here and post. But it's unlikely, since Heidi doesn't blog and anyway it would not be in her best interests to admit it if it's personal or cultural dislike. But I am absolutely bewildered and it does hurt what used to be real affection for Heidi.

An awful lot of us love you, Gordana!

I take back what I said about Heidi. She is a bitch after all.

She's mean to Gordana in a way that is clear that Heidi has a problem with her that goes beyond the clothes. It's disturbing.

I don't think Heidi hates Gordana. Heidi's comments to her are no worse than the stuff she says to some of the other designers. I like Gordana too, but I can see where the judges are coming from with their comments. Gordana needs to have more confidence and get out of working with such muted colors.I think some of her silhouettes are very classic, but when she does everything in grey, or shades of, it comes across so drab and dreary, and yes old.

I agree with you, aquamarine. I don't see Heidi having any more of a problem with Gordana than the rest of the "meh" designers. And I do consider Gordana meh. I've seen her "real life" fashion line, and it's nice, but her stuff on the show hasn't impressed me at all.

I do agree about Gordana's color choice. I wonder what the judges would have said about that gray jacket if it had been in another color. Aubergine or cobalt blue for instance. I thought the design was nice -- except for the very low hem in the back.

But nobody seems to have an eye for color this season.

Dear Gordana,

Between what I still believe is Heidi's deep hatred of you - her final 'encouraging' comments seemed generic and lukewarm to me - and the lack of any consistent judging ethos, I maintain that you were robbed.

Regardless of PR, I will continue to follow your career and I hope to be able to buy GoGa creations in the future.

I was disappointed that Gordana engaged in petty sniping this last episode. Also, it would have been nice if she had put in a side zipper, and then there would have been nothing to have complained about.

I'm not fond of Gordana, but since her dress was much better executed than Althea's, it would have been nice if they had allowed her to go to fashion week as well. But, I don't know the ins and outs of the production problems that might have caused.

Oh how I yelled at the television when they auf'ed my girl.. I think she'd have blown them all out of the water at BP.

But I feel better after listening to this interview because it sounds as though she's going to do alright regardless.

According to an interview with Gordana posted in Heidi's thread - the post was about the tensions between Heidi and Gordana - Gordana came in fourth and this was the first time in the history of PR that the fourth place designer wasn't given the money to show (out of competition and off camera) at Bryant Park.

Gordana seems to think the reasons were economic - though she decries them, understandably - and I have to admit I admire her even more for not jumping to the conclusion that it might have been personal, given Heidi's attitude towards her.

btw, my off-line friends who watch PR all think Gordana was robbed completely.

I loved Gordana's dress even if it was...er...labial in its design. The back zipper wasn't glamorous, she should have had left the dress looser in the bodice and tightened it with lacework like a corset or done a more classic hook/eye or button closures.

That's a real shame, I've seen her post-runway collection and it's gorgeous.
