The host has been confirmed.
The big overseas guest here to remind us how much Australian entertainment sucks has been booked.
The push to give Ian Smith a Gold Logie has apparently been successful.
All that's left now is to discuss. (And watch, when it eventually airs on May 3rd.)

This awards show is a bigger joke than our entertainment industry.
And with no Joan Rivers, I don't think I'll be watching it.

Holy crap, it almost wasn't bad.
But why were they strangling kittens? (No, wait, that was Annie Lennox.)
Speaking of musical numbers, it's nice to see that when they copy something from American awards shows, they fix the obvious problems. THAT was how to do an In Memoriam segment with a live performance -- a standard roll call of the people who died, and then additional highlights over the sweeping stage shots. Amazing.
Edit: And of course it's totally on Youtube.

See raceguy I found the InMemorium excruiatingly bad. I don't think the focus should be on anyone but the people who died. Not some hack singer who should never have got plastic surgery.

So, this Sunday. Who else is going to pretend to watch it?

I just saw the opening monologue from this year's show (thanks, SnideAsides!), and people of Australia, you have my sympathy.
