This has not been a good week for Anne 'The Limp' Slowey. Not only has she been generally lambasted for her ridiculous performance in Stylista, but also the magazine that she runs has been put on hold.

Somewhere, Nina Garcia is laughing.

I know Nina Garcia and you, miss, or no Nina Garcia.

And the urge to make that comment is my only reason for posting. I love Project Runway and can even watch ANTM as candy if I turn off my brain. I am the opposite of entertained by her and her show.

Slowey is such a poseur. Any contestant worth their weight in magazine clippings would have laughed in her face and poured the iced latte all over her overpriced shoes, thin straw and all.

This cracked me up:

Elle's Anne Slowey: Starvation and Style Go Hand-in-Skeletal-Hand

So it’s totally understandable that she dispenses terrible advice, considering her brain must be more or less pickled by her alcohol intake that appears unmitigated by anything so exotic as actual food.

Hee!

Wow! Not only can Anne not walk in heels but whoever put her in that first dress should be fired. She looked like the before picture for those shape thingees with the tummy leading into the room and the rolls of fat between the bra and the belt and the belt and the top of her panties or whatever she was wearing. She looked like she was maybe pregnant, but if she is she needs to adjust her wardrobe because that was just so bad it was What NOT to Wear.

I kept trying to figure out if that was a fat roll or if it was just her dress poofing out like that. She looked so dumpy!

I think she should learn how to style herself before judging others.

That poochy dress was just incredible!
(Not in a good way...just to be clear).

Does anyone have any details on her background before she got into the NYC magazine scene? I'm guessing midwest.

The brocade pooch is this season's hottest trend.

I was pretty sure that the 'brocade pooch' (thanks Dolphincorn) - was this dress from Prada's fall 2008 collection, but apparently it only exists in lace, not brocade.

So we have a show that is a poor man's knockoff of 'The Devil Wears Prada' in which the poor man's 'Devil' wears knockoff Prada? So meta, it's almost brilliant.

Is it too much to hope that Anne gives the entire 'I took a chance, I hired the smart fat girl' speech from TDWP to Danielle before firing her?

Agreed. She also needs to learn how to walk in heels. If this show gets picked up
another season maybe she will get lessons from Ms. Jay.

I thought it was absolutely hysterical how throughout all the previews they were showing all of these clips ("she's evil" "she's horrible") and implying that they were about Anne.... and then they were all about Meghan!

Anne herself, especially during the assistant task, seems to have given up the bitch-on-wheels persona of last week. For the most part she was more like a rather stern teacher -- commending excellence, but pointing out flaws rather dispassionately and expecting people to do their homework. Even with Kate's wreck of a mannequin, she really wasn't being mean about it --- given that Kate was smiling and kind of giggling the whole time, I think that Anne was giving critique in a way that she thought would get through Kate's head, but not hurt her feelings. If Jason or Danielle had dressed their mannequins like that, for instance, I think Anne would've given the critique differently, but with the same end result. I had a writing professor like that -- for some people he would give the critique almost harshly, but in a way that made us laugh and acknowledge where we'd gone wrong, and for other people (the more highly strung or sensitive) he would couch it more carefully.

Marc Jacobs designed what appears to be a detachable pooch for Louis Vuitton.

Anne, like most editors I've worked with, seems to be all business. When I worked for Glenda Bailey, she answered every question about Bazaar like a college professor who had studied the magazine's "message" for her entire career. In the second episode Anne reminded me of her. It was far less devlish and not nearly as intriguing.

Thankfully, the contestants were adding all the drama I could have hoped for.

I only caught the clip show because nothing else was on, and now, because a game delayed it, the new episode is on at 11:30 so, again, nothing is on and I will watch it.

But I'm disgusted by it for the main reason that this B*tch is being so rude and calling people out for their fashion sense when she is wearing that disgusting black and white lace dress...and I use the term dress loosely. You can tell that she looks at the label, says "ok, D&G is hot this season so I'll wear it" paying no attention to what the garment actually LOOKS like.

And I may go to hell for this, but I hope her neice grows into her face cause girl is rough. I only feel a little bad for saying it because she seems to be as big a byatch as Anne.

This woman always looks like she is constipated and I am not kidding. I would not work for her if she was giving the job away.

I think she's missing the sasiness (and brains) of Nina Garcia. While Nina seems rude sometimes, she has the knowledge, background and looks to support her remarks. On the other hand, Anne Slowly is... a charicature.

Oh and SANDYSAS: shes not constipated -she's simply drunk on an empty stomach. Ew.
Check out her diet:
