It didn't exactly set the world on fire last night. From pifeeback.com

The series-premiere of CBS’ The Ex List won the 9 p.m. hour, with 6.85 million viewers and a 2.0/ 6 among adults 18-49. But the retention out of lead-in Ghost Whisperer was disappointing at 74 percent in total viewers and 80 percent in the demo. Failed year-ago occupant Moonlight was stronger at 8.04 million viewers and a 2.2/ 7 among adults 18-49 on Oct. 5, 2007. And slippage in the second half hour was 720,000 viewers (7.21 to 6.49 million) and five percent in the demo (2.1/ 7 to 2.0/ 6). While The Ex List did dominate, it was a disappointment and proves just how troubled Friday night is.

It won the hour in viewers and demo but I don't think CBS will that happy since it will almost certainly drop next week. Then again everything apart from Ghost Whisperer did fairly disasterously, so they might stick with it a while.

I'm sorry for the people involved with the show, but I'm happy that it didn't do well for CBS. I know it won the hour, but I was a Moonlight fan that was totally p.o.'d when it was cancelled, so as far as I'm concerned, everything at that hour could fail and I couldn't be happier.

I still can't believe Ghost Whisperer made it past its initial 13 episode order. I'll wait to see how it does next week to start worrying about the show's fate. I know a lot of returning shows have seen a dip in the ratings, but does anyone if the new shows are meeting ratings expectations? I wonder what the networks will do if the general trend points to an across the board ratings slide?

And rightfully so. If you want to dump inane dribble on the audience the least a network should do is get someone that can carry a show.
That it ever got picked is amazing, but Reaser as a lead? This is the kind of show that needs someone people fall in love with to get a chance at surviving. No way Reaser has that quality. If she did she would still be on GA. She is a competent actress, with no appeal, and a dullness that makes you think the phone book is compelling reading. Given that she will have a long and gainful career doing supporting roles.
That said, part of me is sad for my friends that still watch GA. Right now they are having nightmares about the return of Ava.

Aw, suck...I didn't love last week's episode, but I'd been enjoying the show (love Reaser in the lead) and I'm sorry to hear about the cancellation. Thanks for the info, manic.
