Hi everyone. Wanted to let you know that I'm your official moderator here.

I'll post a general rules post soon, so watch for that, but in the meantime feel free to open threads you think we need. Please use the format of "Thread Topic: Humorous Blurb" rather than the other way around.

If you have questions about anything, you can ask here.

Could I offer a spelling correction for the General Gabbery subtitle? "Pacey's adventures in pseudo-science," not "psuedo-science." Thanks.

I can't edit those, but I'll pass that along. Thanks.

I am pleading that posters not use nicknames for characters in the episode threads.

I wanted to read about the Pilot but was confused and discouraged by the references first to "Pacey" and then to "Denethor".

Discussing other roles the actors have been in is great, but discussing what happened in the episode using just a nickname is just frustrating to anyone not clued in.

It just seems to me that I should be able to read about this episode without knowing about Dawson's Creek or Lord of the Rings.

Perhaps I'm the only one bugged by this, but for me, the forums where characters are discussed using either their name in the show or their name in real life are more intelligible and more enjoyable.

Should we make separate actor threads and character threads or confine them to one thread?

cycladic, that's sort of a trademark of the site. I'm sorry if it is confusing for you, but it shouldn't take you too long to figure it out. And Google should come in really handy, too, especially for something like Pacey.

StandingInRain, I prefer to keep them in the same thread. Feel free to talk about the actor in the character thread, but try to keep it somewhat pertinent to the show (public appearances, media write-ups, etc., are okay).

Would it be possible to start a Fringe in the Media thread (unless we have one and I just don't see it)? Media threads appear to be standard for all shows, but I don't want to start one because I'm not good with clever, witty names.

Anyone who sees fit can start one, with any clever title.

Just make sure it says

Media: Clever title

or

Fringe in the Media: Clever title

Or some such.

Would you mind if I added a thread on Darin Morgan? I was thinking maybe a thread title of Darin Morgan!!!!: Jose Chung's 'Flukeman with Fringe', or is that too many exclamation points?

Would it be preferable that I post about DM in another of the threads?

I don't think he warrants his own thread. Probably a Crew or writers/directors/producers thread would suffice.

I was wondering if it was worth having a topic for locations, as in false locations. Fringe supposedly takes place in the Boston area, the lab's at Harvard, even. Yet they film it in NY I think. They go out of their way to introduce specific towns around Boston, then have shots of stand-in towns--why bother? As a Boston local it's irritating fun to notice how crummy a job they do, the silliest example thus far being "South Station" which was about the size of the station at Petticoat Junction.

It's the geographical equivalent of having Australian actors play Americans, I guess. Seems like the real thing would be just as easy!

A locations thread would be fine. Feel free to start one.

Would it be okay to start a speculation without spoilers thread?

Of course. You don't have to ask for any usual threads. Just start one. If it's duplicate, I'll just merge; if it's unnecessary, I'll close or delete. But it's not a big deal just to start it. You can let me know here if you want to, but you don't have to.

Hi! Is there already a 'questions/answers for show newbies' thread? If there is, it wouldn't be the first time I've managed to miss a clearly labeled thread ;) If there isn't, though, I'm hoping someone else could start it, as I'm way too new to the show to be able to come up with a creative title.

There seems to be a problem with the threads, I tried to edit a post on the episode thread but it appears to be deleted along with other 4 posts I saw there and there are several phantom posts that appear and dissapear on the "Theories..." and "Astrid" threads.

Yeah, believe me: Moderating was a challenge today too. But I think it's fixed now. (In the future, if you see technical problems, the place to report those is the Tech Issues area.)

Is the new (currently locked thread) episode going to be 2-11? I thought it was something like 1-20.5...

Mars, we're starting a season 1 rewatch next week. Can you please pin our schedule in that thread?

Also, should we bump episode threads for discussion or keep in the Season 1 thread?

Thanks!

Please keep the discussion in the Season 1 thread. After some thought, I think that's best.

Mars: What are your thoughts on starting a "Fringe On Location" thread? Filming has been going on for a day and already the Internet is inundated with photos and video of filming, which I suspect will continue at a furious pace. So far these have been posted in the "Spoilers and Speculation" topic. Do you think links to set photos and video should have their own topic, or not?

I'll be taking a break — for some work and some play — for the next three weeks, so you'll see TWoP Howard around these parts. Please be as nice to them as you are to me (and then some). Thanks.
