Age: 24
Hometown: Dearborn, MI
Occupation: Catholic School Teacher
Marital Status: Single
Birthdate: 1 Sep 1983

Dan attended Michigan State University and earned a Master's Degree in Kinesiology. He is currently working as a teacher in an all boys Catholic school.

He is conservative and not a fan of liberals. He doesn't think that America would have been ready for a female president and if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency, he would have moved out of the country. He describes vegans as weird tree-huggers and believes that religion is important and that it helps to establish basic values. He thinks it becomes more important as you get older.

His ideal romantic partner will be caring, hot, have dark hair and skin and be exotic looking. He prefers someone who is not into parties. He likes to eat sushi, turkey cutlets, Mediterranean food and Cheez-Its. He enjoys alternative and rap music and also likes to listen to Frank Sinatra. His favorite movies include "The Godfather," "Good Will Hunting" and "The Karate Kid, Parts I and II". He likes the color black and thinks he wears it well. His favorite activities include running, coaching football, and going out with friends.

He once worked as a college football coach and claims he was the youngest person to do so. He also enjoys watching football. He thinks tattoos are trashy and that piercings are for freaks.

Dan will be okay with me as long as he doesn't throw his religious beliefs around.

He sounds like an ass. I have never correctly predicted a player's personality from their bio, but he seems truly gross.

I already have no use for him, but having him and Libra in the house together will certainly add fuel to the fire. I guess he could be good for some of those crazy antics B&B loves to conjur up.

Dan potentially could be a catalyst for a lot of friction in the house, which is good. Without the arguing, parties and outrageous drunken behavior, this show would become boring very quickly (well, much more quickly than usual) since most of the houseguests truly aren't very interesting people. I hope Dan starts causing trouble immediately but not in a way that will jeopardize his longevity in the house.

His views aside, he seems like he may be a good player -- something this show desperately needs. Just by watching his pre-show videos, his personality reminds me some of James BB6.

After reading BB8 Jen's take on the new houseguests, the guy sounds like a sleazeball. I'm putting 500 quatloos on him being the first HG this season to have an employer issue a press release declaring they've fired him.

Something tells me that someone who is willing to pick up and move out of country if someone is elected probably won't keep his views to himself in the house. Should make for some interesting discussions with Libra, or any Hillary supporters who may be in the house.

I swear, reading this bio, he was put in this house SOLELY to pick fights with people. I just wonder how long the fights will last before it gets old. (I'm putting the over/under at 10 days, BTW).

Personal views aside, it'll be interesting to see how he plays.

This dude is gorgeous! Still, he reminds me of a mix between BB8 Mike (plus) and BB8 Er-ick (a minus like no other). Too bad he seems a shade toolish.

I gotta give Dan credit for persuading Brian to do his dirty work with Jerry regarding the nominations. I wonder if Brian told him he has already saved his ass.

The liberals comment did me in. There is no way I can see myself liking him. He may play the game well, but I don't myself enjoying his antics.

Count me in with the rest of you who found him hot. Unfortunately it's going to be a love/hate relationship as all of his views seem to have a direct conflict with mine. I guess I can always hit mute when he's on....

I'd think a Catholic school teacher who says he can basically lie and cheat all he wants as long as he goes to confession afterwards SHOULD be fired. I hated it when Vecepia on Survivor pulled that crap and I hated it hear. Throw in the liberals crap and I'm not liking this guy at all.

My analysis: Seemingly good player, but seemingly bad (or at least shady) person.

If the nominations stay the same after the Veto Competition, he's probably going to last through the first week, but he needs to go soon.

I think it would be divine justice if Dan were to say or do something that contradicts with his beliefs or profession or whatever and then he's smote by lightning. I personally can't stand him even after this first episode and I hope he's out the house well before the jury begins to form.

Agreed. I was really surprised to hear him say that -- that's the sort of thing that the nuns and Jesuits would have knocked me sideways for saying when I was in Catholic school! He seems to be under the impression that he's got a dispensation to act like an ass on national television for three months in pursuit of a material goal. Yeah. That'll end well.

Yep, Sister Honoria wouldn't have been happy with that reading of the sacrament from me either.

I always like it when there's a modulated, well-informed, logical-sounding conservative voice in a house full of mostly young people on American TV. However, guess it won't happen this year! <rimshot>

I'm just waiting for him to stick his foot in his mouth and/or start praying for a win.

Let me save you the trouble right now, Dan--GOD IS IN THE TUB. Disturb Him at your own risk.

Oh gross. I am just now catching up, but that bio completely turns me off. He parrots the "values" line but (seemingly) has no idea of the deeper ramifications of his arguments, exemplified by his "I'll just go to Confession," "vegans are weird" attitude. Not a deep thinker, this one, but of course one with all kinds of obnoxious self-confidence.

Be gone, ass.

He looks like Ace from The Real World. I don't see myself liking him, but I do see him sticking around.

His comments are, yeah, tacky. But I'm kind of glad someone who's conservative has the guts to at least speak up about it. He doesn't have to be a douche about it, though.

I am rooting for him since he's a fellow Michigander. His bio is an interesting read...I don't know if I'll like him throughout BB10, but he's the one I'm rooting for now.

So I just read Jen's (from BB8) comments on her interview with him, and it sounds like he's totally going to be fighting for camera time in any way, shape or form!

As a long-time Milo fan, I personally don't think there's any comparison between the two. I find Milo to be smokingly hot, and I find Dan to be simply annoying. This guy seems like the tooliest of the bunch thus far, and I can't read his bio without laughing myself silly.

That said, given the caliber of the other Hamsters, I (unfortunately) fully expect him to make Final 6, if not better.

I'm guessing the paperwork has already been drawn up. That's not the way confession works -- there's no absolution if you intend to go do more of the same, and to go into something purposefully with the intent of confessing afterwards... there are no words. Even as a lay teacher, that's not going to fly.

They'll probably wait until he makes out with somebody or makes some hateful comment before issuing the press release, but I'd bet money that job is already gone. Another possibility is that he knew it was gone when he took the gig, so he's just playing up the Catholic thing because that's what the casting people want, and has no job to go back to.

He…believes that religion is important and that it helps to establish basic values. He thinks it becomes more important as you get older.

So he's still young enough to be a tool, huh? Good to know.

He seems to be under the impression that he's got a dispensation to act like an ass on national television for three months in pursuit of a material goal.

Snerk. I can just see the Pope getting *that* paperwork.

I really dislike how he's always tilting his head to one side. Is the right side of your face that horrible?

No, he's just signaling that his politics "lean to the right", and he doesn't understand that that's supposed to be metaphorical.

From "Jen's Take" (linked upthread):

Although he is listed as "single," he has a girlfriend of one-and-a-half years. They're "pretty serious," but he said that he'll have problems staying faithful if there are girls like me in the house. Oh, brother! He described his helpful qualities and made sure to include "attractive" and "amazing," which he was neither.

He thinks that "Big Brother" generally casts "stupid" people, so that his winning with his intellectual advantage will be like a walk in the park for him. He answered most questions with a reference to a quote or with "you'll have to tune in to see!" Who does that?!? He plans on having a large presence and will not be flying under the radar, mainly because he thinks that is bad TV. He is my LEAST favorite houseguest.

You and me both, Jen. You and me both. Sigh.

Yes, indeed. It was very entertaining to see him realize that he was out of the loop.

He doesn't think that America would have been ready for a female president and if Hillary Clinton had won the presidency, he would have moved out of the country.

Hmmm. Think we could persuade Hillary to get back into the race?
