I just love him. What can I say? Sadly under-utilized in this show.

Here's a photo of him, wife, and kids at the Wall-E premiere.

Chris, will you accept this rose? For:

1. Your ability to walk out of the hallway to say, "Ladies, this is the final rose of the evening" with a straight face.

Chris, will you accept this rose for:
Containing your contempt for Jesse (and your composure) at the name forgetting debacle RC?

And you are even more adorable after seeing your adorable family.

Thank you Reality-OD for starting this thread. All Chris all the time.

Love him. It utterly amazes me that Fleiss doesn't exploit the fact that he has a razor sharp wit and a really likable personality. It would really liven the show up. It needs it.

Great picture of CH with his family. Super cute kids and super pretty wife.

I agree that it's a crime they don't allow him to be more himself on the regular episodes of the Bachelor/ette. He's hilarious on the ATFR/MTA/WTA shows and in the outtakes. I don't know what they're thinking keeping him so formal during the rest of the series.

His family is beautiful--his son is a little mini-Chris. Is it me, or does his wife look like she could be Julie Marie Berman (Lulu on General Hospital)'s older sister?

Come on folks! Let's give Chris mucho roses! I think this is more in line with what Reality-OD had in mind:

Chris, will you accept this rose for:
Calling Graham out out by telling him, "Dude, if a woman wants you to kiss her, that is NOT the time to make a point."

What do you find endearing about Sean? Besides the mullet, of course. What's not to like -- business in the front, party in the back? Tell the truth, is Sean just a haircut away from winning your love? (paraphrased)

Chris, will you accept this rose and come watch The Bachelor with me every week? I would pay per view to have running commentary from Chris overdubbed on the show!

Chris, will you accept this rose For season in and season out, seeming to be the only person who seems to be able to simulataneously hope for a true love ending but not forget that this is a tv show?

For having such a great sense of humor about such ridiculous situations?

MCubed, if I split the cost, can I join you and Chris when you watch the show?

Chris, will you accept this rose for:
Saying during the DeAnna MTA ep, "Only guys would hi-five themselves after calling them a d-bag."

ITA that he was fabulously funny on the MTA. (perhaps more so because he was razzing other guys -- he might not be as comfortable doing the same with a group of women during a Bachelor season) It must be great fun for him to shed that serious persona he's apparently required to maintain during the regular episodes. I agree that Fleiss ought to let him loosen up a little during the season. CH has done this long enough to know when some humor would fit.

That picture caption is wrong--he's not 44. I went to high school with him, and he was a year ahead of me so he is probably 37.

As a faithful watcher from Season 2, I have given CH all of my roses every season. Mostly because he keeps a straight face when announcing the final rose, and also because of the fantastic outtakes we get at the end of every dull season.

But I have to wonder how he keeps such a happy face, year after year, through the Jesse Palmer season and the Lorenzo debacle... this guy deserves a raise for making us think the relationship is for real. Every time.

I heart Chris. I used to TiVo his home design show just to watch him.

I cannot wait for him to write a tell-all book on The Bachelor/ette one day.

He knows when to shut up, too. When DeAnna and Jason were having their heart-to-heart on the ATFR last night, he did not say a word or interject anything until the discussion started winding down, even though I think I saw DeAnna give him a "Say something, Chris" look once.

his home design show

Designer's Challenge! I love that show, although I almost never pick the same designer that the homeowners do.

I'm not a visitor of the ABC website, so I don't know the answer to this. Does CH have a blog for each episode of TB/ette? If he doesn't already, he should. Each Bravo show has at least 5 different bloggers giving 5 different opinions. I would really enjoy an episode by episode breakdown and his perspective of all of this foolishness.

However, I'm sure Fleiss would never allow it.

To follow Reality-OD's template:

Chris, will you accept this rose for your behind the scenes, Chris Harrison Tells All (CHTA) blog?

Chris has a blog this season!

I like that he'll talk about stuff edited out, like this:

Sharon used every letter in the alphabet to describe something good about Jason (hard to believe we didn't leave that in, huh?).

I like hearing both his judgments and some inside/production info:

I moved the girls into the house to start the episode. This, of course, is the same house where we just held the rose ceremony. Little-known fact: This is not the morning after the first rose ceremony. It's actually the day after. Because that first ceremony goes all night, we take a day off and give everybody a chance to rest and re-group. This is why the girls looked so nice and put together when I set them up for the first round of dates. The first season of The Bachelor, we didn't have an off day built in to the schedule, and it was brutal. The first ever rose ceremony wrapped up about 6 A.M. I showed up to move the girls in around 8:30. Needless to say, none of us slept that night. The 15 girls this season have to share 3 bedrooms and most use the big master bath. Aside from the dates, the girls do not leave the premises.

I like how he doesn't hide how tortuous the first night is. We see Jackie and others stumbling-mumbling drunk, but the show doesn't reveal that they're being kept up to the wee hours and probably have nothing to eat except Jillian's leftover hot dogs. That first-season opening day sounds sadistic.

I love how self-deprecating Chris is and how willing he is to make fun of his own show.

From his latest blog:

Until next week, keep your comments coming, and I hope all of you have the most dramatic week of your life!

I like that he admitted that he'd like to play a bigger role on the show, but he and Fleiss agreed that he needs to stay in the background to the bachelor.

This guy is made of awesome. He's made it obvious that he doesn't take the show too seriously, but still tries to keep it as legitimate a "process" as it could possibly be. And he does this in a very tactful way without biting the hand that feeds him. Genius.

I'm getting a kick out of his blog and it makes me like him more. I never gave him a second thought up until this season, but now I think he's funny and self-aware and it's nice to get a sense of how he's acting the part on the show vs. who he really is.

This comment was enlightening:

Megan was the bartender of the house. Every day she would whip up this concoction she called sangria, but it was really a mixture of every kind of booze she could find.

Boy, she just gets classier and classier. I thought dumping every kind of booze in a bucket was a stupid college-party thing to do. Apparently it's also something done by mature women of considerable depth. I think we all know what kind of notable "depth" Megan possesses and let me just say I don't think it's located in her brain.

In a previous entry, Chris said something about tearing down the living room set to put up the rose ceremony set. I'm a little confused by this. Is the "interior of the house" just a couple of sets? I was under the impression--as the producers wanted me to be--that it's an actual house with actual rooms inside that had been decorated for the show, but now I'm wondering what the deal is. I love hearing behind-the-scenes stuff about production.

Wow, his wife is only 25? How old is he?

And I know it's probably not her, but her name is Gwen, which made me think of Gwen from Aaron's season. Have they done an update on her? I loved her!

I think he was kidding because he said you're welcome to her right after. I think she would be saying "thank you" for calling her 25 instead of her real age?

Wow, his wife is only 25? How old is he?

That must be an inside joke. He's 37 and I found this 2006 article with a quick google:

Harrison fit the wholesome middle-American profile the producers wanted: He married his college sweetheart, Gwen, at the tender age of 22, and, after Chris’s career as an Oklahoma sportscaster, which he parlayed into a job hosting a horse-racing network in LA, the couple started a family. (...) Chris and Gwen have been married for more than 12 years.

She's probably his age or very close to it.

I'll bet he and his wife share some fun snarky conversations about his job.

I think it is definitely a real house - we get to see overhead shots and everything. I think they just have to move and rearrange furniture to make things look different for the Rose Ceremony. Because Rose Ceremonies are Very Dramatic and need special furniture arrangements. Like how they put up little one-on-one alcoves and stuff for people to chat at the party.

Speaking of the house, when Chris noted how impressed he is with the set people, I am also impressed by the pretty headboards on the bachelorettes' beds this season. You know, the ones with the silhouettes? Pretty.
