As mentioned, I like Kim Vo a lot. He brings a lot of personality to his work and he's a great hairdresser.

He'll be a welcome addition to the show this season.

I wonder if he's responsible for his own coloring? I'm not a huge fan of whatever he's done to his face, but I'm impressed that he's gotten what must be naturally black hair to be the blonde without looking completely fried. I have seen him do a few small things -- like doing a quick, light bleach to dark roots to make growing out less noticeable -- that make it seem like he does know what he's talking about.

Just back away from the Botox, Kim!

Does anyone else remember him from Extreme Makeover? (The original plastic surgery show, not the home edition). His face looked more normal back then. He was the hairstylist for the show, but he must have picked up a few business cards from the surgeons after filming.

I don't think Kim's actually gone under the knife - just a little injection here and there; which I suppose is bad enough.

Anyway, I loved his line in the preview they showed last night - "It's like taking a laxative and a sleeping pill at the same time! It doesn't make sense!"

I like his sass, but Sally was the best. I'm glad they got rid of the guy from whatever Elle magazine he was from last year. He was annoying and a downer of a presence.

Still, Sally should have been back. We should have had Sally AND Kim.

Kim Vo is one scary looking dude. However, I really liked his interaction with the contestants. He really surprised me.

Someone on a makeup site I frequent went and had her hair done by him in Vegas. She also took a picture with him and he wasn't nearly as scary looking as he appears on tv. Certainly less plastic looking.

His mouth and chin are scary. Looks like he did a Michael Jackson chin. Hope the lips can wear off, they look awful.

There's a video clip of him appearing on one of the tab TV shows talking about doing Britney's hair back in February and he sounded so ridiculous. I wonder if he stopped working with her. Whoever is doing it now seems to be doing a better job than anyone else has before.

I like him, and it seems he is actually fairly critiquing their work, but I agree that his face is SCARY! I had no idea he used to be such a little cutie. Why mess with it?!

Botox aside, I still really like Kim. He appears to be very insightful, and he's an enormous improvement over Sally and that uptight dude from Allure.

He seems pretty pleased saying "blonde-orexic" but does that actually work? I think he's working with "tanorexic," but that is someone who is both incredibly thin *and* incredibly tan. Unless he's saying those Housewives were also too skinny.

But otherwise, he's growing on me a little. He seems so genuinely excited to be on TV, I can't help but have some affection for him (especially knowing that he's done various entertainment shows off and on for quite a while and still seems to feel like being on SG is an honor, instead of something he had coming to him).

I definitely find him much more tolerable than watching Sally's haughty entitled sour face every time someone proved to actually be versatile and able to do more than one limited cut. Her arrogance just seemed to have no real basis.

And if face-work was a criteria for preference, I'm not sure who wins. Sally's frozen tugged back face or whatever it is that is going on with Vo's?

I do wish Vo would calm down a little. I really have a hard time with his over the top pleased look in response to everything. It's a creepy mix of gleeful thrill and cloying obsequousness. Like watching a game show host pretending he isn't losing control of his bowels on camera. At some point the claws will need to come out. Just a little. As it is, all he does is purr maniacly while he licks himself.

How was Sally entitled? I found her more insightful than Kim, for sure. And definitely a lot nicer. Not that Kim isn't nice, too. He is. I just found Sally more enjoyable to watch, although I do like Kim, too.

He's kinda growing on me. I like that he gets off his chair and gets his hands on the models' heads during judging. I don't remember if any of the judges last year did that.

I like him as a judge, he's usually accurate in his critiques and he's funny, too.

But, boy, those pictures of him before and after whatever had had done.....I realize he's probably somewhat older in the second picture, but still, he was an engagingly attractive man BEFORE the treatments/surgery. I am assuming he is half caucasion and half Vietnamese? Well, it was a wonderful combination on him and I wish he'd left it alone. That's just sad. Did he look in the mirror and think the Vietnamese parts of his features were ugly?

Not only do I like his looks much better in the older picture, but I think he'd have looked even more striking if he'd left his raven-colored hair alone, too.

This link is pretty old - but figured I'd go ahead and post. Interesting, I was catching up on Chelsea Lately and low and behold..she finally revealed the hairstylist who melted/burned her hair...and it was no other then our Kim Vo. A little backstory, I've noticed her hair has been looking peaked the past several months. A few months ago she coped to wearing extensions b/c of a bad stylist. She spilled the beans on the 3/18 show and it was Kim Vo.
