TV Guide sez:

Sarah contacts Terissa Dyson in an effort to track down Skynet's creators. The search leads her to a computer programmer named Andy Goode (Brendan Hines). Meanwhile, John and Cameron try to fit in at a new school.

Letting the jumper die was pretty ballsy. AND it led to John showing off "if I'm a great leader, why couldn't I do anything?" Small steps towards becoming the savior of mankind...

I like the whole "regrowing" skin concept for the other Terminator. It keeps the show firmly grounded in the Mythos while avoiding the "Terminator of the Week" problem I was afraid would plague the show. Plus, a human foil on the "evil" side is a bonus, especially if the skin scientist turns out to be part of the "scientist chain" leading to the Terminators and Skynet...if not, he'll be dead soon...

Also, like how Sarah burned the house down instead of offing the guy. Shows her compassion from "T2" when she didn't pull the final trigger on Myles Dyson.

Holy stuff of nightmares, Batman. Good episode, and John was definitely MUCH better this week than he has been in the first two episodes. I was impressed by him in this one, and while I know Sarah's actions won't be popular this week, I like seeing her consciously make decisions that will not lump her in with those they're battling against.

That was great, loved the last eye opening scene. Cameron has a metal plate, hee!

The age-old time travel ethics question: If you could travel back to 1932, would you kill Hitler? Of course, it's further complicated in this case, because Andy inadvertantly causes the end of the world. Sarah handled it creatively, but did she just delay the inevitable?
John was much better this ep, less whiny.

So I guess Cameron wasn't acting human like we saw she could in the pilot because the mission no longer required it. Still would have been nice to have the discrepancy acknowledged beyond "Fooled you."

Anyways, pretty solid episode once again.

Also, like how Sarah burned the house down instead of offing the guy.

I was thinking along those lines too, like she doesn't have to kill the guy to stop him, just destroy his machine! Alternatives!

You know, I'm really starting to like what's her name, the female Terminator. I didn't like her much when it started out. She's pretty funny(when she's not a stone cold killer) "It's tight" and "I'm a bitch whore" had me cracking up.

Also, it occurred to me that this episode debunked what people have been discussing elsewhere-- apparently, as a time traveler, there's nothing preventing you from being in two places at once, a la the four-year-old and the resistance fighter, which makes things more interesting. I didn't think there was any reason why not, though it IS a little creepy.

I assume its over a sex related thing.

Finally! We got a smart and courageous John in this episode! I can understand why Cameron stopped him, but John did have a point about how he's supposed to be this great hero but not being allowed to help just because it'll draw attention to him.

I also loved that the FBI agent is slowly becoming a believer. I wonder how long it will take before he becomes an ally of the Connors.

I'm not quite sure if it was smart of Sarah to only destroy the Turk and not kill it's creator too. What is to stop him from eventually rebuilding it?

Maybe someone else will be more knowledgeable, but I'm pretty sure that Lena Headey's pronunciation of "Bhagavad Gita" was wrong. That irked me because it's such an easy fix.

Nice episode. John is slowly becoming a character who will eventually be a hero. And Sarah is thinking outside the box to try and change history without having to kill a perfectly nice guy.

I have to say I think they cast John's lab partner to make it look like Summer Glau could be a high school student, because she looked about 30 to me.

All in all, a pretty exciting episode, I wish we didn't have to wait 2 weeks to see the next one.

Ok, the dream she had was cool, with the scientists. Well, not the killing part. So did they blow the budget with all those terminators?

I thought Sarah was planning an infiltration or an attack when she was telling John "there are 6 exits, 2 guards in the morning..." though I should have seen it a mile away that it was school.

So Andy works at a cell phone store. I thought I was confused, that Andy woudl be working at Cyberdine, but I guess you don't have to work there to make a smart computer.

So it seems the ep. is mostly about Sarah's concience; would she kill or not. But at least burning down the house is sort of the answer.

I thougth the first day went well. Though that was some second day. I wonder if the girl comitting suicide will affect them latter on (like the person who painted all those things will still be around) or was it a one-shot deal.

John wants to save the girl. Is it a messiah complex? I think more that he's a compassionate human being. Though I did think it was funny that he kept on repeating "what?" Way to communicate.

And I pretty much figured the scientist helping the terminator was going to be killed. I was yelling at the screen "run you moron, while he's in the bath!"

And this is the third ep. where the sound was so echo-y, like when the jumper gets out of the bathroom and John upset about the jumper when he talks to his mom.

Excellent episode tonight. This epsiode laid the groundwork for what would have been the entire season, if not the entire series. From Sarah's hunting of Skynet's origins to John's efforts to learn, survive and lead and to the Terminator's desire to fit in so he can continue his mission, all sorts of plot foundation was put in place tonight.

Why did the girl commit suicide? Was she sleeping with the teachers?

So why did the blonde high school girl kill herself? I still don't get that.

I'm assuming she slept with someone, and I'm almost tempted to say that someone is a teacher, based on the door paintings, etc. The bra on the door implies sex, and the girl's extreme reaction implies an inappropriate partner.

Agree; John was much better this week. The school subplot is still making me wonder what giant pratfalls will ensue though...

I wonder there also; perhaps destroying Turk will make Andy more inclined to build a better, shinier version. (Unfortunately Al and Ziggy aren't there to tell Sam that he just made things worse.)

I'm still trying to get used to the serial nature of the show; I suppose we might still see some resolution to Andy next week.

Yes, help! I saw the painted door seemed to show the silhouette of two people kissing, which she apparently thought revealed something she'd done. ("How do they know?" etc.) But why someone decided to paint a door, how she instantly knew it would end up being about her, what the door said... I have no idea.

I'm not clear why Cameron can no longer act normal. I was thinking maybe she only really knew how to interact with John. Or maybe she was only programmed with a few "natural" meet cute type scenarios.

Well if worse comes to worse, she can always kill him later.

On the door, it had OAK in the middle and what looked like a yellow bra or bikini top hanging from the doorknob. I am completely clueless as to what it means.

Does this mean we know now how the living tissue for the infiltrators was created?

Loved the "new skin" scenes. I like the Humans For Skynet idea. In fact, I like the "knowing scientist" themes in this episode, from the A-bomb team, to Cell Phone Andy and Turk, to the doctor helping Cromarty. I think it would be really cool to have modern scientists aiding the Terminators, knowing fuill well the possible consequences.

Also, I liked John and his "I'm supposed to be a leader" moment. I think they need to play up johns T2 attitude abotu killing people. It could be a major issue of contention between him and Summinator. Much more intersting than a series full of "SHe's hot but she's my robot sister" angst.

Also; Did't Sara allready have a crisis abotu killing responsible scientists back in T2? She didn't kill Miles Dyson; she blew up his building. Same result this time, only she had to go on two dates with Cell Phone Andy before she decided just to burn his house down.

Nitpick: I dont' think Croparty would have left THAT much of his biology homework on the wall. He would have covered the whole thing. Aweosme scenes though.

Also......What WAS the deal with the crying girl? And the wall painting? Was I in the bathroom when they explained all that?

Yep, that was him on the floor. And persumably it was the Terminator that blotted out the formula he wrote on the wall.

You know who else played Chess, Andy?

That's right, Hitler!

That's a pretty good episode, and plenty of holy shit! moments from the cheerleader suicide to the "they took his freakin' eyes" to the Terminator getting out to the tub. And John actually acted like he had a spine, good times, good times.

Now that was a better John Connor.

The whole fleshy-terminator thing is going to give me nightmares. I seriously feel nauseated after watching that.

The "My sister has a metal plate" scene cracked me up, especially when Cameron added that she fell. Hard.

What the heck was going on with the jumper? Why did she jump? I didn't get it, which makes me wonder if I'm part of Cameron's metal plate club...

I like how John compared them to the terminators, and I liked that Sarah didn't kill Andy.

did she just delay the inevitable?

Yeah, I don't think he's going to give up that easy.

Me too; I hated last week that they made Enrique a rat because it seemed like needless trashing of a character I liked from the movies. But this week we saw how that development led to the FBI agent (still don't have his name) becoming more involved. My confidence in the writers as big fans of the films is back.

Strange episode tonight. John seems to lose the last characteristic of his T2 character when he does even bat an eyelash at Sarah's plans to kill Andy and actually encourages it. Then he regains his old form when he tries to save Suicide Girl. Then he whines to his mother about it.

Glad to see Sarah didn't kill Andy though. Burning down his house was perfectly in character. The debate here is good though. People like Andy aren't trying to destroy the world. They are trying to create something to help it. Except that it will eventually spell the doom for humanity. So, how do you deal with it? Killing those involved doesn't necessarily kill the idea behind Skynet. Human innovation as well as greed will attempt to construct it. It's an uphill battle.

Liked the entire storyline with the Evil Terminator and the scientist. We get to see the process of making a humanoid Terminator and it's interesting to see him having to rely on a human for help. Liked the opening scene a lot with Sarah and the scientists and it's cool to see Teresa Dyson being used as a character here.

Not too horrible, but this is definitely less science fiction than I would have hoped. Sarah just always seems to be "there". Her acting isn't really doing much in the way of making me feel her performance.

I wish she would have just burned the guy's house down from jump. All the "omg, robot in awkward social situations!" stuff is really lame and I could use less of it.

But definitely the jumper was a shock. I certainly wasn't expecting that. And then the blood smeared rooms and flesh cutting - I hope that puts to rest any notion that they couldn't have showed chrome-artie's head flying through the time warp.

I'll probably watch next week, but I feel cheated because they edited a lot of things together to make scenes look like they happened one way, when they didn't happen that way, or didn't happen at all.

The "tight" thing you could see coming a mile away. I did like "bitchwhore much?" But the Caminator is more annoying than cool or interesting. The whole bit about reading the dictionary was lame. But I did enjoy the discussions of the singularity and the turk.

Oh, and again, Dyson's widow - the way her character is written just annoys the crap out of me. She should totally be a believer. The gratuitous bikini shot - come on, really? I mean I guess we got that in Alien, but at least there was a purpose. That's the problem with this show, so many things happen with just no purpose. But then again, I guess for those who think Summer looks good, there was a distinct purpose, heh.
