Apperently she suffered through genital mutilation and had her two sisters murdered. That is so edgy!

Slightly bothered by her nose, but I like her. Looks alot like Yasmine Warsame

Wow, Tyrant and Mok must have wet themselves when they heard that.

I immediately thought Iman when I saw her. She's stunning.... ergo, won't win.

She's stunning, and I definitely see the Yasmine Warsame resemblance. I really hope Tyra won't force her to give us an elaborate description of clitoridectomy or her sisters' murder. That's a tragic story, but I always feel sort of uncomfortable when Tyra starts in on her armchair psychologist/misery mongerer routine with these girls.

Looks wise she is my hands down favorite! She actually looks like a real model. I predict a sixth place finish for her tops. Her story makes me somewhat nervous. I dont think I can handle exploitation of those issues.

I see some Grace Jones in her. She's on of my favorites but I don't like her hair right now although I'm scared of what Tyra is going to do with it. Also, yes, you know Tyra and Mok were wetting themselves in anticipation of what they could do with her tragedy.

Man she went through alot. I really hope Tyra does'nt push and nudge her to reveal all these dark memories on TV, but alas she will. :(

Still she's a beautiful girl and she'll do great hopefully.

I love her hair. So you know Tyra's going to do something awful to it.

I think she could totally rock a bald head. Usually I think that the head shaving on each "cycle" is a terrible decision but I would love to see it happen to Fatima.

Yeah, I was thinking that's probably going to be what Tyra does to her. But then there's also Marvita and she could shave her head as well since they both have strong faces. I really don't want her to shave this girl's head. I don't care for the color but she doesn't need something drastic.

She's one of my pre-show favourites. Her personal story is so tragic. So you know Ty Ty will exploit the hell out of it. Urgh.

Wow, a real live fashion model on this show, meaning she'll go overseas, but get dropped quickly......and I'm going to hate seeing Tyra exploits her on national TV. I'd rather she tells us on her own will her situation rather than having Tyra or the producers exploit it, how sickening.

As awful as this is going to sound, I can totally see Tyra asking her about the genital mutilation.

"So, Fatima, what, in explicit detail, did they do to your genitals? Does that make you feel inadequate?"

And in no way was that me trying to be funny. I am serious. We all know Tyra.

Oh gods, I know! After she does that, she'll probably get on her soap box and go all pseudo-activist about clitoridectomy, possibly even quoting exerpts from The Vagina Monologues. Because we all know that every time there's a tragic tale, Tyra has to make it about her.

Absolutely right. Tyra will find a way to make it about her and then say something like... "but I modeled through it."

Ugh, I know. I'm cringing already.

I hope she'll have the decency to leave out the obligatory photo montage of herself, should she do this. Then again, making somebody's personal tragedy about herself pretty much throws all decency out the window. I sincerely hope she doesn't go there.

Or there will be a very special Tyra episode where she have a feature about FGM and she'll speak in that soft voice of hers and try to look sincere. Sort of like when they went to Thailand. I'm dreading it already. It's not enough that she'll probably give the girl a heinous makeover but she's going to be looking for audience gold in this one and try to have everyone crying who's watching the show. Then she'll open up her arms and give Fatima a big hug and tell her to stay strong and how she's done so well and now she's on ANTM and ugh!!!

Fatima looks like what I always imagined Zob would look like.

I don't want to see Tyra tackle FGM either. It's truly too serious of a subject for this show.

Fatima so far is the only girl that made me go "Wow!" when I saw her picture. She is absolutely beautiful. I hope they don't mess with her hair.

However, I felt sick to my stomach thinking about Tyra exploiting Fatima's experiences. Not because I think Fatima should keep it a secret (if she wants to be active about raising her voice to tell her story then more power to her) but I cannot think of a more inappropriate venue than Top Model. Unfortunately, Tyra has no shame or morals it seems, so I plan to switch the channel when the inevitable "And can you tell us about that...?" happens.

I think Fatima has the saddest story of any contestant on ANTM. Which means it's going to be totally exploited, and she could eliminated for not being "strong enough," a la Wendy C6.

But I think she's amazingly beautiful, and I hope she does well.

She's beautiful and modelesque.

Therefore Tyra is going to give her a bright red weave a la Brittany C8 and kick her off in the third episode for not being able to rock it.

ANTM: Bringing out pessimism since 2003.

Further on the "angle" we wonder if Tyrant will play---- Iman's cousin Waris Dirie, also a successful real top model, is one of The Major advocates against FGM, working as a UN ambassador etc....

One of the most stunning hamsters on that panel. So beautiful, I too am hoping Tyra doesn't exploit her but, alas, it's inevitable. I will probably cry if they make her tell her story, it's a lot more powerful then 'My momma was a crack addict and I had a baby at 16....." Which seems to be the main sob story each cycle. Tyra is definitely urinating in her pants with glee at the moment.

Honestly? Any Way the message can get out about the absolute evil of FGM is sounding better and better to me. I learned about this unspeakable crime probably 25 years ago. And so far? The rest of the world has done NOTHING about it AT ALL.... not even Oprah for whom it would make a fine fine crusade with her billions.

And yes, I am a cultural imperialist, thankyouverymuch.

The thing I worry most about Fatima is that she'll won't talk about her past (which is understandable cuz no woman should go through that) and will end up telling everybody at panel about it when Tyra makes her speak about it. When she admits that, Tyra will be all empathetic for a little while, then tell her she's cut because she(Tyra) feels that her (Fatima's) drive to be in the competition is low because she can't "get over" her past. *sigh*

Though Fatima is a very natural beauty so hopefully she'll rock the pictures, but the expliotation will still be there. :(

I like Fatima. But I don't want to see her total exploitation by Tyra. Which we all know will happen. Sometimes I think TyTy sits at home with a bucket of ribs in her lap, watching the girls' tapes and getting all glowy-eyed and tingly over their tales of woe, while simultaneously smearing BBQ sauce all over her face.

TyTy scares holy hell out of me.

The more I think about this, the more I'm starting to think that maybe her past won't be brought up at all. Tyra only brings up things that she can turn back around on herself in the form of a sentence starting with: "My Momma.....". I don't really see how Tyra could take this very delicate and sad subject and make it all about her. I'm starting to think that Fatima's backstory may not be exploited. Unfortunately, I think that may hurt her chances of sticking around for a while too.

She is totally gorgeous. Hopefully when she's eliminated it isn't for a *complete* bullshit reason. If she sucks at pictures that's one thing but if it's about her fear to blah blah blah then I will hurt someone.

Boston represent! This is total redemption from Mila, who I personally didn't hate but she wasn't very good .
