Please use this thread for spoilers and speculation about the spoilers ONLY. Discussion about the movie that does not involve spoilers should be in the Fight The Future II: Happening thread. Spoilers in this thread (and this thread only) do not need to be tagged.

Thanks.

Here is a quick FAQ refresher on what is and is not considered a spoiler.

Well. Let us hope this is an utterly bogus spoiler reported by a self-described jackass.

I think that dude doesn't know what he's talking about. In a 2006 interview, Frank Spotnitz told EW that the movie would be set after season 9:

Have you guys mapped out the plot yet?
Yeah, we went in and pitched the story a year and a half ago. We've worked out most of it. We haven't written a script yet, but we're ready to go if and when.

But no conspiracy stuff, right?
Yeah, I think that was one of the big appeals of doing a movie — to not be constrained by the mythology. Nine years was a long time to stretch out the mythology of the series, and the first movie had to deal with it because it was sandwiched between two seasons of the TV show. It will catch up to the characters where they are now. We'll address whatever period of time has elapsed between the end of the series and the current moment.

Does that include disclosing the whereabouts of Mulder and Scully's baby?
Well, the way it was left at the very end was that they had just given up the child and they were fugitives from the FBI, so we'll have to address where they're living and whether they're still in a fugitive state.

Of course, I guess we never know what will happen, but I like the idea of a present-day MOTW that makes little reference to the mytharc.

Spoiler from The Haven...

According to an interview that GA did in an Italian magazine, "the MOTW case happens somewhere near or around where Mulder and Scully are at the time of the case, therefore prompting them to investigate..."

I know this is a teeny tiny thing, but it says to me that at least they'll be together when this happens, which means it's less likely that they'll be split up at the start of the film. To which I say, YIPPEE!

For those who have access to Haven, the thread that discusses this is here: http://community.ide...ead.php?t=19268

Suddenly I find I'm looking forward to the movie again, instead of worrying that my worldview of Mulder & Scully is going to be permanently scarred.

Personally, I think this is a red herring. But nevertheless, it could be a spoiler:Millennium's Frank Black in XF2?

Spoiler from xfilesultimate: Someone has, apparantly, discovered and youtube'd an actors official audition tape, reading for the part of "Brian Finch" in XF2. No idea if it is genuine, he appears to be a real actor though, based on some of the comments made and his imdb page.

So much for my spoiler-resistance. I kept telling myself I'd stay away from the stuff, and as soon as the lil envelope is yellow, I click it like a good little pawlowian dog.

To the clip: "My agent really wanted me to audition for this."?!?

Way to show your enthusiasm, dude!
See, if it had been me, the introduction of the tape would have been more along the lines of: "Chris! Mr. Carter! Sir! I'd give my left arm to be on this! (so feel free to pull a Kryczek on me!). I can make great coffee! If you want me to, I'll name my firstborn 11 21! I'll grow a mullet! Please, by all that is good and true, let me do that part! Speaking of doing things *wink wink*!"

yeah... something like that

The youtube audition is a scene from the Denzel Washington movie 'John Q'.

Yeah, I had thought that 1013 wouldn't use the real deal for auditions. Well, if we see this guy in the movie we can all say that we saw him first!

I'm the same on the spoiler front, I said that I'd be spoiler free but I find myself looking for the stuff! I guess I also just want a heads up if CC has anything unpleasant and unwanted in store for us.

Thanks for the info, pilotchasea! I, like others, am treating this thread like a bad relationship and saying, "Ok...just this one last time" when I see it's been updated...but I think I'll stop soon. Really. I swear.

Same here. But I figure it's early enough that nothing of any significance will be spoiled. All I want are set pictures, really. And just a few to see what they look like. Then i'll stop. I swear.

Thirded, all the way.

Another spoiler:

Check out this article. The producers of a movie named "Done One" have requested permission from the village of Pemberton, Canada to film there from the 4th to the 5th of February. All those planning their Vancouver pilgrimages, this is the place to head for a "big scene".

Moviehole has gotten ahold of some sides from our beloved Done One. At first they reported it as scenes from XFII with no Mulder and Scully; then some helpful philes let the moviehole ppl know that they're obviously just auditioning using scenes from the series, with all names changed. Can we figure out which episodes they're from? The 2nd scene especially doesn't ring a bell with me.

I'm sure this has been discussed to death at haven, but I haven't checked that out.

It starts off like Essence. And if Plummer and Darby are Mulder and Scully, why are they both men? Weird. The way Plummer and Darby read it's the scene with Mulder(Plummer) and Doggett(Darby) snooping around Dr. Parenti's office.

Just an FYI, that casting information was released wide (I saw it on E! News), so you can post without tagging in the movie thread, discuss the casting choices there, etc.
