You're right, that's what I get for trying to multi-task.I can't wait to watch these two interact. (It's Cristina, no "H," though. [/spelling nazi])
I know, right? How bad is it that our faith in the writers has been shaken so very badly that we have to cover our eyes and peep through our fingers every week hoping for something good?Great idea. This roomie situation should bring some great stories. I repeat, it SHOULD

Back on topic, Cristina and Callie had really good scenes on S3, the bridesmaids episode really show that Cristina considered Callie close to her.
Cristina: Hey, that last dress was ok, wasn't it? I mean, it was too tight and I couldn't breathe, but...a wedding's just one day, right?
Callie: Yeah.
Cristina: Yeah.

Callie and Cristina, though... it's interesting, but it makes sense. Callie has more in common with Cristina than any of the other members of the gang, and given the recent drama in their personal lives, there's a kind of kindred spirit between them. Plus, the two actresses play off of one another nicely.

I couldn't agree more. I think the glue that will stick these two together is the fact that they're both mostly above all of the teenage antics of the other members of the brat pack and the fact that they are now in the "ex" club. Both Callie and Cristina are career driven women who allowed themselves to be "side-tracked" by men that they fell for, and now feel like they're paying the price for it. (i.e. the OR gigglefest "I'm going to be a divorcee" "I was left at the alter"). I think they'll both need to lean on each other quite a bit, since all the others are in the realm of couples at the moment and they are both still working at swallowing the bile of bitterness.Callie and Cristina, though... it's interesting, but it makes sense. I think so too. As you said, I think Cristina has outgrown living with the others and Callie would feel lonlier than ever if she had to live on her own again.I think they'll help each other grow and I seriously think it will last a while- them living together.

I heart Mere/Cris, but Mere has other people she is close to. I never saw Mere and Cristina as a closed circle, just two people who got each other and had a special empathy; so I think it's nice for Cris to develop friendly links with other people, too. Burke's departure isolated Cristina and after Addison went to LA Callie was stuck with the Toxic Ones.
This friendship is one of the first real improvements I can get from TPTB about the general quality of the show (characters I love kicking ass here and there were too superficial). I hope Mere/Cristina and Cristina/Callie can create a new axis, a new group that would little by little include Alex and Lexie.
Now, I would LOVE for Callie to be the friend who helps Cristina with Hahn; revealing her why exactly her patient didn't get his heart, for example...

Oh my. I could totally see that.
Callie: You know, I am surprised you even let Stephens scrub in, considering she stole the heart from your transplant patient.
Hahn: Wait, you mean STEPHENS is LVAD girl??!
Cristina just gives that "Oh god, I wanna laugh" look. You know the look she gave when George announced they got married. The same one she flashed when he told them Callie's middle name. Yep, that look.

As long as they don't have them sitting on the floor of the apartment eating cheesecake out of the box bitching about how much their love lives suck, *coughcough* Private Practice *cough* I'll be a happy camper.I really hope they do something good with this relationship. It's one of the few things I'm excited about.

I hope so too, Meredith and Cristina are okay, but their relationship alot of times is built around what their problem of the week is. I think Cristina, and Callie together will be different, yes the have their problems, but it won't always be just that. So they will be the in between, what Mer/Cris have, and what Callie/Addison had. Which I think could be really good to watch. I liked their OR scene this past week.

I don't think Mer will be upset as long as Cristina is there for her when she needs it, and Cristina did tell Derek that she'd take care of Mer. If anything, I think Mer might like Cristina having someone else whose single to hang with when she's in McDreamy mode.
Meredith has self admitted abandonment issues, though. And thus far Cristina has really only spent all her time with her, so seeing how she handles Cristina having another person will be a hoot.

But friend =/= person though.
I don't think Meredith is going to care.

No, but I really enjoyed the Calstina (YAY!) scenes this past epi. I hope we get some scenes with them as roomies, hanging out or at the apartment. Maybe have a party?! That would be fun! Would never happen, I'm sure, but still would be fun. Then Cristina would have to pick up her clothes.

I like Callie and Cristina's friendship. Their scene at the end of "Physical Attraction, Chemical Reaction" reminded me of Callie's scenes with Addison - sometimes only one sentence necessary. Their friendship is different from Cristina and Meredith's in that no one is sharing their deep, dark secrets or trying to work out their issues. They are adults who talk and give each other advice. I like that.
Oh, I thoroughly enjoy their friendship as well. The one sentence random bits of advice is nice to see. Cristina always gives the advice- never really receives it (not that she'd normally take it anyway) so it's definitely a change.
I can just see Shonda screwing with Cristina/Mer out of all of this because Mer can't have Derek and her person.

Yes, that's it! I was trying to think about what it was that made this relationship so very awesome besides the fact that I adore Cristina and have always liked Callie very much, it's that Callie is giving Cristina advice for a change. She's older, wiser, more confident aside from how weak they just had to make her look over Bambi and Izzie of all character. But she has always to me NEVER had issues with coming out and saying how she feels, I did feel that she would be good for Cristina, in that she's tough but she is NOT as guarded as Cristina is. She had a chip on her shoulder, buy hey who the hell could blame her if you ask me, but she likes to talk, and her feelings are not a secret and she definitely knows how to express them. I think she is a good role model for Cristina, Cristina still looks to me as someone who will always be looking for some kind of mentor, someone to teach her and at least Callie is not some Cardiogod or goddess and she can learn some very important life lessons from her IMO. I mean she had an in with Cristina the minute Cristina found out she had scored the top score on her intern exam. But I never found Cristina to have an issue with her, nor Meredith for that matter, we ALL know who had the issues with her and like some clickish high school bitch, she tried to rally the two other girls who won't even let her into their "closed circle" to gang up against Callie, glad they never really took the bait. Cristina and Meredith never went all out to welcome Callie as one of them, but then again, Cristina especially has NEVER genuinely gone out to welcome that bitch Izzie as some true friend. The point is I never found Meredith and definitely not Cristina to go out of their way to be mean to Callie and tell her point blank that she did not belong. Best part, Izzie STILL isn't in the circle and she never will be, mostly because Cristina has never warmed up to her, she just cannot relate to Izzie and she's not wasting her time trying to and I don't blame her.

Meredith was pretty nasty during the whole "handwashing" incident. She wasn't openly making fun of her, but she laughed the loudest when Izzie did. But then there was the night when they were calling everyone "Ass" at the bar and George brought Callie. Meredith was the only one who spoke to her. Cristina just kind of rolled her eyes, which never made sense to me. I mean, what was Cristina's beef?
But then after George became a sex machine and Callie and Cris treated the marathon runner, there was a mutual respect there. After she asked her to be a bridesmaid, Callie was the only one that got Cristina's attitude about the whole thing. (No pink or baby blue, no flowers in my hair, no bow on my ass!) She was the one Cristina came to when she was having those doubts. "It's just one day, right?" I was ready for them to be friends at the beginning of the season, but for some reason, Cristina was giving her attitude right along with the other R2s. I am glad they realized the potential for great scenes there. I hope we get more.

I saw and heard Cristina say "hello Dr. Torres" and I knew quite well that she was not in a happy mood cause she was sulking over something with Burke. But again, my point was neither one of them went out of their way to pick on Callie, they did not from my perspective. When I say go out of the way to pick on her, Cristina nor Meredith NEVER made anything Callie did a topic of conversation first, that was Izzie. Cristina and Meredith are alway too busy with their own drama or Cristina's case, her career and then Burke drama to go to each other or Izzie and start up a convo. or make some observation or some snotty expression JUST to make fun of Callie no, that's all Izzie. In every instance it's her starting shit. That was my point when I said they have never gone out of their way to make Callie basically their pet harrassment project and that I had no issues with.
I was nor am, an advocate of Cristina which it would be way out of character for her, or Meredith to look at Izzie and tell her to stop picking on Callie, if that's what folks were looking for. Callie did not need anyone to defend her from Izzie, I did not feel sorry for Callie when Izzie was picking on her, cause I think Izzie is piece of crap compared to Callie. So, I just once again found Izzie freaking annoying and George pathetic as usual and was annoyed that a character like Callie could not have Cristina's attitude especially when it came to Izzie, in that she does not matter. That's how I see her, she does not matter, and that will not change for me no matter how important or some kind of force Shonda wants to try and make her. Even worse she's trying to make her a force by trying to bring other characters down just to feed and display her pointless bitchery, give me a break. She was never a force from season one and nothing has changed, she's just become more annoying on a show where Shonda is pretty much turning all the characters into just being annoying, including my the one I love the most.
At any rate, it's enough now for me that sorry as Izzie bitches and whines about the "closed circle" and Cristina still doesn't want her in ANY circle of hers. She turns around and opens the circle or breaks it and lets Callie in and I love it, one cause I just like Callie and think she's a good emotional/communicative influence on my dear Cristina and two I just hate Izzie. I think it's telling that Cristina is capable of having a relationship with another female friend as good as Cristina is at having any kind of relationship for that matter, but she just has no interest in Izzie.
