(TiVo says:) Ned and his partners try to find out whether the pilot of a plane that crashed into an apartment building committed suicide; Olive takes an injured messenger pigeon to the aunts for assistance.

I spend zero years, zero months, zero days, one minute and 46 seconds puzzling over the syntax of TiVo's episode description.

Not my favorite episode, but still good. Chi McBride was great, as usual.

Could this show be any more awesome? Between the Ellen/Kristin singing, the message pigeon, Jayma Mays, Emerson's eternal grumpiness and the Ned/Chuck beekeeper tango, this show is officially the greatest show in the history of ever.

Next week: Olive a jockey? Hell yes!

What a delightful episode! Especially the ending. I should have realized that the bee keeping hobby would lead to bee keeper protective suits. I'm enjoying seeing how the show comes up with increasingly clever ways to let them touch each other. Dancing is so delightfully intimate that this was just a perfect device.

One question, though: what is the name of the actor who played Lefty, and where have I seen him before? It's driving me bananas.

Chi McBride had so many excellent lines this episode, and I don't remember any of them! Ahh, that's just a wonderful excuse to watch the episode again. :-)

Oh my god. Olive and the Aunts are seriously adorable together! Everytime they're on screen I get the warm fuzzies and I can't help but smile. Kudos to the writers for developing their relationship! Olive is so there to fill the gap Chuck left behind. And I was so happy Olive set aside her anger in the end and spared Chuck.

That little moment of understanding between Chuck and Olive made me incredibly happy. I expected that hanging out with the Aunts would change Olive's plan, but I love that Chuck knows that Olive helped her.

Ned's jealousy and insecurity really made me want to hug him. Poor guy.

I'm glad we got some confirmation about Digby's awareness of the danger Ned poses to him, and that entire opening sequence was so cute I thought my heart would explode.

Kristen and Ellen need to sing together as often as possible.

Elcida was really cute. "You're lyin'. But I'm bored."

And lastly, Bradan Caden is a great name.

"Hand up!"

I'd watch a show featuring just Olive and the aunts.

So it was confirmed that the random proximity death has to be of the same species (or kingdom, whatever . . . I sucked at science).

And Digby continues to be the greatest dog ever! Apparently he's been taught (or just knows) not to touch Ned.

ETA: How could I forget the bedazzled pidgeon (Pidge!)? They should have gotten Tana from The Apprentice to make a cameo appearance.

I enjoyed Olive and the aunts more than Ned, Chuck, and Emerson this episode. I loved their developing relationship and the singing in the car.

I don't necessarily want Olive with Ned but as of right now, I'm setting up camp with Team Olive instead of Team Chuck.

The opening sequence with Digby was pure heaven for us golden retriever lovers. And the rest of the show was pretty darn good too. I’m so glad they’re not turning Olive into a cardboard villain. She and the aunts are comedy gold. Swoosie Kurtz’s delivery and facial expressions—priceless.

This was a reassuring week of P.D. for me. Because I didn't find that this episode had the consistent luster of the first 3 (I believe I'm correct that it's the first time that neither Fuller nor Sonnenfeld was directly credited) and I would think it represents what an "ordinary" episode of the show would be like... and it's still definitely good. Toward the end, when all the elements tied together, more than that. I'm happy with it.

Oddly, I wasn't thrilled by the Olive/Vivian duet as I would have expected to be. It wasn't given the metaphorical setup that Olive's solo had (2 weeks ago), and so it felt just like "2 gals passing the time by duetting in the car" and no more.

Still, plenty of goodness, including the narcoleptic museum lady and some memorable lines I can't remember right now.

I'm not a big fan of show tunes, but if they keep singing "They Might Be Giants" songs, I'm in for the duration. Not to put too fine a point on it, say I'm another bee in your bonnet.....Could there be(e) a more perfect set of lyrics for the show?

Great episode. The best yet.

Next time we are taking two cars. Chi McBride is so perfect and add just enough cynicism to the mix.

I spend zero years, zero months, zero days, one minute and 46 seconds puzzling over the syntax of TiVo's episode description.

Ha! Good one.

I enjoyed this episode but I felt it was a little busy. So many dead people to interview at the beginning, the complicated prison story... Pidge. I liked it but I felt like it went at warp speed through a lot of different territory.

I did really like the way they integrated Olive and the Aunts into the story. Sometimes I feel like poor Olive is an island so it's nice to see her interacting with the group "at large" as it were.

And I loved the morgue guy getting in on the getting rich. He is so delightfully dry. I look forward to his moments every week.

Another nice moment was the tourism lady being narcoleptic and not dead. That cracked me up. If Emerson had left Ned to his own devices there for a little while Ned might have thought he was cured and touched Chuck and then all of Emerson's problems (ok only his Chuck problem) would go away.

Next week's Halloween themed episode looks like it's going to be pretty interesting and involve Olive pretty heavily. Can't wait for that.

Lastly, how the heck did younger Digby know about the special limitations of his and Ned's friendship? Did I miss something?

I was in a complete state of panic the entire time. Seriously, I was dreading that they were going to go this route. But thank goodness they didnt. Not only was Digby unharmed, so was the cute squirrel.

This episode felt like it had a surgical strike of whimsy rather then being the Weapon of Mass Cute that it has been for the past two weeks. it was the proper amount to counter the fact that in his escape Lem killed an innocent man by bird and then hid the corpse of a dead man in a trunk. But I made it through the episode with out worrying about going into a diabetic coma.

But they are still bastards. The Digby opening hit me in every dog loving part of my body. It felt like, "how can we make everyone who's ever really cared for a dog get as close to tears as possible?" meeting was held and they did a good job at it.

With all the singing they continue to just tease the very idea of one day just deciding that an episode will just end up being a full on musical extravaganza.

But bless Olive. Here heart grew three sizes that instant.

How is it that this show can be so freaking adorable and not make me want to puke? It's amazing. I was more excited to see this show this week than I am for The Office, and I love The Office.

This episode was great, but the dandelion one is still my favorite. I was totally afraid Digby was going to die for the bird. That would have sucked, because he's second only to my chocolate Lab in terms of cuteness.

I loved "That one-armed bitch is fast." Chi McBride is all kinds of awesome. So are all the other characters. Whoever casted this deserves a raise.

ETA: I guess I'm not alone on my fears for Digby.

Another good episode. Though maybe part of it was me being proud to finally catch up with the whole
Chuck to Bees to Honey + Ned to Pies = Honey Pie. I might be slow but I am steady.

how old is Digby? Because even with the revivification, Digby looks pretty damn good for a twenty plus dog. Or does Ned's touch also stop aging (Lucky Chuck!).

TMBG singing *swoon*.

I too loved the narcoleptic lady.

Was anyone else absolutely terrified that they were going to kill Digby when the pigeon's 60 seconds were up?

I was SO terrified. On the edge of my seat until the other bird dropped out of the sky. I didn't think they'd do it, but since they'd just had the intro about Digby, and kept showing him in the window behind them, I was worried. I adore Digby, and I might have had to stop the episode and cry for a few hours if anything happened to him.

I love this show so much. It has yet to let me down (*knock on wood*). I love every character, I love the style, I love the dark humor and the sappy sweet moments. Gah.

Jayma May's character was great - her "You're lying. But I'm bored." made me laugh. And the carrier pigeon/prisoner story was fun. Loved the pigeon's new wing.

Olive with the aunts was also just great, and I hope they continue to explore that relationship. As much as I just want Chuck and her aunts to be able to be together again, I definitely see the downsides, so I'm glad Olive did the right thing.

I'm trying to think of something critical to say, but I've got nothing. I just adore this show.

I loved it when Ned replied, "DNA ... ish?" to the question of how he figured out the cause of the cropduster's death.

Ha, I'd forgotten that. I think that was my favorite quote of the night.

I loved it when Emerson stole Chuck's line that he was acting as "a concerned citizen of the human race." The faces the guy at the morgue makes are priceless. Aunt Lily is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters on television. And I love the interaction between Olive and Vivian. More please!

Hee. Add another to the list of people who were fretting for Digby- and another to the OMG TMBG!!! list as well. After Olive said that line, I giggled and spent the commercial break singing it to myself and explaining it to my mother, and then they went and followed through for me! Bless. This is such a wonderful show. The casting is always so great; I even found Lem and Elsita to be a super-cute couple that I would happily watch more of. And oh, Olive, she's so damn cute. I hope she gets some happy soon, and I'm so glad she decided not to be mean. Chenoweth might be able to pull of Mean Girl very well but I like her better when she's nice, and I'd hate to have to actually dislike anyone on this show.
