I am just now watching this week's episode. Thank goodness I DVR this because there is no way I could have sat through the pastor and his wife coming over for breakfast...I threw up a little in my mouth when I heard Alexis say they had invited them over because of what happened on the trip to San Francisco. Whatever.... Alexis and Jim are the type of self-righteous, hypocritical people who call themselves Christians, that have soured Christianity for me. Unfortunately, I have met so many people with similar attitudes and I can't stand it. The prayer Alexis offered up at the table for Brianna was ridiculous. God didn't part the Red "Seas".....you could tell she was trying to spout off how great of a Christian she is because she was using things from the Bible. She may want to try to get her facts straight. She's an idiot. I think she probably truly believes that the bigger the boobs, the better the Christian you are.
It's pretty pathetic when a 22 year old is the most mature person at the table. Here's my take on all of this..Vicki and Don didn't once say, "Don has a job, you all don't, you suck, etc, etc..." like everyone is claiming he did. Don said, "I have a job", Vicki said, "He works", honestly, all I think they were implying was that he didn't go (besides that it was to be a girl's weekend) because he was working and didn't want to take time off. All of the other women are getting up in arms about a comment that wasn't at all offensive...unless you are defensive because none of your spouses are working.
Don't get me wrong, Vicki is definitely no angel and says whatever she's thinking and then feels she does nothing wrong. However, Alexis (who really has only known Vicki for like two seconds) didn't need to call Vicki out on something in front of her daughter and in a large group. If it was truly an issue to Alexis, bring it up in private. That takes class, and I think we all agree that Alexis has none. I do admit that I was laughing when Vicki and Alexis were arguing about Tamara being each other's friends. Hello, Kindergarten?
I STILL can't put into words about the Curtin's and their parenting skills. Umm yeah, we're bankrupt, been evicted, living apart, but the minute our child cries, we can fix it by spending more money and go on a vacation. Yep, let's throw our invisible money at the problem and everything will be fine. That scene spoke volumes for life at the Curtin house.
As for Vicki making Brianna's cancer scare about her. I kind of get it. I get why she says, "I made that thyroid". I found out two years ago I have a genetic heart condition (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy- HCM), I inherited the gene from my mom. My mom feels guilty because she gave me the condition. We found out I passed the gene to my children...I gave them a gene that could cause a serious heart condition to develop. I am responsible for that (though I had no control over, and I get that), so I get where Vicki is coming from, since she has a history of tumors, she probably feels it's her fault because she passed that along to Brianna. Of course, since it is Vicki, I am probably all wrong about this....it's how I feel about passing along something scary to my kids, but I am not quite so narcissistic as she is.
I do think this though...I think Brianna and Vicki have a great relationship. She's raised a good child, unlike the Curtins, Tamara with Rapey-Eyed Ryan, Lauri, Jeanna with crazy, wanna throw a bat Shane, etc.....I think Vicki did a good job with her kids.
I know a lot of people aren't enjoying this season, but honestly...I am loving it. I could watch this crap forever! I DVR it every week and watch it while I work out the next day. Keeps me on the treadmill the entire hour!
