With all that said, really Tamra?, you really think Eddie would be interested in Vicki? Is he blind, deaf, and dumb?

Yes! The scene where he was trying to convince Tamra that he was only joking around with Vicki was so funny. The idea that he would be into Vicki is ludicrous! Eddie was all trying to be serious saying "I am not interested in Vicki" and I swear to god his face looked like it was all he could do to hold back from laughing.

I think Jim is over her, and has others on the side. He doesn't appear to care one hoot about her.

He doesn't appear to be anything because he is not on the show. He withdrew from being filmed so we do not see him, or them as a couple. There is no evidence at all that he is over her. In fact from his blog he seems very into her and defending her.

Their hair and makeup seems to always be professionally done now; it wasn't that way in the older seasons. This show almost can't be called candid anymore because all it is is staged dinner parties and cat-fight setups.

I was horrified when I saw Gretchen without any makeup - holy cow. Call me old fashioned but I'm not a fan of wearing so much makeup that you look like a completely different person when you aren't wearing any. These women would be more attractive if they aged gracefully instead of spending hours every day beating their mugs for the camera. Alexis looks like a transvestite and Gretchen looks like she's auditioning for a teen porn award.

I still can't get over the whole Tamra/Eddie/Vicki/Brooks thing. I also have a hard time believing that Tamra has never loved anyone as much as Eddie. Really, T? She sounded like a 16 year old who just broke up with her first boyfriend. And I dunno, Eddie is okay looking, but something about him is off. He also has candy corn teeth.

Just watched the preview on Bravo's website.

Alexis: "Floydie toity" - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Vicki and Tamra: I haven't had a conversation like that since middle school....and I may not have had one that was that immature even back then.
Vicki: Seriously, lighten up, passive aggressive beyatch. People that use sex toys aren't really in love, they're just trying to be in love?? Poor Brooks - hope he likes it straight up. Is it any wonder that Donn's trolling swinger joints after years of that?

And the next day when they were talking about it he said something like, "No more alcohol." The way he said it seemed more like a directive. I guess Tammy Sue likes her men controlling.

Didn't Eddie say something like "these kinds of incidents always seem to involve alcohol" before suggesting giving up the bottle? I think that shows a real concern that after many years of imbibing, perhaps alcohol isn't working well for either of them anymore (did it ever?). I rather enjoyed that moment and Eddie at that moment. Whether it was a sincere suggestion or leads to a huge lifestyle change for them (after all, the show runs on alcohol) remains to be seen.

IA. I'm trying to remember, but the only incidents I can recall pre-Tamra, pre Lake Havascrew, and pre-Naked Wasted, were a) Slade practically dragging Jo out of the bar by her hair, while she clutched her fishbowl-sized drink, and b) Kimberly and friend trotting off to the hotel bar, leaving the kids free to make prank phone calls from the room. When the hotel staff retrieved them, they were glassy-eyed and anesthetized regarding the situation. I'm sure there were more, but the fact they don't stand out in my memory shows how much more organic the show was then. I know the show is showing it's age, but I place most of the blame on the producers for applying the contrived dinner party/field trip+alcohol+catfight formula that you can get on Jersey Shore and dozens of other "reality" shows. I don't even blame the howives for the increased camera awareness. They're showing up for a shoot, after all, with castmates and bit players, not real friends. They're expected to bring the drama, or risk losing their paycheck. Seasons 1 and 2, they were hardly ever all together as a group. We saw them on their own, with friends and family, and sometimes in pairs or trios. I really miss that.

I miss the older seasons too. It seemed more like it was a real show about the OC/Coto lifestyle, everyone actually lived in Coto, the families and kids were involved, and it made sense how the women all relatively knew each other (through their kids). It seems now like so staged and posed, the relationships are so forced. The hubbies don't want to be filmed, the kids can't be filmed. It's just a show made up of these staged painting party/cocktail party scenes that would otherwise not be happening were it not for the show.

I saw an older episode I think a couple weeks ago where Vick was explaining about Lake Havasu, why her and Donn liked it there so much and the difference between her Havasu friends and her Coto friends. She said her Havasu friends were more "real", she could be herself around them, and she knew they would always be there for her. It is really interesting to see how Vicki changed over the seasons, she grew to not like Havasu, and got snobby about the Havasu people, seems like she saw it more like it was Donn's scene.

I agree. Even with how the friends are now introduced to the group, it's pretty phony. You can tell that they aren't really friends. At least with the kids in the first two seasons, a lot of them were actually friends outside of filming, so it made sense that the cast members knew each other well, even if they weren't especially close.

Agree as well. And I almost wish they would just be honest when they introduce a new person and say "I want to introduce you to the rest of the cast" instead of "I want you to meet my friends/the girls." Let's be honest - none of these women are really friends beyond the show. It's just so phony.

Watching the preview now. Btw, is Slade wearing Gretchen's sunglasses during the dog walk? And the BJ helper looks about as romantic as a turkey baster. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

"My fear has come true, she's pissed that I'm friends with Gretchen." Please, like part of your intention wasn't to stir the pot? I doubt it, rat-face.

I still like Vicki the most, at least she has a career in her own right, even if her success is partly due to the show. I think the fact that she's angry about Tamra and Gretchen is that she feels Tamra is doing this for shock factor. Vicki is sensitive bc Tamra has a track record of throwing her under the bus when she's part of the group. I can understand that.

I think Heather belongs on RHNY. And if she's 99% real, then I'm a size 2.

Slade is a jerk, but at least he cuts through other people's BS. He's the only person on the show who actually says what everyone else in the real world knows, i.e., Vicki claims to be the boss of a vast insurance empire, but she really only has three employees (and one of them is her son).

I loved those scenes! One of my all time faves was when they were doing shots in the kitchen, and after Donn downed his he went, "GAH GAH GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" I'd die laughing whenever that rerun came on.

The show def isn't what it was. One of the main reasons I'd watch is to see the Jo/Slade dynamic and the women with their kids. Now, there's only 2 technical 'housewives', it's more of a social gathering type show and a lot more contrived. I'll keep watching though. Just a shame it's not what it once was :/

Does anyone get the feeling that Alexis is starting to become more and more unhappy with her life? Just the fact that she's SO competitive with anyone she perceives as being more successful than her (first Peggy, now Heather) and now the seemingly more separate lives she and Jim lead (her taking more trips alone, the business ventures, him refusing to do the show). I wonder if all the fan feedback about Jim's controlling ways has gotten to her or something.

This is an interesting point, but I feel like - Because it is Alexis- it's probably more shallow than that. I feel like Peggy came on the show specifically to compete with Alexis. And I think that the issue Alexis had with Peggy is very similar to the one she has with Heather. I don't think it's a matter of jealousy about the material side of those women's lives, so much as both Peggy and Heather came on the show and were immediately accepted by the other women. I mean, I do think there is some degree of jealousy over Heather's possessions and wealth, but I think more than anything else, Alexis has been odd woman out since she came on board.

The only time she was accepted was when Tamra was throwing Vicki under the bus and teamed up with all of the other women at that table. But, after that, Tamra made it her life's (or the show's) mission to out Alexis as being just as broke as she is. I think a large part of the reason that Alexis and Gretchen even bonded was because Vicki and Tamra (along with Peggy last year) seemed to really have it in for the two of them. Now, Alexis is seeing that Gretchen and Tamra have made up and probably feels even more isolated.

In my opinion, what we are seeing is Alexis acting out with the thought of "why do they like her and not me?" Because, I don't think she really goes any deeper than that. And, I'd be willing to bet that all of the flack she gets about Jim being controlling just makes her that much more determined to hang on to him in an "us against the world" type of way.

I think that as Alexis is getting older, the controlling, strict daddy figure, I Am God husband shtick is getting old. I could see a woman tolerating that less and less as she ages. I mean how much longer can she pull off those ridiculous outfits, hair, and massive bomb implants?

Sex is not a spectator sport. Wonder if Donn ever tried to talk Vicki into that

After being publicly emasculated for the past five seasons, I wouldn't blame Donn for wanting everyone in the OC to see him get it on with as many women as possible. Homeboy has earned it.

Jim's degree is from CFNI. While the school actually exists, it is not accredited by any oversight agency through the US Dept of Education. Which means the degree is not worth the paper it is printed on. Anyone can open a college and start charging people money and printing degrees, even if they have a curriculum that looks legit. But if a college is not accredited that means that 1) anyone doing coursework could not take credits and transfer them to another educational institution. The degree is also not recognized by accredited colleges and universities for the purpose of applying for an advanced degree program. For example, someone with a bachelor's from CFNI could not apply for master's programs at an accredited college or university, part of the requirements are an undergrad degree from an accredited institution. And for jobs that require a college degree from an accredited college or university, degrees from unaccredited bible schools don't count.

Did Vicki say the reason Donn was still living at the house was to help pay the mortgage? Considering how much she works and keeps reminding how sucessful she was I would think between that and Bravo paycheck she could well afford her house payment. Isn't she also an "financial planner"? I wouldn't trust her with my money if she seems to live beyond her means with hers.

I'm not one to defend Vicky, but she and Donn seemed to have no problems affording the mortgage on their house. I don't think she should be expected to afford a house payment which took two full-time salaries to pay (especially when utilities must be a bitch as well). I do think it's beyond odd that these housewives divorce, or separate from, their husbands...and don't think twice about continuing to live with them because of the house. I don't get it.

So spot on, MissChung with the comments about Eddie's candy corn teeth and Gretchen's get ups looking like she is vying for a teen porn award! Those tight white shorts, pink shirt, and ridiculous pink tube socks with the furry boots looked ridiculous! I bet her neighbors routinely have their noses pressed to the windows to watch the spectacle of her walking her dogs. The inches deep makeup, bleached and teased hair, and slinky clothes all the howives wear really reinforce the whole perception of southern California being la la land.

I finally caught the latest ep last night. Who knew Bravo reran old eps?

Tamra continues to show the world what a classless trashy bimbo she is each week. I wonder how long it will take for Eddie to wise up and leave her like Simon did? That man (Simon) should be sainted or something for having to put up with her crap all those years. Who the hell gets envious of your bf paying too much attention to a friend and thinks placing the friend's hands on your breast is an appropriate response?

Whoever mentioned Heather being a total bitch at restaurants in Bravo's website previkew clips wasn't kidding! Yeah, I would definitely make sure I wasn't ordering the same thing that bitch had ordered if I had the misfortune of sitting at the same table as her. I wonder if her husband ordered the cook-it-yourself-on-hot-stones fish to avoid her making a scene like she does 90% of the time?

How conveeeenient that Slade and Gretchen discovered all that dirt on Vicki's new beau. He sure speaks like a drunkard, does he not? I'm not sure how I feel about Slade's upcoming "comedy routine" but am ingterested in seeing what parts Bravo allows us to see.

For the first time, I've finally figured out the worst part about Vicki's routine of shutting ppl up the minute they start to talk about something she finds uncomfortable or disgusting or whatever it is she doesn't like. She gets this distressed look on her face and acts like it's just too much for her to handle. "Oh no, no, no, I I I...I can't...I don't do this...I don't talk about this kind of thing...I don't do babies...at my age." Blah blah blah. It's really weird!!!

Don't forget her spasming like she's having a seizure or anurism and franticly making the sign-of-the-cross with her free hand.

According to the first episode, she does fitness-related segments on Friday mornings. They showed her segment with Dr. Butt (yeah, apparently that's what they call the guy).

I thought they called him "Doctor Bootie" on the show?

I can't let go of Slade and Gretchen's dinner habits. I just CAN NOT. Back when I was 19, living alone for the first time and trying to pay all my bills before buying groceries I learned the best way to eat when you can't on a regular schedule. Pasta and a 10 lb bag of potatoes are the very best way to achieve this feat. Buy the cheapest dried pasta and canned sauce in the supermarket. Generally this will cost you, on average, $1.98 total. I used to refer to this meal as 'welfaregetti' and to this day I refuse to eat it. So, while watching Gretchen and Slade spooning the same meal out after seeing the previous (assumed) week's meal of take out Italian really makes me wonder just how well they are living the Newport Beach high life.

Tamra's extremely irrational jealous response to Eddie and Vicki's interaction brought me back to my life experience...I had a horrible ex who engaged in seriously inappropriate situations of his own volition and who took extreme pleasure in torturing myself and his prior ex-wife. The man who I am with now supports me fully, regardless of the situation. If I require support, he is there. I never need question that. I see many symptoms in Tamra of a woman who has been abused/controlled and is now attempting to find her footing.

Why are Eddie's teeth so yellow this season?

Or sometimes she'll just look away from the camera. Have you seen her do that in interviews? It's like on news bloopers when the news anchor is accidentally looking at the wrong camera.

Am I the only one who follows Jeana Keough's daughter on twitter? I'm totally masochistic in doing so, but it's like I love to hate her. She goes on and on about living with her perfect boyfriend and all the things she's buying, the houses they're looking at, etc. She has such a weird relationship with men, it's like she can't get enough of their approval. I guess I'm a bit jealous of their material goods, but I suppose that's the benefit of snagging a pro-football player as a boyfriend. I just have a hard time with 23 year olds living in houses larger than I'll ever be able to afford out of no hard work of their own.

Totally agree about the poor-man's dinner, btw. Pasta, frozen or canned sauce and beans are staples in my pantry! And yes, Tamra looks like a battered woman. It's kind of sad. But I don't feel sorry for her.

Finally, Vicki and Don's living together doesn't bother me either. That is a bitch of a house to take care of, and Don always seemed like he was more of a home buddy than Vicki. I'm sure he could live in an apartment somewhere and give her cash for the mortgage and expenses, but he probably genuinely loves his house and likes living there. It's nothing compared to the Jeana/Matt situation!

No, don't follow the girl (I don't twitter) but it makes sense. I'll even give her the benefit of the doubt and believe that she genuinely likes and has feelings for the new BF but, seriously, with the role models she grew up with and the influence of the show, what else was she going to do? End up with a nice guy who pumps gas for a living?

When that much emphasis is placed on appearances--large houses, jewelry, plastic surgery to 'fix' whatever isn't 'right'--of course material stuff is what matters. I'll even go further and add that while her brothers are programmed to become rich and famous pro athletes, she--female that she is--was programmed to marry money.

Whether they succeed or not, well...

Yeah, but in the kitchen's defense, that might have been the thinnest piece they had. And for her to say that thick pieces are never fully cooked, in fine dining establishments, they are almost always cooked properly.

Yeah, I'm sure that place just /loved/ her saying that on national TV! I'm feeling more and more sorry for anyone who eats out with them!

Heather telling the girls that she and five of her friends want to open a restaurant.

Considering the way she behaves when she eats out, I find it hilarious! I bet she'd doing it b/c she's tired of finding weird things in her food when she eats out.

I did think Heather was very nice to have a carb free menu

I had to roll my eyes. Atkins/low-carb is SO 2000 and had long since been debunked, but leave it to these gals to be behind the times.

I must admit my greatest pleasure this season is in watching Alexis' annoyance/jealousy/feelings of inferiority pour out of her in the presence of Heather.

Speaking of which, I guess that WAS Peggy's attempt to go out withg a bang last week. Good riddance to her!

I grew up in Orange County, and there are many fantastic restaurants in the area. I couldn't believe it when Heather said that.

no doubt that's because everyone tampers with her food after she throws that nasty attitude around. "Gee, I found a roach in my food AGAIN! I wonder why all the restaurants we go to here are so bad?"

I thought the piece of fish they served her was fairly thin, and I agree that it's probably the smallest one they had. If they had cut that in half and served it to her, she'd probably then request a refund because it's a smaller portion lol.

Yeah I dunno why Kara Keough annoys me so. I think it's because she pulled the "working girl" attitude while she was on the show, at least for awhile. Now she's clearly back to her spoiled rich girl roots. I think she really does love her bf, but I kind of feel bad for her that she needs so much recognition SO much of the time. I can't imagine living with her, lol.

As someone pointed out upthread, there were carbs in almost everything she served. Methinks Heather has confused starches, refined sugar and flour, or other simple carbohydrates with "carbs". Complex carbohydrates (fruits, veggies) were all over that painting party, and while you can make a white flour-free macaron with almond flour (or none at all), I doubt that it was sugar-free.

But you're right, ubi. It's been debunked to the point of being harmful to many people, yet they cling to it over a decade later. Don't these women read anything, other than what they Google about themselves and each other?

Funny you mention that. When Gretchen was in her white hot pants get-up, aside from looking like Chrissy Snow ala Three's Company, she totally reminded me of Holly Madison with the whole tube socks look and short shorts. I'm surprised Hef hasn't made an 'offer' to Gretchen to shack up at the mansion.
