This is the place to discuss promos, previews and descriptions for next week's episode, etc. Just as a heads-up, there maybe a possibility of spoilers in this thread, as there are already promos on YouTube for episodes beyond next week. Not to mention, some people consider titles and promos for next week's episode to be things they want to avoid! Since this isn't a spoiler thread though, tags should probably still be used when discussing promos that have not yet been aired on network TV. Casting info, interviews and all that jazz would go in the Chuck in the Media thread so TWoP MARS doesn't hurt us or break our computers.

Chuck: Episode 1x02

Next On CHUCK:
10/01/07. Episode 2: Chuck Vs. The Helicopter - Chuck comes to grips with his newly adopted life as a spy, tension builds between his appointed partners Sarah Walker & John Casey. When a doctor who seems to have a solution to Chuck’s problem is killed, Casey and Walker turn the blame at one another. Both agents try to convince Chuck that the other one is responsible and now it is up to Chuck to decide which one to trust. Who will he choose?

What about if we discuss promos for episodes three and four, etc? Because I think they're out there? Is that still considered a non-spoiler or more of a 'buyer beware' where we said we'd be discussing promos in this thread?

Last night I saw a really cute promo for Chuck. It said that the nation loved Chuck (or something like that), but this guy, not so much (shows a man holding a gun suddenly being whacked in the head by a large metal object), and then says that they (NBC) took care of it.

Can anyone who has seen it remember who that guy was? I didn't recognise him at all.

I was already looking forward to the new episode, but that promo made me even more jazzed. Can't wait for next week.

The "Sorry World" promo is funny too, I hope NBC is promoting the hell out of this show.

Normally I hate the stupid ads that AIM puts up, but today there is one for Chuck in the rotation! Yay! It's the same promo that's been airing on TV, I'm pretty sure.

That promo for "episode 2" was misleading, seems more like a general promo since there are scenes from other future episodes in it as well.

That seems to be the case for most shows though, as they sometimes piece together clips from future episodes or even past episodes into that next week's promo. It can be annoying, especially if you were looking forward to something specific happening!

It's more than annoying, I really hate it actually. I choose to watch a promo for the next episode only because I want a small preview of what to expect from that particular episode, I do not want to get spoiled on future episodes beyond that.

I think I'll stop watching promos altogether, this particular promo just made me confused about this week's episode of Chuck. In this promo you see Chuck dancing and getting interrogated and that's what I was looking forward to the most after watching the promo. Next week I guess? The interrogation was in episode 2, but it made no sense at all...

Next week is Chuck vs. the Tango, so that's where those awesome dancing and knife to the crotch clips come from.

I think these more general promos that have stuff from the future episodes is just for the begining of the show. A "Hey- tune in for the next couple of weeks to see all of this cool stuff" I think from now on they will only show parts for the next episode. Since everything they showed this week seemed to be able the tango and the interrogation. And since its really going to be his first "mission" it does make sence to have that in the first couple preview. I do wish that they did more of a "this season on Chuck..." like on ANTM.

Did anyone catch the new Chuck preview tonight after The Office? It looks like things could be getting awkward for Shuck/Charah/whatever the heck we're calling them.

Btw, I'm really glad to see NBC putting a Chuck promo right after TO. I've been hyping the show on Office message boards and think there's a decent amount of fans that are either fans of both shows or can easily become fans of both shows. Good job, NBC Promo Monkeys!

I didn't see that promo, but I really wish I had. I don't think there's any way to even see the promos besides just watching other NBC shows. I will be watching Friday Night Lights tomorrow, but I don't think I've ever seen a Chuck ad while watching that show, so oh well :(

killersharky, I saw the promo after TO tonight as well. Chuck tentatively asking if Sarah can just "hang out" and their subsequent awkwardness just sitting on his bed (with the door closed) made me think Morgan, Ellie, etc. are starting to wonder why Chuck and Sarah never spend the night with each other. So Chuck's solution is to have Sarah stay in his bedroom for awhile, making everyone else think something's happening.

And I couldn't agree more about a crossover Office/Chuck audience. I love both shows for many of the same reasons.

So Rachel Bilson shows up in episode 8. The synopsis for episode 9 refers to Sarah as Chuck’s ex-girlfriend. Hmm. Wonder why they “break up”. Any theories? The episode 8 release makes it sound like Sarah and Casey both spout a few truths. Maybe that’s part of it? But I’m trying to figure out why they’d allow this pretty major alteration in cover story.

On the other hand, a Morgan-less double date? Sounds awesome. Anyway, it sounds like their sex life might be an ongoing question. I, too, saw the promo tonight (it ran twice actually -- once after TO and once after either Earl or 30 Rock, can't remember now which one). Looks hilariously awkward.

Definitely makes sense. The only thing is, would this hamper things with the mission? I suppose they could do a “we’re still friends” fake break-up. That would keep her in his regular life outside her job across the parking lot at Wienerlicious.

Either way, it sounds like we're going to get some interesting episodes so I don't really care too much how they play it.

That's how I read it as well and would add that I think Chuck and friends know that Chuck has feelings for Sarah. So, I think Chuck will fish for a response from Sarah that assures him that she has feelings for him. She will let him know that she is all about the mission and may even encourage him to go for it and make a new cover. I believe Chuck will struggle with not spending as much time with Sarah but will move on because Zoe is interested in him.

Hmmm, interesting developments there. I've always imagined that Chuck would be the one to initiate a "break-up" with Sarah because he sucks at emotional subterfuge. I just assumed that at some point Chuck was going to flat-out tell Sarah that it's extremely difficult for him to separate reality from fiction when it comes to his emotions (or maybe even tell her he has feelings for her), and that he can't be in a fake relationship with her anymore. I guess it could still play out this way with Lou in the picture, especially because she is (as far as he knows) someone he won't have to play the emotional "reality vs. fiction" game with.

But I don't really care how it plays out as long as it's emotionally angsty in a FUN way and not in an "I want to spork out my eyeballs" way.

They actually did play it during Friday Night Lights, and the announcer's voice and the sleazy music were almost as funny as Chuck and Sarah's awkwardness. Very cute promo. Cute enough that it might make me want to watch the show if I wasn't already doing so.
