Addison heads to Los Angeles for a new job, though her new co-workers are not expecting her; her first case at the wellness center could make or break her reputation with the staff.

2) Paul Adelstein, naked, and chained to the bed? HOT! The only thing wrong with this picture was that I wasn't in the room with him! He and Violet were sooo cute together... even cuter then Addi & Pete who's chemistry is sooo overrated even though the tongue-kiss in the Not-A-Pilot was pretty awesome!
3) Audra MacDonald? Much better than Merrin Dungee who was too self-contained and cerebral where as Audra knows how to BRIIING IT and whips some SERIOUS ass!
3) Charlotte = Carrie Weaver 2.0?
4) The pacing of this show is just like GA... it really is Grey's Anatomy 2.0... and that just rocks!
5) Why didn't they just aspirate the dead guy's sperm toute-suite and then stick it on ice until the issue was resolved? Sloppy writing, Shonda!
6) So Addi is Naomi's "someone" couldn't they have just recycled the original "person" term which Mer and Christina developed to perfection?
7) Addi's soliloquy was a tad... painful.
8) Thankfully, Del got a haircut, there were less sightings of him, and sightings of his La Leche Nipples were non-existent.
9) However, good start to this series, I know I was crying.

I love the episode titles, too. Even though they're a bitch to recite/type :)

And, when Addison took this job, wouldn't she have asked what a normal day was like? So when she is told she only gets one patient a day she won't be shocked?

Otherwise, pretty decentshow. Don't know if I'm feeling Audra McDonald in this role...she just looks too hard and body builderish and like she's always about to kick someone's ass. She didn't look so hard when I saw her a few years ago on broadway in A Raisin in the Sun.
Addison rocks as usual. And I loved her grand soliloquy at the end. She was right--she did save all of their asses. She's good at what she does.
Also loved the intro between her and the chief...at least we got some closure.
I'm not sure yet if I will be as rabid about this as GA...but I'm willing to give it a few more episodes.

That was the biggest piece of misogynistic crap that I have seen in a long time. And the men...
holy crap--there was not one redeemable character.
Her hate has moved from Meredith to Addison and the rest of the women portrayed on the show.
Maybe GA has a chance this season.

Dancing naked? First, Holly Hunter does it better -- and funnier -- on Saving Grace. And second, the hard-ass Addison from Grey's Anatomy never would do something like that.
And giving herself a countdown before making the first incision during emergency surgery? Is this a drama or a cartoon? This is not the super-surgeon we knew back on Grey's. I liked Seattle Addison; I don't like Los Angeles Addison.
If Private Practice is still around in a few months maybe I'll give it another try. But until then Wednesdays at 9:00 PM will find me tuning in to Mythbusters.

I didn't like who they replaced MD with. AM just didn't do it for me, and no offence to anyone (especially the actress) but she kind of looked like a man in a couple of shots. It distracted me too much.
The 'I had a bad day' speach was over the top and I almost couldn't watch it.
Maybe it'll get better, but I like being optimistic. We'll see.

Also, this was...disjointed. The characters seem just like the GA people all growed up.
I am giving it a few more episodes, but this left me feeling vaguely unsatisfied.

I started losing interest in this show when they over played that commercial for the show where Tim Daly and Kate "I'm married and now I'm fabulous and better than you!" Walsh exchange "witty banter." That doe eyed swoon of Walsh's made me want to heave. Plus, as you can see, I've propelled myself off the Addison love train. I don't know, Kate just comes off so smug lately.
The character of Addison wasn't fleshed out enough to give her her own series. This show will die a slow death. I predict one season only.

To be fair, Addison was trying to psyche herself up to perform a cesarean w/o anesthesia---to do something like that, while meeting a reasonable standard of care in an emergency, still lends itself to a whole bunch of negligence claims. So I can see the hesitation.

Yeah, I'm in. If it really does get better in the second episode as people say, I will be quite happy. Go, Team Addison!

My one problem is Pete. Normally, I like Tim Daly, but his character is so sickening. I honestly don't think TD and KW have much chemistry. It's only the first ep and I want him gone.
I like everyone else and I liked the different storylines. It's good that everything won't be focused or even have a direct connection to Addison--much as a I lurves her.
Is Charlotte the fierce blonde? Love her!
Great show, and it's definitely weekly viewing material. I hope it keeps up.

Whatever happened to Addison who was sleek, sexy and awesome? And why can't there be any well adjusted women on the show? Why do they all have to be messes?
The one patient a day thing seems a little ridiculous. Unless they are charging that one patient thousands upon thousands of dollars, that co-op is going bankrupt pretty fast.
And where the heck did Cooper get the obsessive-compulsive ladies' dead son's medical records on such short notice?
At least the talking elevator seems to have shut up.

How did Shrinking Violet get a store to close in order to handle the OCD woman?

The good news is, the show's still a fetus, and Addison is a world-class neo-natal surgeon. Maybe she'll be able to save it. Also? Boob silhouettes.

My bf asked the same thing. We didn't find an answer. How is it possible that you can take actors who, individually, are completely engaging, put them together and create such a bland ensemble cast?

I enjoyed Sam, Naomi, Cooper, and Violet though. The cute receptionist was barely there to care. And Pete...
I hope the next episodes are better. It needs it own thing cause the constant references to Grey's "the kiss" ala Derek and Meredith stand and "my person" ala Christina and Meredith was irking me.

I wonder how much last minute tinkering was done because the scene with Addison and Richard was brand new (the original was on ABC's web site and had Addison in Richard's office, she's the one saying she's going to wear jeans and dance naked, there's no hug, etc.). This good-bye with Richard was much stronger. She was assertive, saying she was doing this and he couldn't change her mind.
Some have been complaining about Addison's naiviety about her new working situation, but I think we've all been in situations where we make a leap and have the realities of that leap catch up to us. I'm sure Naomi did explain the differences, but all Addison could hear was "New beginning, away from Seattle, new beginning, away from Seattle."
And I didn't have a problem with her psyching herself up when she had to perform the C-section. It was a very different situation (no anesthesiologist or anesthesia, no sterile operating room, no blood supply, etc.) and she just needed a minute. I didn't have a problem with that.
Liking Audra much better as Naomi, she does bring a stronger edge to the role.
My one nitpick: why is Charlotte (the Chief of Staff) responding to an emergency room call? Also, we need her back story with the other characters fleshed out. Did Sam and/or Naomi used to work at that hospital with her?
So yeah, overall, I liked and will be back for more.
ETA...Anyone know where one can find Dell's shirt? The symbol on it looked very similar to the Twlight symbol from the Buffy comic and I thought it looked cool.

Kate Walsh was amazing, as always! Addison was acting totally normal for someone who just moved and started a new life. She was kick ass at the end!
Love the Pete and Addie sexual tension and flirting. Im sold on this ship.
Violet, she will have to grow on me a little.
Sam/Naomi, I really hope they get back together.
Im hooked!

They both felt/feel pretty childish to me. But YMMV, of course. One thing I noticed right away is how much more...adult...this show is. GA seems to be so childish and annoying in comparison to me
Watching this episode, I missed MD as Naomi. AM is a talented woman but she looks and feels so hard and brittle. Didn't feel the warmth between her and KW at all. Or between AM and TD either, now that I think about.
Overall, it felt a little thin in places, but Addison's "I'm putting my foot down" speech was pretty good. I'd probably watch again if I'm bored but from the previews of the next episode, I'm not optimistic.
