In case you haven't heard, lots of people in this show have done other things before, like Matthew Settle, aka Rufus in Band of Brothers, Blake Lively in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and of course, Kristin Bell, aka "Gossip Girl" was eronica Mars.

Anyways, if you've heard anything about any GG cast member in another role, talk about them here. You know you want to.

I saw and loved Leighton Meester in the amazing ABC pilot Secrets Of A Small Town that sadly never found a spot on the schedule. Leighton actually played identical twins in the show, one of which was murdered, and the other was found in a catatonic state and later found to be pregnant - both had sinister symbols cut into their necks. Even though Leighton had a minor role which was mainly constricted to flashbacks, I thought she did an amazing job. There was also a steamy scene that featured her and Lucy Hale making out. If Secrets Of A Small Town had been picked up, it could have been Leighton's big break as it tested off the charts with focus groups and would have almost certainly been a big hit and gotten her a lot more press exposure than Gossip Girl ever would have, not to mention that the role of Blair in Gossip Girl would have gone to someone else.

To add another VM connection, Leighton Meester played Carrie Bishop. Another deliciously bitchy role.

Penn was also in the short-lived WB series Do Over as well as another short-lived WB series The Mountain. I didn't really watch the latter, but I loved the former 'cause I'm a huge sucker for time travel.

Anyway, let's hope his third show hits off!

I'm not sure if everyone here already knows this, but if y'all aren't as big Sisterhood nuts as me, you might not.

Blake Lively has recently filmed the sequel to the surprisingly popular first movie. I can't wait to see it! Apparently, she got quite beat up while filming the movie and not only ended up on crutches after crashing a Moped, but also stepping on a Sea Urchin and hurting her foot. Who would have thought filming a chick filck could be so dangerous?

Leighton Meester was in the short lived WB show Tarzan. I haven't seen the show, but I know of this because the show also starred Sarah Wayne Callies (of Prison Break fame).

Leighton Meester (Blair) was also regular on Surface a couple of seasons ago. She was also the girlfriend who got poisoned by her boyfriend's mother on 24 and the teen temptress on two episodes of House.

Adding to "Do Over" and "The Mountain", Penn Badgley (Dan) was also on another short-lived show, The Bedford Diaries with Milo Ventimeglia.

Both Leighton and Penn had roles in the awesome killer clown movie "Drive-Thru". Main roles too so it's worth checking out for a laugh. And one of them dies horribly too

Chace Crawford (Nate) was in The Covenant with Taylor Kitsch from Friday Night Lights. It was like a male version of The Craft. But suckier.

While Taylor Momsen (Jenny) was Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch That Stole Christmas and was also in this summer's Underdog about a dog that's also a superhero. Yeah, you read that right.

Matthew Settle (Rufus) was in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer with Jennifer Love Hewitt

and finally Kelly Rutherford probably paid the rent with roles in short-lived shows "Threat Matrix", "The Fugitive" and then "E-Ring" with Benjamin Bratt and also a small role Scream 3. She of course also played Megan in Melrose Place.

Well, now I must go to imdb.com and do some Penn read ups. Between the shows you mention and The Bedford Daries , GG must be his 4th tv series. (BD aired on the WB in the few months before the UPN/WB merger.) (Keeps fingers crossed that GG won't be his fifth series to bomb.)

I just realized how old I am since Underdog was on everyday when I was a kid and now the concept needs to be explained.

Anyway, I fell in love with Kelly Rutherford when she was on the short-lived series Kindred: The Embraced and of course as Megan on Melrose Place.

Ah, I didn't remember he was in The Bedford Diaries.

Also, Hermosa, thanks for saying Leighton was on House. It was driving my friend who watched the pilot for the first time last night insane where she was from. I told my friend I knew her as Carrie Bishop on Veronica Mars, but that I didn't think she (my friend) knew her from that since I haven't been able to convert my friend to VM yet, hee. However, I do know my friend has been watching the House dvds belonging to another person in the dorm.

If any of you watch Entourage, the girl who plays Blair was Justine Chapin--the virgin/ pop star who Vince wanted to date (of course!) It was driving me crazy where I'd seen her before, and she looked a lot younger then (probably from 3 years ago or so....)

Dood! she didn't, she's just 14! Although Taylor looks 21, I'll give you that. Or, maybe she looks like a 21-year old trying to look like a 16 year old, and succeeding at it ... ;)

================================
To the above post, TWoP Bayliss felt the need to react in the following way, notice that it's like 10 minutes or so after my post:

Today @ 1:09 am

Please quit with the weird formatting. Bolding everything is pretty much like typing in all-caps. Also, it would be great if you'd refrain from stating your opinion as fact. Whoever said the Gossip Girl character "really grew up" obviously meant something other than what you thought, but another post consisting entirely of "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT" is going to get you banned. Read the FAQ, please.

I'd like to make the following remarks:
1. the whole FAQ is a dead link
2. PM's don't work either, otherwise I've PM'ed him
3. Oh wow, what a way to make feel someone welcome! Thanks for that.
4. In what universe saying that a 14 year old is not "grown up" equals "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT", I dunno.
Basically, that's just mean. I'm 16, and I don't feel grown up, so I don't feel a 14 y.o. is grown up
5. Also, bold = caps? Hey, I can live with that. Sorry for make a whole sentence bold. I did that because I couldn't see the letters too clearly. Yes, I am visually challenged. But to attack me so viciously ... ?? I actually feel kinda violated.

Oh maybe you, casual browser, think I'm overreacting? Precisely how I feel about the mods reaction.

Listen, I completely subscribe whatever nettiquete you might have, and to not flaming, and not write in caps, and to all that.
And to say:
"She really grew up" is stating something as a fact. As much as stating "she's just 14" is stating something as a fact.
So why I get singled out here, it's beyond me.

Now, I totally understand that you can ban me from this board, that you have that power, and that you would like to do that to people who disagree with you. Do whatever. AFAIK, I didn't break any ethical rules by disagreeing over the level of adultness in a 14 y.o. girl. If, according to you, I did, do your worst, but I think in that in case you're taking something out on me which you shouldn't.

Ps. I just come here to gossip, to speculate, to share info on the show. Nothing else. (to add: I've tried to split this post for readability, sorry if this upsets you. Too. The 'system' wouldn't let me, guess that one is yours then.)

Thanks again for making this a fun filled experience.

I don't understand the censoring of Dulcinea's post about Serena's mom. If it's about spoilering, it don't work coz you can see what it says when you select it. Just asking! Please don't ban me because of that!

Both Leighton and Penn had roles in the awesome killer clown movie "Drive-Thru". Main roles too so it's worth checking out for a laugh.

So if you have Comcast OnDemand, Drive-Thru is in the Free movie section right now! I just happened upon it during a boredom fueled channel surfing incident, and had to come here to tell you guys. I've watched about 10 minutes of it so far and it's hilariously bad already. So far, it looks like they're two of the leads. And Penn's hair is crazy big. And Leighton "sings" in a rock band. And there's a killer clown!

I was watching Sex and the City the other day and the character that plays Bart Bass was on. It was the episode, "Plus 1 is the Lonliest Number" and he played Miranda's date for Carrie's book party. The character actually seemed a lot like Bart.

I FINALLY figured out where I've seen Nate's shitty mom before. The actress who plays her (Francine Swift) guest-starred in an episode of Law and Order: Criminal Intent a few years back that's constantly rerun on Bravo. She plays this wacky nurse who's obsessed with her ex-husband and does whatver she can to stay in his life: cooking him food, ironing his shirts, etc. She ends up killing this Howard Stern-esque radio DJ because her husband used to listen to the show on his commute and she would call in and act out sexual fantasies without him knowing. She also starts becoming obsessed with Detective Goran as the case wears on.
